JOB DESCRIPTION: QUALITY INSPECTOR
- Read & Interpret drawings, 5 years (Preferred)
- Ensure that existing standard operating procedures, quality programs and welding procedure specifications are being followed by company staff
- Perform weld inspection as per Code
- Supervise welding certification of new hires
- Minimum Level 2 CWB certification
- Review welding specifications and/or requirements for each project and work with team to solve fabrication challenges
- Identify project quality control requirements and ensure they are always met
- Review project drawings and specifications, developing inspection and test plans and implementing them
- Inspect materials and finished goods to ensure they meet Code, customer requirements and/or contract specifications, including but not limited to checking welds, welding consumables, base material, cut & formed parts, layout work and coatings
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, above average level of expertise in business office applications are a must.
- Working knowledge of welding, metal fabrication and machining processes.
- Working knowledge of CWB W47.1, W47.2 and W59 and AWS D1.1 and D1.7standards.
- Experience in development and implementation of QC programs, SOPs, PQRs and WPS.
- Familiarity with requirements of the custom metal fabricating industries.
- Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
- Perform source inspections, in-process inspections and final inspections
- Communicating required adjustments to shop foreman and returning products for re-work, confirming re-work through proper system (both in ERP and procedurally)
- Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, inputting data into quality database
- Perform all daily inspection and test of the scope and character necessary to achieve the quality required in the drawings and specifications for all works under the contract performed ON or OFF site.
- Taking care of QA/QC documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports, materials delivered and other QA/QC documents.
- Perform inspections, reports and archiving documentation and collecting and filing the required Quality Records.
- Carry out inspection and checking for all quality related procedures in all Channel workshops and ensures activity at all shops are as per approved method statement and inspection test plan.
- Evaluates the qualifications of welders and Non Destructive Test-NDT technicians with regard to the activities assigned.
- Perform precision dimensional measurements
- Review production documentation for compliance and adequacy of inspection and as necessary, develop required inspection criteria for the production of quality products
- Analyze compliance with applicable quality elements, relevant standards and processes and initiate any required corrective and preventative actions; verify the response and effectiveness of the implementations
- Ensure products meets or exceeds internal and customer requirements
- Work with production, purchasing and engineering to ensure the quality requirements of production parts are met
- Dealing with the Client for all the Quality matters and coordinates with client’s QA/QC departments for inspection and meeting about quality problems including the closure of Non-Compliance Report.
- Required to participate and oversee all the internal/external audits.
- Accomplish the Quality Control functions/activities of a project or its parts, including Quality Control inspection schedules and the collection of Quality Records.
- Develop and Assesses the implementation of the Quality Plan and Quality Control Plans on shops

The Quality Control Inspector will be performing first-off, in-process, and final inspections of Steelhaus products. The Quality Control Inspector will coordinate with other departments including assembly, manufacturing and shipping/receiving.
Position Details
Status: 3-month contract
Shift: Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Location: Calgary, NE
Duties and Responsibilities
- Protecting their own and others health and safety at or in the vicinity of the work site.
- Cooperating with their employer or supervisor by following health and safety rules for the job.
- Using all hazard controls and wearing personal protection equipment designated or provided by the employer or required by the OHS legislation.
- Refraining from causing or participating in harassment and violence.
- Reporting health and safety concerns and conditions to their employer or supervisor.
- Participating in any training provided by the employer.
- Cooperating with any person exercising a duty under the OHS legislation.
- Communication with their colleagues, supervisors, and managers.
- Prepping equipment prior to inspection.
- Verifying dimensions of parts machined using micrometers, calipers, other precision measuring instruments.
- Perform first article inspections on all product runs.
- Perform final quality inspection and dimensional inspection, verification of marking of manufactured parts and components.
- Verify MTR heat numbers as defined on manufacturing travelers.
- Initiate Nonconformance reports (NCRs) for all parts that do not meet requirements.
- Identify and segregate NCR parts.
- Assist in the maintenance of the NCR Area as required, and ensure parts are identified.
- Identify tools requiring calibration and perform calibration of measurement tools.
- Maintain emails, perform photocopying and printing.
- Responsible to identify needs for consumables.
Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience
- Demonstrate understanding of parts drawings and GD&T.
- 2+ Years in a similar role.
- 2+ Years experience in a machining or assembly shop environment.
- Demonstrate experience using a variety of hand inspection tools.
- Experience with specialized measuring instruments preferred, such as:
- Surface Finish Gauge,
- Wall Thickness Gauge.
- CMM is preferred.
- Able to demonstrate basic computer skills (MS Office).

Job Summary:
We are urgently hiring an Electrical Quality Control Inspector for an upcoming assignment at Cigar Lake Mine in Saskatchewan. Youll be responsible for ensuring all electrical installations meet project specifications, code requirements, and client standards.
This is a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) role on a 14/14 schedule. Flights leave out of Saskatoon on Fridays at 7:00am. Candidates must have electrical inspection experience and hold a valid Red Seal Electrician certification .
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections on electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with CEC, CSA, SaskPower, and client standards
- Identify deficiencies and follow up on corrective actions
- Create and manage punch lists, inspection records, and quality reports
- Support pre-commissioning and final acceptance testing
- Track inspection progress, rework hours, and pass/fail rates
- Liaise with site supervisors, electricians, and project management teams
- Participate in client walkdowns and assist with turnover documentation
- Promote and adhere to all site health, safety, and environmental policies
Requirements:
- Red Seal Construction Electrician certification (mandatory)
- Previous experience in quality control or electrical inspection
- Strong knowledge of CEC, CSA, and SaskPower standards
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Comfortable working in remote, high-safety environments
- Valid Class 5 drivers license and clean drivers abstract
- Able to pass a Criminal Record Check and Drug & Alcohol Test

The Electrical Quality Control Inspector is located in Pickering and typically reports directly to the QC Manager. The quality control inspector is responsible for performing daily inspections and test activities for receipt, processing, and final inspections and tests as instructed by the QC Manager. The Electrical QC Inspector is accountable for documenting all inspection and test activities in accordance with the various QA programs of Black and McDonald PGR. The Electrical QC Inspector is responsible for working with other groups during the implementation of the Quality Program activities. The Electrical QC Inspector shall ensure the highest degree of employee and plant safety, as well as quality standards, are met.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform work activities in a safe manner and in compliance with Black and McDonald Safety Program and those of our customers
- Perform receipt, in process and final inspection and test activities including maintaining accurate inspection and test status of items
- Perform special process monitoring activities
- Ensuring correctness of Work Sign-off activities as related to inspection and test activities
- Aid with the implementation of the Quality Management System and Programs within PGR
- Preparation or review of Inspection and Test Plan(s)
- Coordination for Project QC activities, including interfaces with client or outside organizations (subcontractors)
- Accurate and timely verification of inspections and tests shown in the Inspection and Tests plans or as otherwise assigned by the QA Manager
- Documentation of the results of the inspections and tests as required
- Ensure proper use and safe handling of measurement and test equipment, including recording where used
- Identify and control nonconforming items according to Black & McDonald Procedures

+ Create comprehensive dimensional reports from CMM data and conventional measuring equipment.
+ Document and report inspection results and Completed Purchase Orders. File, scan and archive as necessary.
+ Perform product identification and traceability activities, as required.
+ Sign off MCS for completed operations inspected and if witness was required work with customer and BWXT Witness to get MCS signed off.
+ Interpret customer drawings (including geometric tolerances) and technical information packages.
+ Assess part compliance, initiate NCR and follow through NCR process for disposition and timely closure.
+ Safely move components including the use of lifting devices such as overhead cranes and jib cranes as applicable.
+ May be required to assist with Quality Surveillance of sub suppliers.
**KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:**
+ Technical Diploma in Quality or relevant field.
+ 0-2 years working in quality control and/or receiving environment.
+ Proficiency interpreting complex manufacturing drawings with GDT specifications to determine the appropriate dimensional inspections to establish compliance.
+ Knowledge of ASME Code, ISO 9001, CSA N285.0 and N299 quality programs is an asset.
+ Expertise in the use of appropriate measuring tools and equipment including verniers, calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, height gauges, chamfer gauges, radius gauges, thread gauges, etc.
+ Familiarity with controls required for calibration of measuring and test equipment.

This entry level role will involve inspections of raw materials used to manufacture various products, and in-process and final inspections of finished goods.
Responsibilities will include:
· Inspect incoming parts, subassemblies, and finished products for quality compliance.
· Accurately record inspection and test results.
· Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
· Conduct internal audits and maintain appropriate documentation.

· Coordinate calibration activities for all inspection and test equipment.

· Support the development and revision of Quality SOPs.
· Assist in drafting and updating quality procedures, work instructions, protocols, and checklists.
· Identify quality issues and provide initial recommendations for corrective actions.
· Collaborate with Manufacturing and Engineering teams to provide feedback on assembly procedures.
· Review Device History Records and related documentation to ensure compliance with internal procedures and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).

Education
· Post diploma certificate in Quality Assurance preferred. · Mechanical Technician Diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Certifications
