**About the Job**
The Red Hat Performance and Scale Organization is seeking an enthusiastic engineer to join our OpenShift Platform Performance and Scale Team. This role involves testing, measuring, and analyzing the performance and scalability of Red Hat OpenShift, the leading application modernization platform built on Kubernetes, to support the onboarding and management of AI workloads on OpenShift.
OpenShift serves as the foundation for OpenShift AI, the platform designed for model training, tuning, serving, inferencing, development, and MLOps in a hybrid cloud environment. As such, it plays a vital role in Red Hat's AI strategy and offerings. This role will focus on performance and scale testing of features and solutions geared towards emerging workloads like AI and Data/Analytics to ensure that Red Hat OpenShift can meet the demands of modern applications. The engineer will leverage their knowledge of systems, AI and hardware accelerator performance to theorize bottlenecks and limitations, devise test plans, execute workloads, collect and analyze data, and communicate findings. This role will require the ability to work cross-functionally with product management, engineering leadership, development teams, and quality engineers to measure performance, clearly articulate findings, and address bottlenecks. **What You Will Do**

The salary range for this position is $90,480.00 - $144,660.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

What you do as the Software Engineer at Liferaft

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure OSINT software solutions.
• Build and optimize web scrapers, data pipelines, and APIs to collect and process open-source data.
• Implement machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) techniques for data enrichment and analysis.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and security professionals to refine intelligence workflows.
• Ensure system performance, reliability, and security best practices are met.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest OSINT tools, techniques, and industry trends.
• Contribute to the architecture and design of backend services and databases.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

Requirements

What You Need to Get the Job Done

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Strong programming skills in Python, JavaScript, PHP, Go, or similar languages.

• Experience with web scraping frameworks (e.g., Scrapy, Selenium, BeautifulSoup) and API integrations.

• Knowledge of database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, or NoSQL solutions.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).

• Understanding of security best practices in data collection and processing.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Be part of a team developing the next generation of HF radios with enhanced throughput and networking capabilities, as well as Software Defined Radio networking waveforms for global customers.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the definition, specification, and design of software features.
• Work both independently and as part of a team to develop software according to design and customer requirements.
• Perform integration and test procedures and create reports to ensure product compliance.
• Contribute to the ongoing support of applications and products, both in-house and externally.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in object-oriented software development.
• Experience with Linux operating systems.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Comprehensive understanding of the software development life cycle, including definition, requirement analysis, and design.
• RF experience or knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, VOIP, and RTP is strongly preferred.
• Experience in software design and understanding of design patterns.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in Defense/Military/Aerospace or Radio/RF sectors is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of C# for automated testing.
