Pay Rate: $55,000 - $5,000
About the RoleAs a Security Program Manager (SPM) at Seneca Polytechnic, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing our dedicated security team. Your day will include guiding full-time, part-time, and casual security guards, ensuring they are well-trained and informed about the latest procedures and regulations. You will provide daily support to the guards, manage scheduling, and maintain compliance with security protocols. Additionally, you will coordinate with various operational stakeholders to ensure seamless security operations, especially when extra coverage is needed for high-profile properties. Your leadership will be pivotal in fostering a safe and secure environment for everyone on campus.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing security personnel, including overseeing full-time, part-time, and casual security guards.
- Ability to conduct or coordinate an 8-hour training program for new security guards to ensure they are knowledgeable in essential procedures, regulations, and standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills to provide daily management and support to guards, including effective scheduling and compliance monitoring.
- Experience in coordinating with other operational teams to ensure smooth security operations, particularly for high-profile properties.
- Proficient in overseeing extra coverage shifts to ensure security needs are met at all times.
- Extensive experience in security management and supervision.
- Experience in creating, managing, and delivering training programs for security staff.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and guide teams effectively.
- Ability to manage multiple teams and prioritize tasks for maximum efficiency.
- Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act, Steps to Arrest, Mental Health Act of Ontario, and Criminal Code Section 494 - The Citizen's Power to Arrest.
- Valid G License with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience; CPI, Use of Force, and First Aid/CPR Level C with AOD training are considered assets.
- Familiarity with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

- 3-5+ years of leadership experience in safety, quality, or risk management, ideally within homecare or community healthcare
