Responsibilities:
·   Responsible for the overall completion of projects. Start to finish completion at a high
standard of quality, and in a timely manner
·   Maintain a clean and organized site and project
·   Delivering quality and satisfaction through constant communication with homeowners, crew
chiefs and business owner

·   Drop off flyers and market door-to-door in neighbourhood around work site
 
Compensation: 
·   - $16-$21/hr depending on experience and responsibility

Position Overview

As a Crew Leader you will lead a team to various job sites throughout the week, ensuring the job is done right, on time and safely. Job Duties

  • Safely and efficiently lead a crew in providing arboricultural care for our clients. 
  • Directs crew members and equipment as well as planning and executing the assigned work and tasks.
  • Responsible to supervise and assist in the proper maintenance, preparation and operation of all tools and equipment including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
  • Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
  • Including but not limited to:
    • Pruning, thinning, and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy.
    • Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
    • Removal of hazardous trees.
  • Provide expert tree trimming services and inspections to client properties.
  • Manage customer service expectations.
  • Abide by Davey and industry safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as an Arborist. 
  • ISA certification or certificate of enrollment in an arboriculture program or equivalent.
  • Valid provincial driver’s license. Licensed to drive a 5-ton vehicle and air brake endorsement is considered an asset.
  • The ability to understand and safely direct a team on the process of safely ascending tree canopies at all heights.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
  • Strong tree, knot and shrub identification skills.

  • Haul flat deck trailers loaded with skid steers, forms, and equipment.
  • Oversee setup, squaring, and pouring of ICF foundations, conventional grade beams, thickened edge slabs, and other concrete work.

You are an experienced Hardscape Crew leader and looking to grow and be a part of moving a business forward. You are trustworthy so that you can take on tasks and projects within your team with limited supervision. Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a crew of 2-3 labourers
  • Train new team members on proper techniques
  • Execute hardscape construction projects, including but not limited to patios, walkways, retaining walls, driveways, decks, fences, water features, and outdoor structures.
  • Prepare the work area by clearing debris, grading the land, and ensuring proper drainage. Conduct necessary excavation and site preparation activities to create a solid foundation for hardscape installations.
  • Help coordinate project schedules and resources to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of hardscape installations. Monitor project progress, identify and address any issues or obstacles that may arise during construction.
  • Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner. Provide guidance and recommendations based on client needs and preferences. Address client concerns and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the project.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment. Adhere to local building codes, regulations, and permit requirements for hardscape installations.


Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, with the ability to effectively manage a team and delegate tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of Hardscape, materials, and equipment.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
