Were looking for a full-time HVAC/Refrigeration Technician to work with us in the Muskoka and Parry Sound region.


What youll do

  • Install, operate, maintain and repair fixed and mobile refrigeration systems, HVAC systems and associated control equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings or other specifications.
  • Measure and lay out reference points for installation.
  • Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components such as motors, controls, gauges, valves, circulating pumps, condensers, humidifiers, evaporators and compressors using hand and power tools.
  • Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot and overhaul entire heating, ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Start system, set up equipment as per manufacturer specifications and test for leaks using testing devices.
  • Recharge system with refrigerant, check and test regulators, calibrate system and perform routine maintenance or servicing, create reports and log all refrigerant changing.
  • Troubleshoot, then repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems.
  • May prepare work estimates for clients.


Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and high attention to detail. Able to efficiently make decisions related to your job and responsibilities.

Youll travel for work to locations throughout BC, the Yukon and occasionally the Northwest Territories. Our crews typically work 21/7 rotations, travel in and out of various locations, work 10-hour shifts on average, and enjoy the comforts of home in well-maintained crew houses.


As part of our team, you'll ensure that HVAC systems function at their best. Your week might start with a call to a commercial building to diagnose and repair an issue with the HVAC system maybe its a faulty compressor, or a leak in the refrigerant line. Here's what you'll be doing:


  • Accurately troubleshooting electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels including basic knowledge of PLC and/or microprocessors.

A day in the life:

Our qualified Refrigeration Journeymen repair and maintain refrigeration equipment. Typical refrigeration equipment includes display cases, walk-in coolers, walk-in freezers, chillers, and ice machines. If you can service hot as well as cold commercial food equipment that is a bonus! Typical cooking equipment (gas, steam, and electric) examples: dishwashing equipment, ranges, fryers, steamers, and combi-ovens and more. If you are not currently certified, we will support your future training and educational goals. What you bring:

  • Education in appliance service, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience as a refrigeration technician.
  • Valid trade license 313A is required
