Security Infrastructure Engineer
As Security Engineer on the Infrastructure Team at LotusFlare you will be responsible to drive the overall IT security standards across our cloud native DNO stack. This incorporates security policies and domain security concepts along with the implementation and the lifecycle of security technologies in LotusFlare’s infrastructure.
As Senior Security Engineer you will be reporting to the VP of Infrastructure and engage directly with infrastructure and product engineering teams.
Required skills
- At least 3+ years of experience in a similar technical security role
- Excellent knowledge in development and implementation of following concepts:
- Network Security Concepts
- Linux System Security and System Hardening
- Data Classification and Data Security Concepts
- Cloud Security, particularly AWS

Responsibilities
- Actively managing the security of our cloud-native runtime environment
- Clearly and promptly communicate and negotiate security technical topics with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Drive security improvements to production cloud environments
- Perform targeted offensive security testing
- Implement continuous monitoring systems and tools to automatically identify potential security issues at the code, application and infrastructure layers
- Conduct security audits in cloud environments
- Review code and other production changes with the goal to maintain the security standards
- Develop documentation listing recommendations and best practices for infrastructure and organizational security standards
- Stay current on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and controls for the cloud
- Working with backend engineering teams on architecting, profiling, and monitoring high-performance high availability product components as microservices, providing mission-critical real-time functionality on the control plane of mobile and fixed networks
- Evolving the infrastructure and keeping our stack up to date with the latest technologies.

- Review assigned service requests daily, follow up and provide status updates to clients; effectively maintain service delivery status and backlog.
- Lead the technical delivery of projects, including design, configuration, and testing of technical solutions for enterprise-wide projects.
- Work with vendors, customers, partners, providers, and peer technical staff on implementation, optimization, and security of Network and Security system. This includes, but is not limited to, troubleshooting infrastructure and services including routers, switches, access points, load balancers in both an on -premises environment and an Cloud environment, layer 7 firewalls, remote access solutions and site connectivity
- Research, analyze, recommend, and implement new software, hardware, tools, systems, and processes to increase efficiency, lower total cost of ownership, and improve performance.
- Perform infrastructure maintenance and upgrades to client environments.
- Provide incident management and support to the critical issues escalated by Network Security Services Operations, including internal and external communications, team coordination of repair and then root cause analysis efforts.
- Create and review the documentation of the current Network Architecture and develop Network solutions to enhance existing services.

Compensation Disclosure
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $256000 - $352000/YR. Join us as our new Senior Network Security Engineer , where you will bring extensive expertise in incident management, firewall rule administration, and cutting-edge technologies such as Cloudflare and Netskope. Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Network Security, you'll play a key role in fortifying our organization against cyber threats, leading daily event monitoring, and incident response.
What will you be doing?
- Deploy, configure, and manage Palo Alto firewalls across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, leveraging deep knowledge of App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, and Wildfire.
- Implement and manage Cloudflare security services, including WAF rule sets, DDoS protection, bot management, and SSL/TLS encryption.
- Configure and optimize Netskope Security Service Edge (SSE) solutions to protect data and manage threats effectively.
- Use scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell to automate tasks and support incident response.
- Oversee daily operations of certificates, secret management, and key management tools.
- Secure web applications by applying best practices in web application security.
- Develop technical documentation to support troubleshooting, training, and program development.
- Lead end-to-end security projects and mentor junior security practitioners.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT Infrastructure, Application Delivery, Legal, HR, and Support.
- Coach and mentor developers, engineers, and security staff to improve security practices and awareness.
- Maintain compliance with Bill 198, SOC2, and PCI DSS controls within your area of responsibility.
- Enhance and manage security processes and technologies to detect, investigate, and remediate security incidents.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts to support security initiatives.
What experience do you have?
- Bachelor’s degree in security or a related field.
- Minimum five years of experience in network security domains, including hands-on work with firewalls, cloud security, and threat protection.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office365 suite, Sentinel One, or Cylance.
- Strong understanding of Windows Operating Systems (desktop and server), network routing, and switching.
- Demonstrated ability to react quickly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
- Microsoft Azure Certification (Required).
- Optional certifications: Cisco, Palo Alto, Security+, CISSP.
- Deep expertise in Palo Alto Networks NGFW, including deployment across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, and advanced features like App-ID, User-ID, Content-ID, and Wildfire.
- In-depth knowledge of Cloudflare’s WAF and security services, including DDoS protection, bot management, and SSL/TLS encryption.
- Strong understanding of Security Service Edge (SSE) platforms, particularly Netskope, including architecture, deployment, and threat management capabilities.
- Nice-to-have: Experience in a 24x7 Security Operations Center or Managed Security Service Provider.
- Required to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, one week per month.
