Description

Community-Based Research Centre is seeking an independent fundraising consultant for a short-term contract. The Consultant’s mandate will be to identify potential funding opportunities to support fund development/fundraising efforts to end conversion “therapy” practices in Canada. This research will be used to inform fund development activities undertaken by CBRC and the Coalition to End Conversion Practices in Canada.

The Fundraising Consultant/Researcher will be required to submit a report summarizing key research findings, including:

  • Current and upcoming funding opportunities available to CBRC and/or the Coalition to End Conversion Practices in Canada, including government, foundations, and within the charitable philanthropic sector in Canada.

They will be required to meet with CBRC staff and consultant(s) at the start of the contract to understand the work of the Coalition, with additional meetings as necessary.

Potential for contract extension to coordinate the development of a funding proposal on behalf of CBRC and/or the Coalition to End Conversion Practices in Canada

Experience and Skills Needed:
  • Proven experience as a nonprofit Fundraising Consultant or similar role in fundraising

  • Testing the accuracy of ingest applications and the life cycle of the communication
  • Generating sample test data
  • Running various types of traffic for ingest
  • Performing exploratory testing and executing defined test cases on pre- and post-release software to prove that:
    • Features satisfy or exceed explicit and implicit requirements
    • The product delivers an excellent user experience
    • The features integrate with the product suite
  • Designing and writing test cases and test plans as part of feature and regression test suites
  • Working with the automation team to determine which tests can and should be automated
  • Independently troubleshooting and investigating issues that arise
  • Executing long-running tests on pre- and post-release software to prove:
    • The absence of edge condition failures and memory leaks

The Lab Computing Analyst provides technical laboratory services, including multivendor instrument, information technology and validation/compliance services when applicable. The individual will provide the consulting skills required to analyze customer needs and gaps to propose solutions for the desired state. General Description

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline;
    Completed at least two years of study in a relevant program.

  • Prior lab or hands-on mechanical experience (academic, project-based, or work experience).
  • Understanding of basic mechanical and structural principles, including stress, strain, and material behaviour.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada and ability to travel to the lab location daily.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assemblies.
