Responsibilities:- This position is responsible for quality control testing of raw source water, water processing and finished bottled water products to ensure regulatory compliance with the applicable Food and Drug Administration (FDA), State, Local, International Bottled Water Association (IBWA), and Primo Brands North America bottled water and beverage safety and quality standards.
- Perform microbiological and wet chemistry testing on source water, process and finished product samples in accordance with Standard Methods and PWNA requirements (standard operating procedures and policies).
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all analyses and inspections concerning incoming raw materials, water processing treatment equipment and production processes.
- Monitor and maintain manufacturing plant quality assurance programs to ensure adherence to established FDA, State, local, IBWA and PWNA standards.
- Contribute as a member of the Food Safety team to ensure compliance with all applicable bottled water and beverage safety and quality standards.
- Work with production and maintenance departments on various projects as necessary and appropriate.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitization (Clean-In-Place (CIP) duties for the water processing equipment and production areas as necessary and appropriate, according to regulatory standards.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining detailed and accurate records, quality and safety standards.
- Understand and use water processing and mineral batching computer controls to effectively changeover production lines for different bottled water type production runs ensuring all quality control testing is within Primo Water North America specification (s).

**Position Overview:**
As our Quality Control Technician, you will ensure compliance with BWXT's quality program requirements on Field Services projects by performing independent verification of quality-related inspections. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, this role works closely with Site Managers, Field Engineers, and Authorized Inspectors to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.

**Your Day to Day as Quality Control Technician:**
+ Undertake moderately complex technical assignments in support of activities that are part of an ongoing quality program
Perform quality control duties on projects/sites including:
+ Perform monitoring of processes via MITPs.
+ Ensure procedures are adhered to during project execution.
+ Verify and maintain training records electronically in GTS or on paper records.
+ Perform NDE related responsibilities on projects, where union jurisdictions allow.
+ This may be in a radiological environment.
+ Perform material receipt and in-process inspections to ensure compliance to BWXT standards, technical specifications and the ASME code.
+ Assist with the review and completion of Work Packages/History Dockets.
+ Assist with procedure and MITP reviews.
+ Perform vendor source inspection as required.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Post-secondary diploma in NDE or Quality Technology, or related education.
+ 3-5 years of relevant industry experience.
+ CGSB Level 2 Liquid Penetrant certification required; additional Level 2 certifications in other NDE methods are an asset.
+ CWB Level 1 or 2 certification considered an asset.
+ Strong NDE background with solid knowledge of inspection processes; familiarity with ASME Code preferred.
+ Comfortable working in confined spaces and radiation environments.
+ Willing to travel extensively (up to 70%) and work nights, weekends, and statutory holidays, with potential for extended hours (70+ per week).
+ Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
**Security Clearance:**
This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The QC Technician is responsible for safely implementing Quality Control for production and shipping of our products. About the Role
- Responsible for execution of production schedule in a timely manner and within all quality parameters to produce safe quality food

Job Description:
Quality Control Technician ensures product and its manufacturing process meet a food quality and safety standards. Confirming that the process guidelines are followed effectively and safely. Taking responsibility in making sure that the workers follow the guidelines related to GMP, and HACCP. Work closely with Plant Production team & QC/HACCP team to provide quick response to production requests relating testing and inspection. Performs and assists on other QC duties as required. Complete tasks at the request of the QC Manager.
Job Functions /Responsibilities
- Checks the incoming & outgoing product quality as per the standards.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and apparatus and prepare solutions of liquid, reagents, and sample formulations - Communicates as per SOP’s in case of any problem in incoming material.
- Ensures that correct product name and expiry date is labeled on the finished product.
- Monitors TQC, GMP and HACCP Programs and performs record keeping.
- Inspects packaging, storage, and shipping facilities for conformance to company sanitation and safety standards:
- May set up and perform sensory and bacteria tests at various stages of processing from raw materials to finished products, and compiles and evaluates record to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products:
- Based on any discrepancy in the test results, applies quality control procedures like GMP or watch tightly on production process.
- Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of production capacity.
- Ensures General Maintenance Practices by checking whether employees follow proper sanitation procedures such as keeping work area clean, using clean gloves, wearing clean aprons, hardhats, and hair nets, steel-toe boots that can be cleaned and sanitized.
- Ensures that meat product is kept at proper temperature during production and during storage to preserve quality.
- Completes documentation provided by HACCP Program on daily basis.
- Follows laboratory safety policies, company policies, procedures and standards for safety, (GMP’s and HACCP).
- Carries special projects as requested by Supervisor.
Qualifications
- University degree or college diploma in Sciences, preferably chemistry, biology and/or equivalent experience
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook
- Work effectively in an environment where priorities change constantly with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Good GMP documentation skills
- good analytical and synthesis skills in order to participate in problem solving and continuous improvement
Work Conditions
- Overtime may be required. Willingness to take some weekend and holiday on-call shifts.
- Ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend and reach for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity required.
- Lifting or moving up to 60lbs required.
- Typical work hours are from 7.30 am till 4.10 pm but the work hours may change as per the production schedule. Overtime may be required.

Our workplace is a meat processing facility that is an environment of multi-temperatures and varying levels of humidity. We convert live cattle into Federally Inspected beef products. As per the conditions of employment, this position may be required to work in all areas of the plant including the slaughter processing area.
