Description
A Government of Canada department is seeking several IT security specialists to support the implementation of the Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) process for various IT applications and initiatives. This work will be carried out on an as-and-when-needed basis.
The SA&A process follows the Canadian Centre for Cyber Security's ITSG-33 framework, with the goal of assessing IT solutions and establishing residual risk statements and recommendations for operational readiness.
Top Required Skills
5 + years experience as a Information Technology Security TRA & CA Analyst creating & reviewing SA&A documents
3 + years experience with ITSG-33 and conducting assessments in PBMM environments (this would be in government departments)
1 + project within the past 3 years working on cloud assessment in azure
Clearance Required
Level 2 - Secret Clearance

Tasks includes and are not limited to:
+ Submit monthly timesheets outlining support provided to projects.
+ Attend project meetings as needed.
+ Provide regular status updates to the Cyber Security CRM team and project managers.
+ Work on SA&A documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
+ Offer guidance on cybersecurity processes and best practices.
+ Ensure project documents reflect appropriate cybersecurity considerations.
+ Align project architecture with security standards and document relevant updates.
+ Review and provide feedback on project deliverables from a security perspective.
+ Support the preparation and finalization of SA&A-related materials.
+ Contribute to risk assessments and provide cybersecurity recommendations.

The pay range for this position is $80.00 - $86.00/hr.

Our client is in need of several a consultants on an as-and-when-needed basis to support and implement the Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A) process within individual IT applications that may relate to projects and initiatives. The SA&A process is based on the Canadian Center for Cyber Security (CCCS) IT security risk management: A lifecycle approach (ITSG-33) framework and guidance.
The outcome of the process is a series of activities and deliverables culminating in the establishment of a residual risk statement and recommendations for the operationalization of IT solutions and services.
The role of this specific resource is for a level 3 security lead representing the client Cyber Security Compliance and Risk Management (CRM) organization and working with the client project manager to plan and execute the SA&A IT security activities identified below throughout the applications (project/development) life-cycles. The level 3 security lead will be supported as and when needed by junior security lead and vulnerability assessor (under different TA requests); the level 3 security lead will be responsible for coordinating and delegating tasks to vendor provided resources in the context of this TA.
