Summary:We are seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst for Fire, Communication, Automation and related Smart Building products. The successful candidate will be responsible for verification and stability testing of our products and additionally will have to perform pre-certification testing for regulatory bodies such as UL, ULC, FM and CSFM. This role is a full time permanent role located in our Vaughan Office.
- Develop test strategies and procedures for design verification of networked fire alarm control panels and system configuration tools.
- Develop documentation of test procedures and regression test plans.
- Perform features, functions, stability, and regression testing of products.
- Design, implement, and manage own lab test networks.
- Coordinate testing activities with the rest of the QA test group as well as with the Product Developers.
- Assist in reproducing customers’ issues in the QA lab.
- Provide feedback to developers to improve the usability of the products.
- Ensure work is performed in compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and company procedures.
- Diploma in electronics or electro-mechanical related technology.
- Degree in electrical, software or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum 2+ years of QA test experience. (or related experience).
- Strong working knowledge of wired and wireless networking protocols.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and networking equipment setup and operation.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based software.
- Ability to use network protocol analyzers for troubleshooting and analysis of networking and communications issues.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Self-motivated and works well in a team environment.
- Experience with JTAG, BDM, FPGA Programming and other debugging tools is an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
- Experience with Real Time Operating Systems.
- Experience working with electronic circuitry, engineering lab test equipment.
- Ability to read schematics and modify hardware is an asset.
- Experience with issue tracking and test management tools i.e. JIRA, TestRail, etc…

Compensation
At Traction Rec, we are committed to a fair, market-based and equitable compensation structure. Our market data is refreshed on an annual basis to reflect the most current market conditions.
The starting salary band for this role is $75,000-$85,000. Starting salaries will vary within this range based on experience, skill level, and internal equity related to the role.

+ Experience of technical areas and tooling: Network tools, Performance tools, Analytics tools, API test tooling, Automation frameworks, device farms, or similar

**Required Skills & Qualifications**
+ **Experience:** 9+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with a strong focus on data quality in backend testing.
+ **Backend & API Automation:** Strong experience in test automation using Java for backend systems and API testing.
+ **Test Framework Design & Implementation:** Experience in designing and implementing test frameworks for automation testing, including defining test architecture, reusable components, and best practices.
+ **Test Planning & Execution:** Hands-on experience with test planning, test designing, execution, performance testing, and stress testing, implementing, and maintaining a quality test automation framework.
+ **Python Experience:** Hands-on experience in developing automation scripts using Python.
+ **SQL Proficiency:** Proficiency in SQL for complex data validation, querying large datasets, and data manipulation.
