We are looking to add an experienced functional QA tester to a team of dedicated and professional people. BlackBox QA focuses primarily in the testing of video streaming apps and websites for some of the biggest industry names in North America.

Some experience is preferred as we have a project starting soon and need someone that already understands the process as ramp up time will be more limited than usual. Knowledge on Samsung Tizen, LG Web OS, Xbox, PlayStation, and / or Hisense would be greatly beneficial. We also work on iOS, Android, tvOS, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Vizio, and Comcast - knowledge of those could be useful as well.

Familiarity with any of the following tools is important:

• Charles Proxy
• JIRA

Position is full time (40 hrs / week) and it's an hourly wage somewhere between $18-$2/hr depending on experience. There are many other benefits such as RRSP matching, HSA (health spending account), sick days, etc.

Please note this position is listed as HYBRID. We would like to do some in person training at our office in Verdun, and gradually the position would be more work from home.

We are looking for Software Quality Assurance Co-op students to support our QA team in ensuring the highest standards of software quality. The position is focused exclusively on Manual QA tasks, and does not involve coding responsibilities. As a co-op, you will be responsible for testing software applications to identify defects and ensure the functionality meets the requirements and expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct manual testing of software applications to ensure functionality, performance, and usability meet the required standards.
• Create, execute, and document test cases and test plans based on project specifications and requirements.
• Identify, report, and track defects in the software using our defect tracking system.
• Collaborate with developers, project managers, and other QA team members to ensure a smooth and efficient testing process.
• Participate in team meetings and provide input on quality assurance processes and practices.
• Assist in the preparation of test data and perform regression testing as needed.
• Verify that fixes are correctly implemented by retesting issues and ensuring resolution.
• Maintain thorough documentation for testing activities and results.

Requirements

• Must be a Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) or Citizen to apply.
• Enrollment in a recognized post-secondary program (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering).
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for ensuring quality in software products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
• Prior experience in manual software testing or quality assurance (preferred but not required).
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and testing methodologies is an asset.

Our public sector client requires an Enhanced Reliability Cleared Senior Quality Assurance Tester to support the modernization projects as well as the maintenance of its legacy systems in the public sector.

Responsibilities:

a. Develop the test strategy and Master Test Plans.
b. Develop test scenarios and test scripts.
c. Lead testing efforts as defined in the testing strategy.
d. Manage and monitor test plans for all levels of testing.
e. Manage walkthroughs and reviews related to testing and implementation readiness.
f. Establish and maintain source and object code libraries for a multi-platform, multioperating system environment.
g. Establish software testing procedures for unit testing, integration testing and regression testing with emphasis on automating the testing procedures.
h. Establish and operate "interoperability" testing procedures to ensure that the interaction and co-existence of various software elements, which are proposed to be distributed on the common infrastructure, conform to appropriate departmental standards (e.g. for performance, compatibility, etc.) and have no unforeseen detrimental effects on the shared infrastructure.
i. Establish a validation and verification capability which assumes functional and performance compliance.
j. Provide status reporting.
k. Prepare reports on the effectiveness and defects to the operation/engineering team.

Must Have: Experience leading the testing and quality assurance of a software development or application maintenance
Experience maintaining automated testing framework for regression testing
