Scope of Position

We are seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead our Workflows squad.You’ll provide technical and people leadership to drive quality, performance, and scalability within our products. You’ll also be instrumental in shaping our engineering culture and fostering a collaborative environment that supports learning and innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing:
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of high-performing engineers, fostering their development and empowering them to succeed.
- Lead a team of software developers in the design, development, and maintenance of our products
- Manage and coordinate software development projects from conception to delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to ensure project success and to ensure the technical team meets schedules, resourcing and technical quality target
- Promote high standards for code quality, security, resilience, and operational excellence in integration systems.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, technical innovation, and knowledge sharing to uplevel the team and maintain the long-term health of our system.
- Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap, balancing short-term needs with long-term stability and scalability.
- TypeScript (React for web, React Native for mobile)
- Node.js and MongoDB in a microservices architecture
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a people management role
- Proven ability to lead and grow high-performing engineering teams
- Hands-on experience building and scaling features, particularly for SaaS platforms
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align technical initiatives with business goals
- Ownership mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, scalable solutions
Nice to Have:
- Experience in financial technology, wealth management, or a related industry
- Familiarity with work orchestration or automation tools
- Experience working in startups or scale-up environments

In this role, you’ll have the unique opportunity to shape and implement the strategy for growing our development team, manage capacity and budgets, and ensure the right people and resources are in place to succeed. You’ll collaborate closely with our CTO and the Head of Product, while working cross-functionally with designers and other key stakeholders to bring our product roadmap to life.

Qualifications & Skills:
Background
- 10+ years of experience with hands-on software development, including 5+ years in a management role.
- Experience working in a start-up would be an asset.
Proven technical skills
- Significant hands-on experience in full-stack software development is required, preferably in our technology stack (see below).
- Proven experience taking software products and features through design, implementation, testing, and release in an agile environment.
- Strong knowledge of architecture patterns for modern SaaS and mobile applications.
Proven leadership skills
- Strategic thinker, able to tackle complex technical problems.
- Proven leadership skills, with a track record of mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
- Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical teams.
- Experience leading distributed teams and implementing effective team communication, collaboration, and development workflows in a remote-first environment.
Preference for experience in the following domains:
- Performance optimization for analytics-heavy web applications
- Experience in process engineering, familiarity with utilities, energy services, power generation, and/or renewables.
