Director, Solutions Engineering, Security Solutions
Overview
- Responsible for development of short and long-range plans to drive adoption of Security Services solutions through our A2A payments business.
- Drives the cross-functional definition of a customer-centric approach to product development and innovation, connecting end-customer insights to product value propositions, and long-term, scalable revenue.
- This includes formulating, communicating and evaluating solution strategies that cut across all Security Solutions in order to solve customer problems/pain points while partnering closely with A2A, Security Services and Regional teams
- Act as the "go to" connection point between A2A payments and Security Services and as such an active member of the A2A leadership team
Role
- Plays a leading role in developing, formulating and communicating solution strategies and objectives between the Security Services and A2A payments businesses
- Must be able to articulate a position while seeking to solve problems and consider the potential to drive enhanced growth through differentiated thinking, while ensuring your credibility in the leadership team is enhanced and our partnership approach is deemed successful
- Provides direction to product team(s) to identify, structure and prioritize key issues; define problem statements and develop overall solutions
- Partners with Security Services and A2A business leaders to design, evaluate and advance their businesses, ensuring alignment with Mastercard corporate strategy
- Observes market trends and evolutions, with a focus on the competitive landscape
- Monitors the organization's performance against targets and evaluates potential issues in order to identify new solutions and market opportunities
- Drives growth agenda and profitability plans through socialization of issues and potential solutions

Job Description

The Head of Installations will lead a coast-to-coast installations operation for commercial security projects. This role requires a master of detail, fluent in the language of physical security and oversee a team of project coordinators to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery. The ideal candidate is as comfortable coaching project managers as guiding high-profile clients through obstacles—always with a calm, solutions-first approach when projects face adversity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Oversight: Provide end-to-end leadership for all installation projects, ensuring delivery is on schedule, within scope, and aligned with contractual standards and client expectations.

  • Team Leadership: Directly supervise and mentor a team of project coordinators and managers and installation staff, supporting their professional development and holding them accountable for project outcomes.

  • Client & PM Liaison: Act as the senior point of contact for both project managers and major clients, facilitating transparent communication, rapid problem resolution, and ensuring a seamless client experience.

  • Budget & Timeline Management: Maintain meticulous oversight of project budgets, schedules, milestones, and KPIs to guarantee profitability and flawless execution.

  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify risks, respond decisively to project crises, troubleshoot technical and resource challenges, and put out “fires” to keep projects on track and clients satisfied.

Qualifications

  • Proven Leadership: 5+ years overseeing large-scale electronic security or life-safety installation projects, with at least 3 years managing project managers or equivalent supervisory experience.

  • Physical Security Expertise: Deep knowledge of security technologies, including CCTV, access control, alarms, and integrated systems; vendor management and hands-on installation experience a plus.

  • Detail Orientation: Track record of flawless, detail-heavy execution across complex, high-volume projects.

  • Crisis Management: Demonstrated ability to resolve project setbacks, conflicting priorities, or emergencies calmly and quickly in a leadership capacity.

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written skills, equally effective in C-suite boardrooms, with project teams, and on project sites.

  • Process Discipline: Skilled in documentation, budgeting, timeline and deliverable tracking with a process-driven mindset.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, electronics, or a business/technical field preferred; equivalent progressive experience considered.

What You’ll Do

As we continually release new features and products, they must have a high aptitude for learning and teaching.

Our engineers work closely with other Customer Engineering, Software, and Hardware development team members, diagnosing problems and communicating them in multiple technical contexts. Thus, excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative approach are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Post-sales technical support of Arista Campus products and solutions.
  • Respond to customer product inquiries via telephone or in written, internet-based email.
  • Resolve customer concerns raised during installation, operation, maintenance, product application, or compatibility matters.
  • Troubleshoot problems with hardware equipment and software applications and recommend corrective action.
  • Recreate customer network issues in a dedicated lab environment (as needed).
  • Document customer communication and recurring technical issues to support product quality programs and product development.
Qualifications

  • Bachelor in CS/IT/CIS/EE or equivalent in experience
  • Working knowledge of networking industry, products, and protocols
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of hands-on experience and a combination of the following: designing, deploying, configuring, supporting, troubleshooting, debugging, and administering the following network protocols and technologies:

Compensation Information

The new hire base pay for this role has a pay range of $108,000 to $150,000. 

Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location, so that we can offer consistent and competitive pay appropriate to the market. The actual base pay offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and work location. 

The pay range provided reflects base pay only and in addition certain roles may also be eligible for discretionary Arista bonuses and equity. Employees in Sales roles are eligible to participate in Arista’s Sales Incentive Plan, which pays commissions calculated as a percentage of eligible sales. US-based employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection. About this role

We are recruiting for Security Systems Technician's to join our Kelowna Service team. This position requires you to be a certified Electrician or Security System Technician. Here's how your role will strengthen our team:

Your responsibilities
  • Working on various job sites to install, configure and commission various electrical Security, Access Control and Healthcare systems, including: CCTV Camera, Video surveillance, Access Door Controls, Intrusion Detection, Nurse Call, RTLS, etc
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, circuit diagrams and other construction documents to ensure the correct installations, in residential, commercial and healthcare buildings.
  • Respond to customer service calls, trouble shoot, diagnose and resolve technical system problems.
  • Work closely with customers to provide ongoing service, repairs and programming of electrical systems. Maintain accurate records of installs and service calls.
  • Program and integrate different electrical Security and Access Control systems
  • Train users on various products and systems (Lenel, Axis, Genetec, DSC, Avigilon)
Your experience and skills
  • Must be hold a valid Security Technician Trade Qualification or be a Certified Electrician with experience installing Security or Healthcare Technologies
  • Must have experience working on active construction sites
  • Hold a valid Security Alarm Installer License or be willing to obtain
  • Be an active IBEW 993 Union Member or willing to become a member
  • Experience installing, configuring and troubleshooting, Security Technologies, Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion/Burglar Alarms, RTLS, Patient Wandering Alerts, Networks and Communication electronics.
  • Preferred if you have knowledge in the following product lines - Lenel, Axis, Genetec, DSC, Avigilon.
  • Experience working on hospital or healthcare construction projects with healthcare systems (Nurse call, Patient Wandering, RLTS) would be a strong an asset
  • Strong attention to detail, and good organizational and communication skills
  • Must have a valid driver's license and hold a clean driving record
  • Willing to work after hours and be on call

Salary range: Compensation through the IBEW 993 Collective Agreement, plus great benefits and RRSP. A company Service Van, cell phone, and service clothing will be provided.
