**About The Role:**
The Software Development & Integration (SDI) Lab houses a variety of physical test benches that simulate vehicle subsystems, enabling engineering teams to develop, test, and validate vehicle electronic control unit (ECU) software.
These benches include ECUs, sensors, actuators, connectors, wiring harnesses, displays and instrumentation tools. They are shared assets used by hundreds of engineers across the organization, both remotely and onsite.
As a **Lab Engineering Specialist** , you will play a key role in building, deploying, maintaining, and monitoring test benches and their supporting infrastructure. You will be responsible for troubleshooting hardware issues, flashing ECUs, and developing tools to support test automation and improve lab efficiency
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Build and deploy component-, subsystem-, and system-level test benches
+ Troubleshoot and repair bench hardware, wiring, and peripheral test devices
+ Flash ECUs using Vehicle Software Configuration Management (VeSCoM) tools
+ Develop and maintain automation script tools to improve testing efficiency
+ Provide technical support and issue resolution for lab users
+ Monitor bench health and maximize uptime across all lab assets
+ Configure and maintain bench test PCs, including deploying Gold Images
+ Support lab infrastructure reliability, including Blue Flag network and power systems
+ Assist with lab procurement and inventory management of tools, hardware, and software critical to SDI Lab operations
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering preferred)
+ Strong hands-on experience in hardware-in-loop test systems
+ Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics
+ Proficiency in programming/scripting with Python or other related languages
+ Experience with automotive Ethernet and CAN tools (e.g. Vehicle Spy, CANoe)
+ Experience with ECU flashing, wiring harnesses, and instrumentation
+ Strong problem-solving ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechatronic systems
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Demonstrated vehicle experience (e.g. AutoDrive, EcoCAR, Formula SAE)
+ Experience with vehicle electrical architecture and embedded software
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills
+ Working knowledge in Linux-based PCs and IT networks

Job Responsibilities:
The Quality Engineer Student at Co-Ex-Tec is an internship or co-op position designed to provide hands-on experience in quality assurance and control within a manufacturing environment. The student will assist the Quality Engineering team in ensuring that products meet quality standards and customer requirements. This role involves supporting quality inspections, data analysis, process improvements, and documentation activities.
*Please note this is a 1 year contract
- Develop and perform non-routine quality tests on materials and processes.
- Maintain up-to-date test instructions and records as per instructions/procedures.
- Perform routine lab testing on finished products with respect to sample submissions, prototype evaluations, cost and scrap reduction programs, quality concerns and production verification.
- Evaluate incoming material by using appropriate test equipment and methods - perform raw material testing as required.
- Acquire and review quotes and select accredited competent subcontractor(s) for testing and calibration not covered at Co-Ex-Tec.
- Create Quality Alerts and Carepoints to effectively communicate internal and external Quality concerns.
- Perform Product Audits
- Assist in supporting containment activities.
- Report all test results in proper format and in a timely manner.
- Assist in the development and launch of all new programs as required.
- Perform life cycle testing to evaluate the durability of Co-Ex-Tec's products.
- Ensure Process capability for all new programs.
- Work with all Manufacturing engineers and Department Process Technicians in resolving any problems regarding manufacturing process capability, using sound Engineering principles and SPC techniques.
- Conduct Program, Routing, and BOM Audits to ensure product is within the quoted standard.
- Perform work cell assessments with focus on process flow, standardization, ergonomics and 5S. Document the current state and make improvements by adding detailed work instructions, including audio / video demonstration
- Perform, direct, and carry out any and all other assignments from time to time as management directs.
- Development and maintaining Operator Instructions, Rework, Change-over procedure and instruction.
- Develop standardized operating instructions for all work centres.
- Optimize all parameters to attain maximum running efficiencies for each job.
- Co-ordinate program launch activities between engineering, tool-room, purchasing, quality and production departments.
- Assist in the process to ensure smooth production launches including prompt and efficient implementation of process improvements
- Provide "hands on" troubleshooting of new equipment and be capable of working with all disciplines to promote team participation.
- Ensure and promote all safety standards, safe operating procedures, good housekeeping practices, all safety issues conforming to the "Occupational Health and Safety Act" and the observance of protective equipment requirements at all times.
- Ensure compliance and enforcement of Customer Specific Requirements, QMS (IATF16949), Health and Safety
- (ISO 45001), EMS (ISO14001), and security (PIP) requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering student at an accredited College or University
- Manufacturing experience, preferred
- Knowledge of Lean principles, 5S, process flow required
- Familiarity with FMEA, APQP, DOE
- Strong technical writing skills
- Ability to effectively use MS Office Programs to edit or create detailed work instructions
- Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- AutoCAD experience, computer literacy required

+ Reporting to the Senior Quality Assurance Manager, the Senior Quality Engineering Specialist (QE) provides support across all business functions and plays a key role in continuous improvement of the Quality Management System and customer satisfaction.
Your responsibilities :
+ Lead and develop an effective Software Quality Assurance program, for both in-house development and supplier software development oversight.
+ Develop and maintain effective Key Performance Indicators, and support corporate Zero Defect Plan for internal and supplier activities.
+ Support and coordinate external customer and Quality Management System Audits.

About the Role
This role is a supply chain professional that plays a central role in developing new suppliers, assessing supplier quality and ensures that products received are free of defects. The SQE is the liaison between our supply chain management team and suppliers to investigate, analyze and resolve supplier quality issues by conducting audits, analyzing trend defects and leading continuous improvement projects in an effort to increase the supplier capability of consistently meeting Wescam's requirements.

+ Supplier Development and/or sourcing
