Lambert Nemec Group, Winnipeg’s leader in Permanent Recruitment, has partnered with our client in the search for a Finance & Accounting, Process Improvement Specialist . This newly created leadership role is ideal for someone with a strong finance background and proven customer service expertise who thrives on solving problems, streamlining processes, and building relationships.

Reporting to senior finance leadership, the Manager will be responsible for creating and leading a service-focused function that supports internal stakeholders with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other finance-related inquiries. This role will focus on designing and implementing efficient workflows, resolve workflow issues, managing escalations, and ensuring every interaction is handled with professionalism and a customer-first mindset.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a finance service team that delivers consistent, high-quality support to internal stakeholders.
  • Act as the main liaison between finance and other departments, ensuring issues are addressed quickly, accurately, and with excellent service.
  • Identify recurring service or process challenges, determine root causes, and implement preventative solutions.
  • Partner with technology teams to enhance ticketing and workflow systems for better efficiency and transparency.
  • Create and maintain communication strategies that keep stakeholders informed of progress, timelines, and changes.
  • Foster a culture of customer service excellence within the finance function.
  • Lead change management initiatives to improve processes and stakeholder experience.
  • Prepare and present regular reporting on service delivery performance, trends, and improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Professional accounting designation (Canadian CPA)
  • Minimum of 5 years in finance or accounting operations leadership, with strong knowledge of AP, AR, and payroll processes.
  • Proven background in customer service with the ability to manage and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience implementing or managing service delivery or ticketing systems.
  • Strong process improvement skills, with experience designing and rolling out new workflows.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship management, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to balance technical finance knowledge with a service-oriented approach.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.
  • Desire to resolve complex problem

Rewards:

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) ramp-up and training at contract manufacturer sites. Maintain issue logs and track issues to resolution.
  • Populate ERP, MRP, and PLM systems with accurate production data.
  • Own part quality, process optimization, and supplier industrialization throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Monitor production throughput and quality metrics; recommend and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop, map, and optimize manufacturing process flows, takt times.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure alignment with dcbels quality and manufacturing standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure robust error-proofing (poka-yoke) is built into manufacturing processes.
  • Lead and close NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Requests) efficiently, preventing recurring issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives targeting cost reduction, waste elimination, lead-time improvements, and quality enhancement.
  • Actively participate in design reviews with dcbel Design Engineering to ensure manufacturability and develop effective DFM (Design for Manufacturability) strategies in collaboration with suppliers.



Key requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience and proven ability.
  • 5+ years experience working with electromechanical products; quality management experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with SPC (Statistical Process Control) and data analysis.
  • Willingness to travel 3040%, sometimes on short notice.

YOUR DAY TO DAY :
We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will be responsible for technical assignments involving maximizing the manufacturability and maintaining timely product flow for the assigned products. The Manufacturing Engineer will implement and maintain efficient manufacturing equipment, processes and procedures; coordinating the introduction of new products into manufacturing, and identifying and solving production related problems, for assigned products.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR :

  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Interfacing with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products.
  • Estimating manufacturing costs, determining time standards, process qualifications, work instructions, and making recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new and existing product lines.
  • Create and maintaining required documentation for manufacturing processes, process-failure-mode-effects-analysis, value-stream-maps, capacity and utilization studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
  • Research and test design ideas to determine feasibility, utilizing lean manufacturing, kaizen, Six Sigma, poka-yoke, and root-cause analysis to formulate and support innovation, corrective actions, and improvements.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improving manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design materials and parts, fabrications processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards.
  • Collaborating with Quality Engineering to monitor product yield, provide product factory / field failure root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE :

  • Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering – prefer Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering
  • 6-9 years relevant experience
  • Proven knowledge of manufacturing engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • In-depth understanding of lean manufacturing principles, TAKT, value-stream-mapping.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Ability to clearly recognize and export information relevant to sound manufacturing engineering design.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, problem solving techniques, and quality processes.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication.
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Proficient with MS office
  • Familiarity with ERP (JDE) system an asset
  • Proficiency with analytical tools, workflow time studies, and process balancing
  • Ability to collaborate with program managers, manufacturing leads, customers, and functional leads, and to provide daily direction and guidance to junior associates.
  • Must be able to meet CGP requirements
