Job Responsibilities

  • Examine and diagnose vehicles

  • Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor

  • Communicate additional service requests to service advisor

  • Plan work procedures in cooperation with shop foreman

  • Provide labor time estimates to service advisor

  • Monitor repair time and update service advisor regularly

  • Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation

  • Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs

  • Assist in mentoring technician trainees

  • Attend company and OEM training

  • Keep current with factory technical bulletins

  • Understand and follow federal, provincial and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)

Collins Aerospace is looking to hire an **Inspection Technician** who will be reporting to the Supervisor, you will be responsible for Inspection of landing gear parts for crack indication using Magnetic Particle Inspection or Liquid Penetrant Inspection technique. The NDT team of employees collectively maintains the ongoing quality standard for the continuous accreditation of Nadcap requirements.
**Work Location: Onsite at Oakville Facility, Ontario - Canada**
**Shift Hours - Weekday Nights - Monday - Thursday (8:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.)**
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Perform Magnaflux inspection, penetrant inspection, plating inspection (i.e. chrome)
+ Perform all daily, weekly and monthly calibration requirements for Magnetic particle and penetrant inspection
+ Check compatibility of parts/consumables received with accompanying paperwork and rejection notices
+ Participate in internal and external audits to maintain company qualification for NDT Nadcap requirement
+ Work collaboratively with Level III Inspector to develop and follow process technique sheets, audit processes, 5S workplace organization processes and CI (Continuous Improvement) processes
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
**BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:**
+ Grade 12 plus formal technical training (community college) or at least 3 years industry experience.
+ Completion in Level 2 or 3 Certification from Natural Resources Canada for Magnaflux & penetrant; completion of this program is required.
+ Experience in the areas of Magnaflux and penetrant inspection.
+ Experience in reading blueprints (especially engineering specifications).
+ Successful candidates must meet all requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Controlled Goods Directorate (CGD). Must be eligible to work in Canada.

+ Technical writing skills
+ Mathematical skills including the ability to perform both simple and complex calculations.
+ Able to work under minimal supervision in a team environment

This position is based in GEI’s office in Barrie, Ontario with some flexibility for remote work, and includes regular full-time work (40 hours per week). 

Essential Responsibilities & Duties  

  • Compaction testing using a nuclear densometer for engineered fill, bedding, backfill, granular base and sub-base, asphalt, etc.
  • Sampling of soil, granulars and asphalt for laboratory testing.
  • On-site concrete testing or sampling.
  • Subgrade, foundation (shallow and deep), and reinforcing steel inspections.
  • Geotechnical laboratory testing (i.e. water contents, hydrometers, etc.).
  • Materials laboratory testing (i.e. proctors, granular sieves, concrete, etc.).
  • General CAD design.
  • Maintain testing equipment in a good condition and maintain calibration.
  • Prepare field inspection reports.
  • Communicate field results with contractors and supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications  

  • College diploma in Civil Engineering required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Interested in teamwork, autonomous, and organized.
  • Good physical condition.
  • Valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle which may be used to travel to and from site.
  • Ability to work out of town when needed.
  • Available to work on different shifts and schedules.
  • Available to work on weekends on short notice.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The QC Technician is responsible for safely implementing Quality Control for production and shipping of our products.   • Set and communicate job expectations to hourly employees; planning of training; monitoring; appraising job results; coaching; employee discipline; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures

  • Work with the Quality department to prevent and resolve quality issues and root cause analysis
  • Adhere to plant policies and procedures, including SQF, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Lead operation of the production team to ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures are met, including those related to standard costs; cost reductions; productivity; health and safety; GMP; sanitation; customer satisfaction
  • Promote a focus on excellence in all production activities including those required to support optimal quality, yield, and cost containment, and minimal re-work
  • Work closely with senior management team to develop and enforce company quality, health & safety, and productivity goals while ensuring all targets are met and maintained.
  • Responsible for minimizing scrap and maximizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct labour tracking or production orders and demonstrate accountability on productivity of the operators

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in food processing or manufacturing environment, bakery experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Have knowledge of health and safety standards, SQF, HACCP & GMP
  • Degree or Diploma in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Science or related areas of focus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Microsoft Office knowledge required
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, time-management and leadership skills
  • Must be a strong leader and passionate about quality and food safety
  • Forklift licence and experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 30 pounds
  • Be able to stand for lengthy periods
  • Flexibility with work hours and the ability to work different shifts with overtime and weekends, as needed

Job Description:

Quality Control Technician ensures product and its manufacturing process meet a food quality and safety standards. Confirming that the process guidelines are followed effectively and safely. Taking responsibility in making sure that the workers follow the guidelines related to GMP, and HACCP. Work closely with Plant Production team & QC/HACCP team to provide quick response to production requests relating testing and inspection. Performs and assists on other QC duties as required. Complete tasks at the request of the QC Manager.

Job Functions /Responsibilities

  • Checks the incoming & outgoing product quality as per the standards.
    Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and apparatus and prepare solutions of liquid, reagents, and sample formulations
  • Communicates as per SOP’s in case of any problem in incoming material.
  • Ensures that correct product name and expiry date is labeled on the finished product.
  • Monitors TQC, GMP and HACCP Programs and performs record keeping.
  • Inspects packaging, storage, and shipping facilities for conformance to company sanitation and safety standards:
  • May set up and perform sensory and bacteria tests at various stages of processing from raw materials to finished products, and compiles and evaluates record to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products:
  • Based on any discrepancy in the test results, applies quality control procedures like GMP or watch tightly on production process.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of production capacity.
  • Ensures General Maintenance Practices by checking whether employees follow proper sanitation procedures such as keeping work area clean, using clean gloves, wearing clean aprons, hardhats, and hair nets, steel-toe boots that can be cleaned and sanitized.
  • Ensures that meat product is kept at proper temperature during production and during storage to preserve quality.
  • Completes documentation provided by HACCP Program on daily basis.
  • Follows laboratory safety policies, company policies, procedures and standards for safety, (GMP’s and HACCP).
  • Carries special projects as requested by Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • University degree or college diploma in Sciences, preferably chemistry, biology and/or equivalent experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams and Outlook
  • Work effectively in an environment where priorities change constantly with minimal supervision
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Good GMP documentation skills
  • good analytical and synthesis skills in order to participate in problem solving and continuous improvement

Work Conditions

  • Overtime may be required. Willingness to take some weekend and holiday on-call shifts.
  • Ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend and reach for extended periods of time.
  • Manual dexterity required.
  • Lifting or moving up to 60lbs required.
  • Typical work hours are from 7.30 am till 4.10 pm but the work hours may change as per the production schedule. Overtime may be required.
  • May require working evenings and weekends. 

Our workplace is a meat processing facility that is an environment of multi-temperatures and varying levels of humidity. We convert live cattle into Federally Inspected beef products. As per the conditions of employment, this position may be required to work in all areas of the plant including the slaughter processing area.

Reporting to the QC Supervisor, you will have direct responsibility for the Quality Control activities to support the development, manufacturing, and sales of the Kardium products.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • In-process and incoming inspections according to established specifications and procedures inside certified cleanrooms.
  • Producing formal reports of the inspection and measurement results and initiating non-conformity reports (NCR) when required.
  • Implementing 5S good practices to the Quality Control stations.
  • Suggesting improvement ideas related to the Quality Control processes.

  • An ability to interpret mechanical drawings to understand specified dimensional and functional characteristics to be measured, tested, or inspected, including the basics of GD&T.
  • Proficiency with standard measurement tools/systems such as calipers and micrometers.
  • An associate degree or diploma in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, and/or related experience.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication and technical documentation skills.
  • The willingness and ability to take on additional responsibilities as appropriate.

We are looking for a Carpenter & Quality Control Technician to join our Edmonton Homes team. In this role where you'll ensure our buildings meet high standards. You'll ensure construction quality, perform general carpentry tasks, and assist in finishing and repairs. Your work will contribute to our reputation for excellence.

Key Deliverables

  • Perform pre-backfill, framing, and mechanical inspections.
  • Use levels, rulers, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment.
  • Liaise with municipal officials for code compliance.
  • Educate contractors on "Brookfield Best Practices" and quality techniques.
  • Train and mentor junior staff.
  • Document quality control checks and follow up on deficiencies.
  • Work from blueprints and instructions from managers.
  • Perform tasks such as layout, grading, and installing walls, floors, and roofs.
  • Select materials and use hand and power tools.
  • Install partitions, doors, windows, and perform light touch-ups on surfaces.
  • Support various construction operations and audit installed materials.
  • Participate in the Brookfield Safety Program.
  • Train junior staff and contractors on tool use and safety practices.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure safe site conditions.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years of carpentry experience or participation in a carpentry apprenticeship.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and computer skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Relevant safety training certificates.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle.

Physical Requirements

  • Walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, lift up to 100 pounds.
