The Adult Home Share Program helps to empower adults with disabilities to live fulfilled lives. Our vision is for people we support to be treated with respect and be fully included in the community they choose. The Adult Home Share Program works exclusively with adults who live with an intellectual disability, who may have a physical disabilities and medical concerns, or mental health challenges.

All Home Share Providers must be willing and able to:

- Provide a current and valid Emergency First Aid & C.P.R. Certification C
Ideal applicants will have:
- Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Experience working with adults with intellectual and physical disabilities, or mental health challenges;
- Effective communication skills and developed problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
- Positive interpersonal skills; and
- A willingness to include a person in your family and social network.
- Proficiency in A.S.L would be considered an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Perform comprehensive OT assessments to confirm the injured workers current level of functional ability and activities of daily living (ADLs) through standardized testing and/or self-report, while also gathering relevant psychosocial information (e.g., mental health history, coping strategies, and trauma considerations) that may impact function and recovery.
- Attend program rounds and case conferences to contribute assessment findings and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (e.g., physicians, psychologists, physiotherapists, and other allied health professionals) in developing recommendations and care planning.
- Complete detailed assessment reports within 5 business days of assessment completion.
- Provide such other services as may be reasonably required by the Company, and as mutually agreed upon.
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience supporting clients with mental health conditions, including assessment/triage and treatment, is required.
- Experience working with third-party funders is an asset.
- Experience working with pain management is an asset.
Equivalencies may be considered.
Education
- A Masters degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
- Training certificates in trauma therapy, specifically Prolonged Exposure Therapy is an asset.
Professional Registration/Designation
- An active registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (CHCPBC) is required.
- Professional liability insurance is required.
Technical Competences
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams is required. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is also required.
