Job Responsibilities

  • Examine and diagnose vehicles

  • Discuss repairs with shop foreman or service advisor

  • Communicate additional service requests to service advisor

  • Monitor repair time and update service advisor regularly

  • Maintain strict adherence to dealership policies on vehicle care and operation

  • Complete story and/or documentation for client repairs

  • Assist in mentoring technician trainees

  • Attend company and OEM training

  • Keep current with factory technical bulletins

  • Understand and follow federal, provincial and local regulations (such as disposal of hazardous waste)

CSN 32 Avenue is expanding their repair team in Calgary, AB, and are looking for a Pre-Repair Inspection Technician. In this position you will play a crucial role in our mission to provide top-notch automotive repair services.

PRI Technicians complete a disassembly of the damaged area upon initial inspection to discover 100% of the damage (including hidden damage) before the vehicle comes in for repair. The PRI Technician works closely with the Repair Planners to ensure that a thorough estimate is written for the insurance company and the customers.

Career Overview/Responsibilities:

  • Disassemble the vehicle as safely as possible to discover 100% of the damage – including hidden damage.
  • Reassemble the vehicle back to safe driving condition until the repair date which includes temporary panel alignment and burnt bulb replacement.
  • Pre-scan for vehicle fault codes whenever possible.
  • Assist the Repair Planner in determining appropriate repair times and parts to be replaced.
  • Review the final estimate with the Repair Planner to ensure all damage was added to the estimate.
  • Ensure that OEM repair guidelines are followed.
  • Point out any previous damage and assist with Prior Damage SOP.
  • If pre-painting is required, assist in selecting paint code variants.
  • Assist in any scheduled vehicle repairs.
  • Assist in thorough disassembly of any non-drive or non-scheduled vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Autobody Technician Journeyperson Certificate or registered second or third year Autobody Apprentice.
  • Complete working knowledge of the trade and related equipment along with the ability to apply the knowledge in diagnosis and repair work.
  • Able to understand, communicate, read and write English at a level needed to meet job-related task and safety requirements.
  • MUST have your own tools.
  • The ability to think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental standards and procedures and a commitment to safe work habits.

Reporting to the quality supervisor, the technician ensures constant monitoring of the quality of our products. He will also be highly involved in the development, implementation and monitoring of the various quality processes. He will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Ensure an active presence on the production sites;
  • Know the quality system in place and maintain the quality system;
  • Apply quality assurance procedures at all levels of the production line;
  • Ensure effective treatment of non-conformities, from the identification of causes to the deployment of corrective actions;
  • Use measuring equipment and laboratory equipment;
  • Ensure that measuring equipment and devices are calibrated and compliant;
  • Sample raw materials such as agregates and ciment;
  • Cut concrete blocks into coupons for testing;
  • Participate in the optimization and processes’ continuous improvement;
  • Develop and complete various reports related to quality activities, ensuring compilation in the computer system and transmission of results;
  • Participate in the development and updating of technical documents;
  • Achieve quality objectives;
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned.

You will use your manual skills. You will frequently be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23kg). We won't hide it from you, this is a physically demanding position;

• Identify poor workmanship, material defects and incorrect packing of parts - notify appropriate personnel of manufacturing quality issues

• Train Production Associates on product quality requirements

• Required to maintain control of all non-conforming material, segregation, and completion of hold tags.

• Review and assist with the development of SOPs in accordance with Quality System requirements

• Support the NCR process and assist where necessary

• Required to participate in all internal and external audits as needed.

• Required to maintain good housekeeping (5S) principles surrounding the QA work station.

Requirements

Education/Experience

•College Diploma related to Quality Assurance and relevant experience in a manufacturing environment

•AIB or Food Safety Certification an asset

•Must have ISO or TS experience

•Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and ability to analyze data

•Strong knowledge of quality inspection techniques and procedures

•Basic knowledge of injection molding products and processes an asset

•Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook are required

•Basic knowledge on ERP systems an asset

•Must have own reliable transportation

•Able to work continental rotating shifts (day and night)

•Must be able to lift up to 30lbs and stand for long periods of time

About the Role

  • Responsible for execution of production schedule in a timely manner and within all quality parameters to produce safe quality food
  • Set and communicate job expectations to hourly employees; planning of training; monitoring; appraising job results; coaching; employee discipline; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
  • Proactive involvement in maintaining safety rules, conducting safety meetings, employee safety education, and improving safety awareness throughout the organization
  • Schedules equipment and personnel to ensure production requirements/targets are met on a timely basis
  • Adhere to product specification requirements throughout the manufacturing process to maintain the desired product quality results
  • Suggest changes in work flow processes and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department and/or production staff to maintain the lowest level of downtime and product costs possible
  • Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports to effectively monitor production targets, financial efficiency, on-time delivery, continuous improvement efforts, and manufacturing issues
  • Ability to perform setup, operation, cleanup, for each line equipment
  • Work with the maintenance department to assist in prevention / rectification of breakdowns
  • Work with the Quality department to prevent and resolve quality issues and root cause analysis
  • Adhere to plant policies and procedures, including SQF, HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • Lead operation of the production team to ensure that quantitative and qualitative measures are met, including those related to standard costs; cost reductions; productivity; health and safety; GMP; sanitation; customer satisfaction
  • Promote a focus on excellence in all production activities including those required to support optimal quality, yield, and cost containment, and minimal re-work
  • Work closely with senior management team to develop and enforce company quality, health & safety, and productivity goals while ensuring all targets are met and maintained.
  • Responsible for minimizing scrap and maximizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct labour tracking or production orders and demonstrate accountability on productivity of the operators

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in food processing or manufacturing environment, bakery experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience
  • Have knowledge of health and safety standards, SQF, HACCP & GMP
  • Degree or Diploma in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, Science or related areas of focus
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Microsoft Office knowledge required
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, time-management and leadership skills
  • Must be a strong leader and passionate about quality and food safety
  • Forklift licence and experience is considered an asset
  • Ability to lift/push/pull 30 pounds
  • Be able to stand for lengthy periods
  • Flexibility with work hours and the ability to work different shifts with overtime and weekends, as needed

Les Vergers Leahy Inc., a leading agri-food processing plant in the production of applesauce, employs more than 280 people spread over several trade shifts. Working conditions are safe and pleasant.
Role
Assist the Laboratory Supervisor and the Quality VP in the coordination of all daily quality control activities.
Responsibilities
More specifically, the selected candidate will have as main responsibilities the following mandates.
  • Perform the required tests and according to the results, give production authorization to start the production lines in the morning
  • Communicate the results of the tests and give instructions to the production in order to adjust the quantities of certain materials added during processing (sugar, vitamin C, sulphites)
  • Develop Certificates of Analysis for batches of finished products
  • Put products on hold that do not meet quality standards
  • Participate in various continuous improvement projects
  • Supervise and monitor pest management activities
  • Take the samples planned according to the environmental control program (finished products, raw materials, water, surfaces, etc.), organize the sending of samples and analyze the results in order to verify conformity according to the program
  • In the event of non-compliance or unsatisfactory situations, perform the risk analysis (health and quality), take the necessary actions to correct the situation and document according to the required requirements
  • Process holds in the system, identify the actions to be taken (if necessary, use AQL-type statistical method), inspect the product held and complete the associated documentation
  • Respond to the various requests of our customers (eg: send Kosher certificates, declaration of allergens, enter information on our customers' websites, etc.)
  • Perform document management of the quality management system including updating documents following change requests
