Intermediate to Senior Designer Research & Development
Titan Trailers is seeking a talented Designer at the intermediate or senior level to join our R&D team and play a vital part in innovating our trailer product line. This role focuses on advancing new trailer designs by utilizing Pro-E and CREO software to develop and refine 3D models, ensuring all work meets Titans high standards and adheres to company guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, drafting, and troubleshooting of both new and existing trailer configurations
- Update technical drawings to reflect the latest Titan standards
- Support custom work orders for in-house repairs
- Collaborate hands-on in the R&D shop to optimize project outcomes
- Communicate with production staff, dealers, and vendors on design-related matters
- Work as part of the R&D team to implement project goals
- Prepare spreadsheets and documentation for R&D purposes
- Report any unusual issues encountered during assigned tasks to the R&D Manager
Qualifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred
- Proficiency in 3D design software (CREO is a strong asset); familiarity with AutoCAD
- Experience designing for the automotive or trailer sector is an asset
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Key Responsibilities:

About the Role
As an R&D Scientist with Actlabs, you will use your education, experience, logic, and creativity to help Actlabs continually improve quality, turnaround time, and cost of sample analysis with an eye on driving additional value to our clients. Working closely with R&D staff and production personnel you will help to formulate R&D strategy and priorities, implement, and manage R&D projects helping to drive continual improvement in all our processes. This position will be working in person at our Global Headquarters in Ancaster, Ontario.
Responsibilities
- Perform research and development so as to improve quality, turnaround time and costs of Actlabs’ methods and processes
- Research and development of new scientific processes, author SOPs for those processes, execute method validation and author validation report
- Formulate research strategy on R&D projects and oversee technicians in the execution of the experiments
- Technical improvement of current scientific processes and subsequent updating of SOPs and validation
- Provide technical training and guidance to technicians and managers with related competence testing
- Interface between QA and Operations - Oversee root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action of data analyst and process owners
- Provide technical support to Actlabs’ network of laboratories (domestic and international)
- Evaluate the adequacy of current and new equipment
- Analyze data and generate final reports for non-routine projects to be issued to clients.
- Prepare and follow quality control procedures to meet SCC accreditation requirements under ISO/IEC 17025 and SCC RGs
- Maintain a safe, clean and efficient work environment in accordance with policies and procedures
What You Bring to the Team:
- Education : M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or Geochemistry
- Experience : Minimum of 5 years of progressive R&D experience in ICP-OES or ICP-MS instrumentation. R&D project management experience is an asset
- Required Skills:
- Excellent problem solving and analytical capabilities
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to prioritize effectively.
- Meticulous work ethic, with excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to innovate and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Excel
- Ability to manage competing demands of short and long-term projects
- Compliance with company’s Health & Safety and professional conduct policies
- Ability to Travel occasionally if required
