**As an Engineering Intern, you will:**

+ Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (without rounding).

**Major Responsibilities:**
+ Provides expert advice, guidance, and subject matter expertise throughout the planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and standards.
+ Ensures that municipal design and construction meet technical requirements through comprehensive design reviews, submittal evaluations, and testing. Key responsibilities include:
+ Conducting Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) compliance reviews for proposed upgrades, alterations, maintenance, and new construction to ensure adherence to applicable regulations, codes, standards, and client-specific requirements. **Qualifications**

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

POSITION OVERVIEW :
Under the leadership of the Director of Engineering and Projects Team Lead, the Civil Technologist will work within high voltage substations installing secondary oil containments. They will be involved in all phases of projects from quotation and design to the construction and project closing documentation. RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform complete project reviews including scope of work (SOW), appropriate volume and cost calculations, execution of schedules (guidance), design review prior to bid and release of quotations.
- Conduct on-site visits of installations to ensure quality standards are met and build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and staff.
- Provide technical support during the engineering and construction phases of projects.
- Define project requirements in collaboration with the project team.
- Ensure final designs, as-built drawings, manuals, and QC documentation are in order prior to shipping, installing, or sending to client.
- Responsible for having knowledge of all products availability, the product applications, product benefits and pricing structure.

Position Summary
The Civil Engineering Technologist supports the design and coordination of land and site development projects within our industrial portfolio. Working closely with senior team members, this role assists in preparing designs, conducting site assessments, and helping ensure project approvals and construction progress smoothly.
This position is ideal for a recent graduate or someone early in their civil engineering career who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to large-scale development projects. It offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to develop technical skills in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to civil design tasks for land and site development projects
- Coordinate the design and integration of utilities, grading plans, and drainage systems
- Perform site visits and feasibility assessments, providing technical input and recommendations

- Collaborate with construction and project teams to ensure successful execution and resolution of field issues

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed design drawings (primarily using Civil 3D, and related applications) for a variety of assigned Land Development and Municipal engineering projects.
- Preparing road design and final grading for urban residential development projects.
- Developing engineering drawings and designs for land development and related water resources projects.
- Participating in full-service design of Civil/Municipal engineering projects
- Storm water management, site grading, sanitary sewer and water distribution system design for subdivision and land development engineering projects
- Interpret topographic information required for design.
- Perform site and lot grading.
- Complete the technical analysis of municipal infrastructure components.
- Prepare quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
- Compile as-built records for design and record drawings; and
- Prepare contract documents for project tendering and execute project design drawings.
- Prepare Site Grading, Servicing, Erosion/Sediment Control Plans, Details and Notes in AutoCAD for Site Plan Application.
- Prepare Functional Servicing and Storm water Management Reports in support of Zoning By-law Amendment and Site Plan Application.
- Prepare water/wastewater servicing calculations for proposed land development projects.
- Prepare storm water management quantity and quality calculations.
- Coordinate design with consultant team including but not limited to: architect, landscape architect, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, traffic consultant, hydrogeologist, and geotechnical engineer.
- Prepare formal response letters to approving agencies addressing development engineering comments.
Skills & Qualifications
- Completion of Civil Engineering Degree from an Accredited Institution.
- 2+ years of land development and/or municipal design experience;
- Eligibility for Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) Designation or Applied Science Technologist (AScT)
- Relevant internships;
- Experience in Commercial, Subdivisions and Site Plan Design;
- Strong work ethic and motivation to succeed;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and;
- Must be well organized to be able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $72,000 to $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience, skillsets, and qualifications.
