Interested in working at a ski resort in Big White this winter? Vacasa is currently seeking a Maintenance Technicians to perform general maintenance tasks and to support the overall quality of our large portfolio of vacation homes. We also manage over 60 hot tubs that require daily water balancing and maintenance. The target start date is mid November 2025 and finished around mid April 2026. Hours can and will vary weekly and seasonally based on business needs but will generally be a 5 days week schedule with two days off to enjoy the slopes.

This is a great role for people looking to live on the mountain for the winter / experience a ski season at Big White. Staff housing available at an affordable rate.

Currently we have 4 spots available for this role.

Compensation

  • $21 CAD / hour.
  • $1000 end of season bonus (must stay until April to receive this)

What you'll do

  • Complete maintenance tasks traveling between multiple different vacation rentals each day at Big White
  • Create a welcoming environment for our guests and owners by ensuring our homes are well maintained: ie. general repairs, preventative maintenance, and inspections
  • Daily checking and water balancing of multiple hot tubs in different locations around Big White (training provided)
  • Respond to guest issues regarding maintenance, as needed including but not limited to:
    • Hot tub troubleshooting
    • Appliance troubleshooting
    • Cable/wifi troubleshooting
    • Basic HVAC troubleshooting
    • Light plumbing
    • Fitting Door locks and alignment of locks and handles
    • BBQ cleaning and troubleshooting
    • Draining and refilling hot tubs
  • Establish and maintain open, collaborative relationships with team members and management team
    • Correspond on a regular basis with your local management team and team members
    • Be available and willing to assist your colleagues and management team when necessary
    • Provide cross-coverage when necessary to ensure urgent issues are addressed
  • Collect and remove trash and debris from guests units
  • Ensure follow through on assigned maintenance tasks using in-house assignment system and respond to time-sensitive maintenance needs
  • Maintain required Maintenance Metrics on efficiency and utilize Vacasa's ticketing system
  • Coordinate with third-party service providers.
  • Attend all mandatory individual and team meetings
  • Moving team members around the resort as required in staff vehicles
  • Other responsibilities as assigned - because every day looks different

Skills and Position Requirements

  • 2 years of basic, property maintenance experience preferred, specific trades experience are helpful but not required
  • Must have extensive customer service experience in some capacity
  • Valid driver's license
  • Self-motivated and customer service oriented
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and using workplace messenger software
  • Ability to properly assess problems and provide / communicate solutions
  • Working knowledge of google sheets, computers and mobile devices
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed to support the needs of the business
  • A working smartphone and ability to download and use work related apps (monthly reimbursement available).

Desired but not required :

  • Experience working with pools or hot tubs water chemistry, etc.
  • A vehicle suitable for use in winter conditions (reimbursements available)
  • Trades experience in plumbing, painting, electrics, carpentry etc. Experience working in cold temperatures

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Availability to work Sunday through Saturday, early mornings and evenings as needed.
  • Occasional need to perform housekeeping and/or inspection duties
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for an extended period of time
    • Reach overhead and below the waist
    • Regularly push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds
    • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
    • Bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and twist
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms

  • As this is a safety-sensitive role, all candidates must undergo and pass a pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Test.
  • Ability to successfully pass a Fit Test including lifting between 50 and 75 pounds.

Compensation Information: $19.00 per hour

Physical Requirement: Light, work activities involve handling loads of 5kg to 10kg; predominantly in an indoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

  • Highly developed analytical skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Working closely and following the direction of the Access Audit Supervisor.
  • Daily monitoring of Lift Ticket and Season Pass Access, Auditing, resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Balancing daily usage and auditing reports.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to exceed the customer’s expectations.
  • Highly organized and efficient in the workplace.
  • Follows company policies and procedures at all times.

Summary:

AGAT Laboratories is currently hiring for an entry-level Laboratory Technician C that has some basic laboratory experience. In this position, the successful candidate will be able to work effectively as part of a team to carry out a variety of sample analysis methods, and will also be able to work independently on laboratory activities. This position will be working in our Mining Geochemistry Lab in Calgary.

Our team is currently seeking technicians who are available for afternoon/evening and weekend work. This role will be contractual and is ending November 15th 2025.

What you will be doing:

  • Perform basic laboratory procedures including sample weighing and preparation of reagents and calibration solutions.
  • Carry our standard procedures for geochemical analysis of soil, rock and ore samples.
  • Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
  • Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot basic to intermediate equipment and instruments (bottle-top dispensers, pipettes, furnaces, hot blocks, etc).
  • Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
  • Meet quality assurance and turn around specifications.
  • Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Upload results using reporting software.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table:
  • Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma or Degree required (or are currently enrolled in a chemistry, geology or other science-related program).
  • 1+ years previous laboratory experience, either industry or academic experience.
  • Experience with basic laboratory chemicals, including handling of acids, and associated safe work practices.
  • Familiarity with basic laboratory Quality Assurance guidelines.
  • An understanding of the principles of chemistry.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow laboratory Standard Operating Procedure documents and guidelines.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency using Excel and reporting results.
  • Mature work ethic, with the ability to work as part of a team in a positive manner in a fast paced environment.
  • Problem solving, communication, organization, and time management.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to lift 25+ pounds on a consistent basis and perform work in a hot environment.

Job Summary
Our Pavement Maintenance Technicians utilize our specialized equipment and apply materials on pavement surfaces in order to provide maximum value for our clients' pavement assets.

Responsibilities
WHAT YOULL DO

  • Use equipment to perform line painting, asphalt crack filling and seal coating, minor asphalt repairs, power washing, and more
  • Plan and facilitate the production of a high-quality project
  • Communicate job status daily with the Operations Manager
  • Maintain a safe, hazard-free job site
  • Additional tasks as required

Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING
  • A G drivers license with a clean driving record (Drivers Abstract is required) and a reliable mode of transportation
  • You are a self-motivated, critical thinker that likes to problem solve
  • You understand the importance of punctuality, organization, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding role with lots of walking, bending, and lifting (up to 75lbs)
  • Ability to work well independently unsupervised
  • Past experience with small engines (like lawnmowers) and/or paint sprayers is an asset
  • An Engineering educational background is an asset
