**Responsibilities**

* Assist the project manager/ superintendent in setting, communicating, and monitoring, project timelines while working with construction superintendents and subtrades to ensure work is completed on-time in alignment with contract requirements.
* Includes collecting and verifying quantity measurements and test results, and preparing documents and reports for project manager review.
* Monitor project deliverables making sure all crews and subtrades are completing work on-budget and to required specifications / schedules.
* Liaise with clients, consultants, and subtrades. Includes attending site meetings, and updating relevant stakeholders or team members on the project progress.
* Ensure all site operations are compliant with all safety regulations and project requirements (such as traffic plans, environmental plans, site occupancy plans, etc.). This includes performing regular worksite inspections and working with support staff to ensure all documentation and reporting is taking place.
* Develop and maintain contract document compliance and schedules.

**Requirements**

* Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management within construction industry.
* Preference given to graduate or current student of a recognized post-secondary program related to civil engineering or construction management is an asset.
* Preference given to candidates with PMP designation.
* Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of individuals in a wide range of situations.
* Must be very proficient in the use of computers, project or construction management software, and Microsoft Office programs.
* Strong organization, time management and people management skills; capable of operating independently with minimal direction
* Must have a driving record free of major infractions and less than 6 demerits.

**What we require:**

- Dozer – cyclone sand construction, road construction, running grade, cutting slope, stockpiling, finished grading, performing successive passes over working area.
- Skid Steer Loader – forward/reverse in tight spaces to spread, smooth and level materials and snow, road construction, running grade, cutting slope, finished grading, loading and offloading rocks, debris, and other materials, effective use of track tilt for executing turns and grade requirements, performing successive passes over working area.
- Grader – spread, smooth and level materials and snow, road construction, running grade, cutting slope, finished grading, effective use of wheel tilt for executing turns and grade requirements, performing successive passes over working area.
- Daily 360-degree inspection of all equipment and company issued vehicles for operational and safety checks
- Willingness to step out of the cab and perform labour tasks if and when required including shoveling tracks, fueling, greasing, and cleaning equipment, operating powered equipment, loading, and unloading of miscellaneous supplies and equipment, and other duties as needed and able to manage up to 50lbs.
- Working DAY and NIGHT shifts outdoors in inclement weather conditions and with shifts regularly longer than 8 hours a day and working weekends.
- Adhere to the crew work schedule and to be prepared for changes and acceptance of the revised crew schedule due to weather delays, client requirements, production requirements, etc.
- Strict attention and compliance with all Company Policies and Procedures, WorkSafe Regulations, Mine Act along with equipment/vehicle cleanliness, maintenance and completing logs.
- Interact positively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Willingness to learn and gain adequate knowledge and experience through training.

**Experience and Certification Requirements:**

- **Heavy Duty Technician Certification or be eligible to obtain the Certification.**
- **Completion of a three- to five-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over three years of work experience in the trade and some high school, college, or industry courses in heavy equipment repair is required to be eligible for trade certification.**
- Knowledge of troubleshooting/repairing CAT is an asset.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting/repairing John Deere and Hitachi equipment is an asset
- Experience in Heavy Civil Earthworks Construction and/or Infrastructure is required.
- **A valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's License or equivalent is required**.
- **A driver's abstract is required and must be obtained no more than 30 days prior to employment start date.**
- Class 3 Driver's License with air brakes is an asset.
- Ability to handle up to 23 kg. (50 lbs.)
- **A reliable means of transportation is required.**
- Proficient English language skills required.

**Education: Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician Certification or equivalent required.**

**PROJECT DETAILS**

Project Name: Mount Bracey Compressor Station

Nearest City: Prince George, B.C (Camp Project)

Shift: 14 Days on/7 Days off

Travel pay: $400/shift

Camp retention: $25/day

**CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES**

* Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed
* Attends and participates in various meetings such as monthly safety meetings, pre-job and tailgate meetings

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES**

* Capable of working well on a team or individually
* Capable of following directions that are spoken or given by hand signals
* Detail oriented with a mechanical aptitude
* Ability to work outside in extreme weather
* Must be capable of getting to the designated job site
* Valid driver’s license
* Must be able to mechanically maintain the equipment
* Must follow Strikes preventative maintenance program, greasing, oil check, hydraulic checks, undercharge checks etc. daily
* Must successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

**Safety Tickets Required**

* CSTS 2020 or Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
* Bear or Wildlife Awareness course
* Standard First Aid CPR-C & AED (St. John Ambulance or Canadian Red Cross) or WorkSafe BC Occupational First Aid Level 1 (OFA 1) Training Certificate
* WHIMIS 2015 (Strike can provide when onboarding)
* Transportation of Dangerous Goods – TDG (Strike can provide when onboarding)
* Ground Disturbance 201
