THE POSITION
The position of Vice-Principal of an elementary and high school entails assisting the principal in accordance with the mandate defined by the latter in the management of the instructional, educational and administrative matters of the school.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitoring the academic progress of students of a given level
- Overseeing all building/material related aspects of the school
- Assist in the coordination of the school’s special events
- Taking part in all meetings (level and/or departments)
- Assist in student supervision at noon hour, and as deemed necessary
- Participating in staff performance evaluation
- Produce minutes of staff meetings
- Involvement in I.E.P.s and follow-ups
- Overseeing the school’s discipline policy
- Participating in parent/teacher meetings/interviews as deemed necessary
- Assist in the development of curriculum
- Assist new teachers in their integration
- Someone who will explore the ways to effectively implement the reform
- And any other related tasks deemed necessary
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in education or an undergraduate degree in a relevant field of study certifying a minimum three-year university program or hold a senior executive or senior staff position, excluding that of manager, in a school board
- Five years of relevant experience in a teaching or non-teaching professional position
- A permanent teaching licence issued by the Minister
- A graduate university program including a minimum of 30 credits in administration related to a senior staff position in a school.A minimum of six credits must have been acquired prior to the first appointment to a senior staff position in a school and the remaining credits during the five years following such an appointment.
- Excellent proficiency in oral and written English and ideally in French.
- A high degree of interpersonal & communication skills.
- Ability to outreach to the community and stakeholders.
- Up-to-date and sound overall pedagogical knowledge and visionary educational leadership abilities.
- Ability to assist the Principal in promoting and sustaining teamwork.
- A strong sense of ethics and a definite advocate of best teaching practices.
- Support Principal to ensure students are provided with a school that is secure, stimulating and a place where everyone can learn and grow.

We teach students HOW to learn French. We help students improve their academic and study skills in a small group setting. We have a lot of fun! Our class sizes are small with a maximum of three students per teacher. We provide all of the curriculum and lessons. Teachers do not need to lesson plan. Our teachers explain and guide students through the provided material and help students talk about their understanding.
Position Requirements
All Teacher-Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after-school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm) as well as some Saturdays (10:00am - 3:00pm). A commitment until the end of the school year is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. Candidates must possess a strong background in spoken and written French and English and be comfortable teaching up to a Grade 9 level, but up to Grade 12 is preferred. The candidate is required to instruct class sessions in French.
This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. This is not an online position. Relocation packages are not available. Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
