THE POSITION

THE ROLE

The Production Assistant supports the manufacturing of pharmaceutical products by performing a variety of tasks on the production floor.

This role ensures products are produced in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company quality standards.

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Assist in the preparation, compounding, packaging, labeling, and production of pharmaceutical products according to approved batch records, SOPs, and cGMP standards.
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot manufacturing equipment under supervision.
  • Set up, clean, and sanitize equipment and production areas in compliance with company procedures and regulatory guidelines.
  • Accurately complete documentation, including logbooks, work orders, and other required records.
  • Transport materials, components, and finished products within the facility.
  • Adhere to all company SOPs, safety protocols, and cGMP regulations, including proper use of PPE.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or process deviations promptly.

DAY-TO-DAY

  • Assist in compounding, packaging, labelling, weighing, filling, capping and stacking of products following strict quality processes
  • Adhere to all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and company work instructions
  • Complete all required paperwork including logbooks, work orders and other required documents
  • Follow all company policies as described in the Employee Handbook
  • Follow all safety procedures, and assist in maintaining a safe workspace
  • Maintain a clean working area,
  • Cleaning of utensils, and routine cleaning and care of equipment

Job Overview


As a Production Assistant, you will be a vital support figure in our animated TV show production. Contribute to daily operations, gaining hands-on experience in the animation industry. Responsibilities include administrative tasks, scheduling, production coordination, and team support. This is a great opportunity to learn the ropes of animation production while working closely with experienced Producers and Coordinators. You'll assist with scheduling, file management, communication between departments, and general production support.

Key Responsibilities


  • Support the production team with administrative and coordination tasks.
  • General housekeeping tasks such as handling emails and managing documents.
  • Organize and manage digital files and ensure timely ingestion of client notes.
  • Support the Producer and Production Manager in scheduling and coordinating client meetings, dailies, and team events.
  • Facilitate communication between different departments by relaying messages and ensuring timely information flow.
  • Distribute important information and updates to the production team.
  • Address any minor issues that may arise during production and escalate more significant concerns to the Producer and Production Manager.
  • Support the production coordinators by adding notes into Flow in a clear and concise manner.
  • Take notes from internal and client meetings and distribute them to the relevant departments.
  • Assist in finding solutions to challenges in collaboration with the production team.
  • Actively seek opportunities to learn about the animation production process and industry standards.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Flag to your Producer/Production Manager if any artist is not performing at their quota, working within the studios hours, and or not maintaining standards of professionalism


Skills and Experience


  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, documents, and production tracking tools (experience with Flow or similar a plus).
  • Eagerness to learn about animation production processes and pipeline workflows.
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented approach; thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to take direction well and follow through on tasks independently.
  • Previous production experience is a plus, but not required.

The wage range for this role reflects compensation across all of ICONs projects. The final salary will be determined based on the specific position, the current show assignment, and the applicants experience and portfolio. This range accounts for varying levels of experience and responsibilities.

In light of our rapid business expansion,abm is currently looking for a Lab & Production Assistant to join our expanding Virology team in the Molecular Biology Department!

The successful candidate will have plenty of opportunities for fast-track career development while being part of a highly diverse, innovative and interactive cohort of scientists and colleagues. In this role at abm, were seeking an individual with excellent communication skills, critical thinking ability, and a strong interest in virology to help us advance our work.

The Role:

Working with the team leader, you will maintain inventory and manage order tracking. You will forecast and plan requirements with the team leader to ensure that inventory for internal use is in place to meet project demands, and communicate effectively with managers, supervisors, and other departments. You are a competent and motivated team player with demonstrated ability to provide effective quality assurance with lab techniques in the department. On the R&D side, you will have the opportunity to help develop new technologies and techniques for new product lines and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee inventory organization while maintaining adequate stock levels to ensure uninterrupted workflow
  • Handle production duties such as viral transfection, purification, and amplification
  • Conduct quality assurance tests involving qPCR and mammalian cell culture
  • Assess and develop new technologies and techniques to expand and enhance product lines and services for virus-related products
  • Prepare products for shipment and compile all required documentation
  • Take part in general lab maintenance to ensure a safe, clean and well-equipped working environment for the team

*This is a fast-paced, production-focused role that may require schedule flexibility, including occasional weekend work to meet critical project and production timelines. Candidates should be prepared to:

  • Adapt to changing priorities in response to production demands.
  • Be available for scheduled weekend shifts or extended hours during peak periods.
  • Collaborate with team members across shifts to ensure smooth continuity of lab operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Minimum: High school diploma with 2 years working experience; Associate Degree or post-secondary diploma in Virology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or a related field; or Bachelor's (BSc) with relevant coursework; or equivalent combination of education and at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Solid foundation in virology and molecular biology techniques is essential; hands-on experience with cell culture, molecular cloning, RT-PCR, and virus production is a strong advantage.
  • Analytical and Detail-Oriented: Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail in experimental procedures, data analysis, and documentation to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Project andTime Management: Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data and insights clearly to colleagues and stakeholders.
