Reporting to the Director of Software Development, the QA Manager is responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance department at WinAir, ensuring high-quality output for each sprint and project. The role involves managing the QA team, monitoring test milestones, and ensuring the team follows best practices. The QA Manager works closely with internal teams and senior management to deliver projects on time and at the highest possible quality, while assisting with other duties as assigned to support continuous quality improvement and team development.

Responsibilities

Managerial

• Provide mentorship, guidance, and leadership to the QA team, fostering a collaborative environment.

• Monitor the progress of the QA department, ensuring high-quality output for each sprint and project. Ensure QA staff are prioritizing and tracking defects and issues correctly. Recommend corrective actions when necessary.

• Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Development, Product Management) to share information on QA issues, processes, and best practices.

• Chair QA scrum meetings, track the progress of QA tasks, and ensure timely completion of testing activities.

• Assign QA tasks to staff based on objective criteria, ensuring balanced workloads and efficient resource utilization.

• Take initiative to research and propose new solutions, process improvements, and testing methodologies. Drive innovation and creative solutions for problems encountered during testing.

• Conduct employee reviews for QA team members in collaboration with the Director of Software Development. Provide constructive feedback and support career development.

• Assist in the hiring and onboarding process for new QA team members, ensuring they are integrated smoothly and equipped with necessary tools and knowledge.

• Participate in production management meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding project progress and QA concerns.

Regular QA

• Develop and execute manual and automated test scenarios to verify software functionality and performance.

• Assist with developing QA standards, processes, and metrics to ensure consistency and efficiency in testing efforts.

• Identify and report issues discovered during testing. Collaborate with developers to track defects, suggest solutions, and ensure timely resolution.

• Prioritize and focus testing efforts based on areas of concern, areas requiring modifications, and ongoing development goals.

• Use tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence) to report and track bugs and defects, ensuring all issues are addressed before release.

• Maintain your own testing environment using sample field data to simulate real-world conditions.

• Propose appropriate solutions to problems encountered during testing and implement improvements based on test results.

Education & Experience

• Minimum of a College Diploma or University Degree in Software Testing, Programming, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in a QA specialist role.

• Previous managerial experience is an asset.

Quality (QA) Manager for Delon Laboratories. We are a large personal care cosmetics and topical OTC manufacturer supplying customers and brands across the globe. Manufacturing facility plays a crucial role in ensuring that the production processes, products, and facilities comply with industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and internal quality protocols. Their work helps guarantee that products are safe, effective, and of high quality before they reach customers and consumers.

Key Responsibilities of a QA Manager :

1. Quality Systems Management:

• Establish, monitor, and maintain Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and regulatory requirements (e.g., HC, FDA, EU etc).
• Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch records, and documentation relevant to filling and production operations.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for any quality issues identified during audits or inspections.

2. Process Oversight and Validation:

• Oversee the production processes to ensure they meet quality standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Manage process validation, cleaning validation, and equipment validation to confirm consistent product quality.
• Monitor critical process parameters, including fill volume, sealing, sterilization, and container closure integrity.

3. Batch Record Review and Release:

• Review batch manufacturing records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Authorize the release of finished product batches after thorough review of quality test results, batch records, and deviation reports.
• Ensure that any deviations from the process are documented, investigated, and resolved before product release.

4. Quality Control and Testing:

• Collaborate with the Quality Control (QC) team to ensure that raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products are tested and meet specified quality standards.
• Implement stability testing programs to confirm product shelf life and potency over time.
• Address out-of-specification (OOS) results and ensure proper investigation and resolution.

5. Audits and Inspections:

• Prepare the facility and team for internal audits and external inspections by regulatory authorities.
• Conduct internal audits to identify compliance gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate responses to audit findings and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.

6. Training and Compliance:

• Develop and deliver training programs for employees on quality assurance, GMP, and safety procedures.
• Ensure that all personnel involved in operations are adequately trained and comply with SOPs.
• Promote a culture of quality and compliance within the facility.

7. Risk Management:

• Conduct risk assessments related to the production processes, equipment, and facility environment.
• Implement strategies to mitigate risks, such as contamination, cross-contamination, or equipment failure.

8. Change Control Management:

• Manage change control processes to ensure that any changes to equipment, processes, or formulations do not impact product quality.
• Review and approve changes in formulation, packaging, or equipment to ensure they meet quality standards.

9. Continuous Improvement:

• Analyze quality metrics and performance data to identify areas for process improvement.
• Implement Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other quality improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.

10. Managing Departments

• Ability to manage their team and departments.
• Delegate and monitor work load and ongoing tasks in order to make sure work is distributed correctly, followed up in a timely manner, and dealt with accordingly.
• Ability to conduct performance reviews, to hire/terminate personnel to make sure the team is running smoothly, efficiently and to its full potential.

Skills and Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in sciences, chemistry, biology, or science related field.
• Experience: Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment + managed departments successfully.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of GMP, FDA EU regulations, quality control, and validation processes.
• Skills: Attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving, project management, leadership, and communication skills.

We're looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Metrologist / QA Manager to lead our quality and metrology efforts.

Position Overview:

The Senior Metrologist/QA Manager is responsible for overseeing the metrology lab and ensuring compliance with all quality standards across the organization. This dual-role leader will develop and implement quality control systems, manage audits and certifications, and lead a team of technicians and quality personnel. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in metrology, along with leadership experience in quality systems management (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 17025).

Key Responsibilities:

Metrology:

• Oversee all calibration and measurement activities, ensuring traceability to NIST and NRC standards.
• Program and operate advanced metrology equipment (e.g. Fluke METCAL software, Fluke 5550A, Fluke 6105A, Fluke 8588A, Fluke 6270A).
• Develop procedures and measurement strategies for complex equipment.
• Analyze measurement data and provide guidance on conformity and process improvement.

Quality Assurance:

• Maintain and improve the company’s QMS; ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
• Lead internal and external audits, including customer and regulatory audits.
• Manage non-conformance, CAR, and document control systems.
• Train and mentor quality team members on inspection techniques, root cause analysis, and quality tools.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across departments.

Leadership & Management:

• Supervise and develop a team of metrologists, technicians, and QA personnel.
• Collaborate with calibration and renewal parts teams to resolve quality issues.
• Report on key quality metrics and lead quality reviews with management.

Qualifications:

• Certified Electronics Engineering Technologist (CET) or equivalent.
• 7+ years of experience in metrology and quality assurance within a regulated industry.
• Strong understanding of Fluke’s METCAL (Metrology and Calibration) software.
• Proficient in the use of precision measurement equipment and software (e.g., Fluke calibration standards, METCAL)
• Experience with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Background in electrical, pressure, temperature, and dimensional metrology.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or equivalent.
