What will you do?

Reporting to the Director of Research, you will support CFIB’s advocacy by developing original research on key policy issues impacting small businesses, such as taxation, regulation, and labour. You will design surveys, analyze data, and present findings in a clear, compelling way to influence public policy. You will also collaborate with stakeholders and maintain key relationships to keep CFIB’s research relevant and impactful.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify emerging issues that affect SMEs, including taxation, regulation, and labour policy, and contribute original, data-driven research ideas to support CFIB’s advocacy efforts.
  • Develop and execute research and public policy analysis on the above key issues.
  • Design and review surveys on topics related to CFIB’s research/legislative agenda.
  • Provide data, calculations, and other analysis in response to current policy/economic issues as needed.
  • Present research findings to various audiences as required.
  • Develop contacts within government, the business community at large and policy research organizations to keep current with public policy issues.

What makes a successful Research Analyst?

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, or a related field.

Overview

The Chief Economist & Head of Research is a senior member of Centurion Asset Management Inc.s executive leadership team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and serving on the Investment Committee. The incumbent will champion research-driven thinking, guide portfolio and product strategy through a strong analytical lens, and serve as Centurions public voice on economic trends. This role is essential in positioning the firm as a best-in-class, research-led asset manager.


Responsibilities

Economic Strategy & Research Leadership

Develop and lead a differentiated, repeatable research methodology that guides Centurions macroeconomic strategy, portfolio construction, asset selection, and risk positioning. Take full ownership of the firms flagship research platform, including the quarterly market reviews, macroeconomic outlooks, and an annual strategy periodical presenting forecasts, investment themes, risks, and market positioning insights. Lead the creation of best-in-class thought leadership content, including white papers, capital markets updates, and investor briefings, supporting investment decisions, capital formation, and reinforcing the firms research-driven identity. Capital Formation & Investor Engagement

Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to):
