We are looking to add a Project Manager to our team. Reporting to the Sr. Project Manager, this position will be responsible for multiple projects at any given time. This will involve the coordination of construction projects with the necessary hands on involvement to ensure jobs adhere to specifications and are completed on time and within budget. This position will be hybrid, with some remote & in office expectations. The successful individual must be flexible to spend time in other provinces outside their home region for business related purposes.
What you can expect:
- Regular job site visits providing hands on assistance as needed
- Assembling shop drawings packages for submission
- Develop a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of project following a logical pattern for utilization of resources
- Selects and coordinates work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project
- Attending construction meetings with appropriate follow up in order to resolve issues
- Oversees performance of all trade contractors and reviews engineering drawings to make sure all specifications and regulations are being followed.
- Ordering & ensuring delivery of materials to job sites
- Responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and for obtaining all necessary permits and licenses
- Reviews Foreman reports, checks on difficulties and corrects and any safety violations or other reported deficiencies.
- Interaction with contractors, engineers and customers
- Technical support for Sales staff, including assisting with estimating of project scope during bid process.
- Liaise with Finance to ensure bill processing
- Tracks and controls construction schedule and associated costs to achieve completion of project within time and monies allocated.
- Reports to client about progress and any necessary modifications of plans that seem indicated.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years Project Management experience in the Construction Industry
- Post Secondary education in a related field, preference given to candidates with a C.E.T Designation.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Strong ability to read and understand blueprints
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven ability to liaise with clients and consultants in the management of site staff and subcontractors in multi-disciplinary teams
- Proficient computer skills, working knowledge of MS Office Suite and AutoCAD required.
- Flexible to travel
- Ability to work in a team environment along with strong management skills.
- A demonstrated ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines, and effectively prioritizing multiple responsibilities.

About Our OpportunityLink Nova Scotia is looking to hire two (2) Senior Project Managers working with the Engineering Division and Planning Division.
The Senior Project Manager(s) plays a pivotal role in identifying and implementing innovative solutions, focused on leading a range of strategic transportation initiatives from Link Nova Scotia's mandate and the Regional Transportation Plan. They will foster alignment across jurisdictions, coordinate cross-functional project teams, and ensure timely and effective implementation of transportation priorities. They will also provide leadership in the development of strategic plans, policies, and programs that enhance regional mobility, improve infrastructure performance, and strengthen connections between communities.
With a strong background in project management practices and demonstrated experience guiding complex transportation initiatives from planning through to implementation, the Senior Project Manager will play a key role in advancing multi-modal transportation initiatives that supports the safe, equitable and resilient movement of people and goods. The role also requires strong collaboration with internal teams, external consultants or technical advisors, and a broad network of partners from municipal, provincial and federal organizations.

Primary AccountabilitiesAs Senior Project Manager, your primary accountabilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Leading or supporting the planning, development and implementation of strategic transportation projects of varying scales and complexities, that align with the province's planning and infrastructure priorities.
- Applying project management best practices, including development and oversight of project charters, work breakdown structures, budgets, schedules, and risk management tools to ensure delivery on time and within scope. This will include understanding of innovative procurement approaches to accelerate project delivery and implementation (e.g. progressive and collaborative design-build approaches, early works contracts, and accelerated construction techniques).
- Developing and fostering relationships with subject matter experts from Link Nova Scotia's Core Partners, agencies and government departments to ensure alignment across initiatives and projects related to transportation and land use planning, engineering, and operations creating a culture of information sharing and collaboration among partners, agencies and departments.
- Fostering a diverse network of strategic partnerships with other departments, multiple federal ministries/agencies/crowns, municipal governments, first nations, and other external organizations and groups to identify transportation needs, opportunities, goals, and objectives, and develop innovative solutions to address them.
- Coordinating and leading public and stakeholder engagement efforts, including conducting workshops, public meetings, stakeholder interviews, to solicit input, gather feedback, and build consensus on transportation projects and initiatives.
- Coordinating the use of common, long-range population projections and demographic planning tools to help the agency and its partners make informed transportation infrastructure investment decisions.
- Ensuring effective planning by participating in cross-departmental infrastructure planning committees considering mobility, land-use, and demographic trends.
The ideal candidate will have a university degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Civil Engineering or Planning), plus several years of project management experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a professional role managing projects. Professional certification in project management (e.g. PMP) would be an asset. An acceptable equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
In addition to the above, the following skills and experience are required:
- Transportation Expertise: Experience with transportation infrastructure and systems planning, design, and delivery processes, as well as strong understanding of transportation policies, regulations, and funding mechanisms at all levels of government.
- Project Leadership: Proven track record of successfully leading and managing large-scale transportation planning and infrastructure projects and programs, from conception to completion.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and foster a culture of teamwork and innovation.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled at building and maintaining relationships with municipal, provincial and federal partners, industry associations, consultants, and contractors, with the ability to navigate complex political, regulatory, and organizational environments, building consensus and driving change in support of transportation goals and objectives.

**What you'll bring to WSP:**
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering (Civil preferred) from an accredited institution.
+ Registration as a Professional Engineer in a Canadian province or territory.
+ 10+ years of progressive engineering experience in Canada or abroad, with 8+ years in project management roles.
+ Proven expertise in airside infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, and apron designs-experience in both rehabilitation and greenfield projects is highly valued.
+ Familiarity with Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), TP312 5th Edition, and international standards (ICAO, FAA).
+ Knowledge of navigational aid system design and planning is a strong asset.
+ Proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
+ Skilled in developing and managing complex project schedules and programs.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative leadership style and the ability to mentor and motivate others.

Stantec's Community Development team is growing in Atlantic Canada and we are leading an increasing amount number of exciting planning and development projects with multi-disciplinary and integrated service offerings. This includes projects in the private and public sectors such as redevelopment plans, new community and town center plans, housing studies, streetscape and infrastructure projects, and a variety of urban planning related projects. We are seeking a Senior Planner within our Community Development team ideally based in our Moncton, Halifax, Fredericton, or Charlottetown offices. The role spans a broad range of disciplines and would suit an individual with strong design background in urban, regional, and rural planning and design. A background in urban design or landscape architecture would also be considered a valuable asset. Your focus in this role will be ensuring consistent and high-quality deliverables and bringing your subject matter expertise to inform and offer value to our clients. As a 32,000-person interdisciplinary firm, the business and career opportunities within Stantec are extensive. While part of this larger team, your work will primarily be based within a collaborative planning and design team serving our Atlantic Canadian market.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Planning and design tasks: development of preliminary concepts into workable and approvable plans including collaboration with lead designers, engaging with other disciplines, client interaction, design analysis and statistics, proof of concept analysis, and guidance of design rationale across a project team.
- Reporting tasks: writing and contributing to design briefs, reports, and presentations in support of project reviews and approvals.
- Graphic tasks: production of diagrams in support of urban design/planning tasks. Ability to support/prepare 3D views, sketches, renderings and models in design programs such as SketchUp, Lumion, etc. would be considered an asset.
- Support complex and comprehensive planning and development projects, including municipal plan reviews, master planning, development applications, active transportation planning, development applications, redevelopment and neighborhood plans and strategies, and municipal policy projects from a planning and urban design perspective.
- Community consultations: Lead and support various virtual and in-person public engagement activities for project and business development related work.
- Support business development and marketing initiatives including strategic planning, opportunity identification, proposal pursuit and preparation, client liaison, preparation of on-line marketing content and social media monitoring.
- Maintain and strengthen client relationships and play a key role in client management and satisfaction.
- Interface directly with clients and provide clear, well-articulated and solution-oriented recommendations; and
- Demonstrate active coaching skills when interacting with other team members.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Ability to action and deliver design projects with a high level of independence.
- Comprehensive understanding of planning and urban design principles specifically as it relates to urban, regional, and rural planning and placemaking, climate change and resilience, emerging innovations, and development economics.
- Strong understanding and working knowledge of built form typologies, building structures and requirements, parking, vertical circulation, and general construction methods for mixed-use, residential and commercial uses.
- Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal and time management skills with the ability to function in a high volume, challenging environment. The ability to communicate in French is considered an asset.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting before clients, Planning Advisory and Design Review Committees, and Planning Commissions and Councils.
- Project budgeting, time, and workflow management skills an asset.
- Highly effective in collaborating on multi-discipline teams on complex projects.
- Able to proactively identify potential problems and risks and to develop and articulate potential solutions, explorations and innovations, particularly in client meetings and engagement.

Education and Experience
