Position Responsibilities
• Review and co-ordinate the schedule for the shift and adjust labour plan as required.
• Perform daily checks that all pre-production safety, quality, and productivity checks are completed by Team Members.
• Hold start-up shift meeting; perform start of shift activities:
o Review of previous shift information regarding safety, quality, and productivity issues.
o Make work assignment adjustments based on absenteeism, training, etc.
• Walk the production area to confirm 5S, equipment readiness, and material supply conditions are to standard. Facilitate 5S and conduct daily audits. Initiate corrective actions as required for any non-conformance.
• Begin preparing safety, quality, and productivity communication information for next shift.
• Ensure LPA and TPM are completed. Follow up with any discrepancies.
• Review department's hourly targets and provide recommendations to achieve production targets as required (including throughput, yield, and labour efficiency).
• Provide support for daily production. Activities may include covering labour for absenteeism, and/or breaks as required, cycle counting, report auditing and problem resolution.
• Coordinate/manage the Shipping area. Activities include coordinating the JIT and shunt shipments, covering for the Receiver, managing supplier deliveries, making timely CMI entries and maintaining the housekeeping of the docks and computer station.
• Coordinate/manage the warehousing areas. Activities include keeping track of inventories, managing cycle counts, organizing parts/packaging storage, ensuring FIFO system is followed and managing trial parts.
• Verifying packing slips, scanning, and labelling procedures are adhered to. The Team Lead will monitor and provide feedback as required.
• Provide input for Performance Appraisals.
• Collect, analyse, and summarize production results at the end of the shift. Prepare and ensure that shift production reporting is recorded accurately and on time into the Trans4M and Blackhawk system.
• Lead and provide guidance to operators to achieve Company's objectives in a fair manner while ensuring safety, quality and cost standards are met.
• Assist as necessary to ensure that First Off's are completed on time.
• Review all suspect/scrap material and work with support departments to implement corrective actions
• Fill in for temporary leaves from work cell, such as washroom breaks.
• Responsible for part quality and has the authority to stop production, if necessary, to correct quality problems.
• Ensure workers follow the law and Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures and ISO45001 Occupational H&S Management System (OHSMS) and ISO14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) requirements.
• Inform workers about the actual and potential hazards about the job and within their area, and respond to their safety concerns.
• Make sure workers wear and use the right personal protective equipment (PPE) and protective devices and know how to work safely.
• Involved in incident investigation and workplace inspections/safety checks.
• Conduct safety talks or training with the workers, and correct unsafe acts or conditions
Skills/Experience Required
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma with post-secondary education preferred.
Minimum Experience: Minimum 4 years manufacturing experience. Industrial supervisory experience preferred.
Courses Required: Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act, BEST Supervisor Training, Spill Response, TDG an asset, Clark Software, CMI, 5S, IATF 16949 & ISO 14001.
Computer Skills: Good computer knowledge of MS applications and Lotus Notes. Able to work with CMO and Clark database.
Licenses/Permits Required: Not required however counterbalance, scissor lift, reach truck licenses are a benefit.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift up to 25kgs, able to stand for extended periods of time, work overtime as required.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal, reading and written English communication skills is essential.

Position Summary/Objective:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for protecting our core values and ensuring a safe and productive workplace.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Manage a production team of hourly employees, on multiple lines, leading by example and ensuring compliance to company's policies across the shift related to Health & Safety, Environmental Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), as well as Food Safety and Quality,
· Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products including but not limited to developing plans for efficient use of material, machines, and people for their shift.
· Lead by example to train, develop, and inspire production teams to establish a high-performance culture, where we all work coherently to "win" together.
· Responsible for maximizing the efficiency on each line, working collaboratively with other departments (ie. Engineering, Maintenance, R&D, Quality.) to achieve departmental/company goals.
· Lead and drive root cause analysis to identify and eliminate issues that may arise, recommending solutions to avoid reoccurrence.
· Partner with temp agencies as the primary contact to review people requirements, and staff shift appropriately.
· Responsible for reviewing and approving employee hours through the payroll system (ADP), as well as managing vacation requests, upholding the company policy related to time off.
· Work alongside the People & Values team regarding any employee relations that may occur, including assisting with investigations and following the company's progressive coaching initiatives.
· Provide proactive Health & Safety leadership, to ensure that our behaviour-based observations are completed, and accidents/incidents are reported in a timely manner.

Education & Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in engineering, Food Science, Business Operations, or a related field (or equivalent education and experience)
· 5+ years of experience within a Manufacturing environment preferred, with a good understanding of manufacturing processes, regulations regarding safety, quality and GMPs.
o Experience within the food manufacturing field would be an asset.
· Proficient computer skills, including and not limited to Microsoft Office, and familiarity working with ERP.

This position is responsible for ensuring fabrication, Injection and compression molded parts are of the highest quality while using the most cost effective methods to maximize productivity outputs. Directly responsible for the supervision of fabrication, Injection and compression molding while verifying procedures, and monitoring costs and assisting Maintenance Manager with purchasing spares. Leads and coordinates production activities directed at continuous improvement. These activities are to be conducted while ensuring and maximizing safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping and cost control to achieve plant goals.

• Manages staff activities to ensure that the products manufactured daily meet quality and budget as set by the daily schedule.
• Identifies performance and quality issues and formulates action plans to rectify problems as variances occur.
• Provides performance measures, which will enable management to identify performance and downtime issues. Relay any significant change or variance to plant management.
• Exchange information with the current lead hands in order to facilitate optimized production performance and to review safety or quality concerns.
• Actively monitors daily production schedule for planning the labour, raw material resources and machine utilization for the fabrication and molding areas.
• Review with Plant Manager and other Supervisor’s the previous day’s performance, identify variances, and determine appropriate action as well as ensuring that the scheduled goals have been met and projected goals will be maintained.
• Ensures customer satisfaction through schedule attainment.
• Implements and ensures staff adheres to plant health, safety and environmental procedures at all times to secure a safe and efficient workplace.
• Focused on planning smooth operation of the department by ensuring all molding and fabrication requirements are identified at least three days in advance.
• Ensure that company policies and procedures are adhered to.
• Ensures employees are held accountable and support departments are utilized efficiently and harmoniously.
• Responsible for the fabrication, extrusion and molding departments whilst optimizing the usage of labour and ensuring priorities are followed.
• Conduct and maintain systematic surveys in compliance with ISMS Element 23.0 Job Task Analysis. Participate in the creation and implementation of action plans.
• Develops and implements Rules and Work Instructions as identified through JTA’s, Accident Investigations and Risk Assessments in compliance with ISMS Elements 23.0 Job Task Analysis and 31.0 Work Instructions.
• Work in conjunction with Production employees on Machinery/Equipment/Tooling improvements which would enhance Safety and Productivity.
• Conducts, and assists others in accident/incident investigations and quality investigations to determine accident/incident cause and cause of quality defects. (Reference ISMS 11.0 and ISO Quality Management System.)
• Assigns direct reports to meet or better daily planned production schedule. Monitors progress during shift and takes corrective action. Instructs direct reports in most efficient use of machines and tools. Contributes to plant cost reduction effort.
• Ensure that the skill level of all lead hands meets or exceeds the service needs of the company.
Required Skills/Qualifications
• Completion of College or University is preferred
• 5+ years of supervisory/management experience in a related industry is required.
• Knowledge of fabrication, extrusion, injection and compression molding -experience in a rubber manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Must be able to use or can be trained on various types of measuring tools related to our gasket manufacturing process.
• Excellent leadership, problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
