The Production Engineering department seeks a technician/designer with experience and a keen interest in one or all of the following; hydraulics, pneumatics, or electrical components - to produce schematics, graphical layout diagrams and bill of material for heavily customizable transport trailers. The Technician will be responsible for ensuring schematics and layouts conform to regulations, trailer specifications and design rules.
Job Duties
- Create detailed air, electrical and hydraulic schematics for custom trailers using Creo/ Creo Schematic.
- Incorporate completed Schematics in the Creo/Pro-E models
- Update and revise current schematics through engineering change procedures
- Interact with production personnel on drawing and design related issues
- Interact with Purchasing department to source parts.
- Verify designs conform to regulations, customer specifications and design data.
- Interact with production dept. to ensure systems function in a safe and stable manner.
- Respond quickly to the shop floors needs in response to addressing issues that may surface during production.
Requirements
- College diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Bachelor of Engineering
- Training and/or experience with Creo, Creo Schematic, or other 2D and 3D CAD is required.
- Training and/or experience with AutoCAD, PLM and ERP software considered an asset
- At least 2 years experience in a related field
- Knowledge of, or experience with trailer design considered an asset
- Knowledge of DOT/SPIF regulation a definite asset
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite.
- Strong work ethic, superior organizational skills and positive team attitude.
- Detail oriented with a sense of urgency
- Mechanically inclined
Working Conditions
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Occasional lifting of moderately heavy objects may be required.
- Overtime as required.
- Some training is available for suitable candidates.
- Must own reliable transportation and hold a valid drivers license

The starting wage for this position is dependent on experience and training. Upon successful completion of a 6-month probationary period the candidate will be eligible to take part in our benefits package, including health, dental, life insurance, Group RRSP and safety boot/clothing allowance.

CAD Drafter- Pile Foundation Design

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled CAD Drafter with experience in preparing pile foundation drawings, including helical piles, driven piles, and concrete piles. The successful candidate will support our engineering team by producing high-quality construction drawings and technical details that align with geotechnical and structural designs for transmission towers, substations, solar racking systems, and other infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare 2D and 3D drawings for pile foundation systems (helical, driven, and concrete piles) using AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
- Develop foundation layout plans, pile schedules, sections, and detailed connection drawings based on engineering input.
- Incorporate soil profile information, site grading, and load data into foundation designs.
- Collaborate closely with structural and geotechnical engineers to ensure drawing accuracy and compliance with project specifications and applicable codes.
- Revise drawings based on engineering markups, design updates, and client feedback.
- Maintain drawing standards and ensure drawing packages are complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
- Assist in the preparation of “Issued for Bidding” (IFB), “Issued for Construction” (IFC), and “As-Built” drawing packages.
Organize and manage drawing files in accordance with company CAD standards
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Civil Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
- 2+ years of CAD drafting experience in foundation design, preferably with focus on deep foundations or pile systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is required; experience with Civil 3D, Revit, or other structural design software is an asset.
- Knowledge of helical pile, driven pile, and cast-in-place concrete pile construction methods.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, geotechnical reports, and structural specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in utility or energy infrastructure projects is considered an asset.
Preferred Skills (Assets):
- Experience with drawing foundations for transmission lines, telecom towers, solar projects, or substations.
- Familiarity with Canadian Foundation Engineering Manual (CFEM) or similar design references.
- Understanding of pile testing requirements, embedment depth representation, and axial/lateral load considerations in drafting.
