What You'll Be Doing:
You will play a Principal Engineer role in the design and delivery of municipal roads and highways projects - coordinating multidisciplinary teams, providing technical direction, and supporting project success from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Ensure the technical excellence of engineering functions across projects, including coordination of technical disciplines, development of project alternatives, and preliminary/final design.
+ Design and review roadway infrastructure including horizontal and vertical alignments, super-elevation diagrams, ramps, interchanges, and roadway apertures.
+ Develop and manage detailed construction elements, including detour plans, staging concepts, and temporary conditions, with consideration for all modes of transportation.
+ Advance and plan active transportation facilities-such as sidewalks, multi-use paths, cycling lanes, and crossings-into the design in accordance with applicable standards and best practices.
+ Perform and review quantity take-offs and prepare cost estimates to support project planning and budgeting.
+ Lead and mentor Senior and Associate Engineers, providing direction, technical oversight, and support to design teams and junior staff.
+ Coordinate closely with interdisciplinary technical personnel and the broader project team to ensure cohesive, high-quality deliverables.
+ Support Project Managers in the execution of deliverables and contribute to schedule adherence and quality control.
+ Ensure all designs comply with client requirements, project scope, and applicable provincial and municipal standards.
+ Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
+ Gather, review, and distribute technical and contractual information to relevant project disciplines.
+ Guide staff in the interpretation and application of engineering standards including TAC, OTM, AASHTO, OPSD, OPSS, and guidelines from municipalities across the Greater Toronto Area (e.g., City of Toronto, City of Mississauga, City of Vaughan, and City of Brampton) as well as Metrolinx design standards and requirements.
+ Utilize design and collaboration software such as Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and ProjectWise.
+ Review corridor modeling in Civil 3D and/or OpenRoads Designer.
+ Engage directly with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities throughout the project lifecycle to ensure alignment with expectations and successful delivery.
+ Oversee scope development, scope management, and commercial performance to meet overall project goals and objectives.
What You Bring:

+ Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
+ Minimum 12 years of experience in roads and highways engineering, including MTO and/or municipal projects.
+ Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) is a must, preferably with PEO.
+ Proven track record leading roadway design projects and teams within Greater Toronto Area or Canada wide.
+ In-depth knowledge of transportation engineering standards and practices.
+ Proficiency in design software (Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer, etc.).
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
+ Experience in Metrolinx projects is preferred.
+ Experience mentoring junior staff and collaborating with diverse, multidisciplinary teams.

**Job Summary**
Join TYLin as a Principal Engineer in our Roads + Highways team and play a key role in delivering some of the most significant roadway and highway infrastructure projects in Ontario. **Responsibilities & Qualifications**
**What You'll Do:**
+ Serve as the technical lead on complex roadway and highway design projects, overseeing engineering deliverables from preliminary through detailed design stages.
+ Apply expert knowledge of Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) standards, municipal design guidelines, TAC standards, and applicable codes.
+ Direct the preparation of engineering drawings, reports, specifications, and tender documents.
+ Lead or contribute to the preparation of preliminary engineering studies, functional designs, and Class Environmental Assessments.
+ Coordinate across disciplines (e.g., structures, drainage, traffic) to ensure integrated, high-quality project delivery.

**Job Summary**
As a Principal, Electrical Engineering at Introba, you will be a visionary leader helping shape the future of sustainable infrastructure across Ontario and Eastern Canada. You will lead a high-performing team delivering mission-driven projects in education, healthcare, science & tech, and civic sectors-while contributing to innovation, mentorship, and meaningful client relationships.
You will initially integrate with an established team of 6 electrical designers and engineers, ranging from Junior Designer to Senior Principal. Your mandate: double the team in size and revenue by 2029 through sector growth and operational excellence.
**Responsibilities & Qualifications**
**Leadership & Team Development**
+ Lead, mentor, and manage a growing team of electrical engineers and designers.
+ Establish performance plans and KPIs (e.g. DLM, chargeability, technical quality).
+ Oversee team hiring, training, retention, compensation, and career progression.
+ Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
**Operational Excellence**
+ Set and manage project budgets, team revenue targets, and labour forecasts.
+ Monitor financial and operational metrics (e.g. WIP, write-downs, productivity).
+ Maintain team compliance with Introba's QA/QC and best practices.
+ Ensure project plans and progress are maintained in Deltek (Introba's PM system).
**Client Engagement & Business Development**
+ Serve as principal liaison for key clients and high-profile projects.
+ Develop and secure new project opportunities in both core and emerging sectors.
+ Support and promote Introba's full multidisciplinary service offering.
+ Resolve client issues and lead contract negotiations as needed.
**Technical & Design Leadership**
+ Provide oversight on technical quality and delivery for all electrical systems.
+ Guide teams through procurement strategies and cost management.
+ Oversee construction contract administration and field reviews.
+ Promote technical innovation in smart building systems, energy optimization, and sustainability.
**Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)**
+ **Client Satisfaction & Growth:** 80%+ repeat client rate; ≥1 new strategic client/year
+ **Financial Performance:** Project write-downs ≤5% of annual NSR; Profitability meets/exceeds annual targets
+ **People & Culture:** Regrettable turnover ≤10%; Minimum 2 team members promoted/year
+ **Operational Compliance:** AR DSO ≤75 days; 90%+ of projects updated monthly in Deltek
**Qualifications & Experience**
+ 15+ years of electrical design experience, including major institutional and healthcare projects
+ Proven team leadership experience with at least 5 direct reports
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
+ Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario
+ LEED AP and/or Passive House certification preferred
+ Experience with telecommunications, security systems, and emerging smart building technologies
+ Strong community or industry presence through conferences, white papers, or pro bono leadership

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Build CICD Pipelines: Lead the design and development of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CICD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins X and Maven. Focus on ensuring a seamless pipeline for Quickplay's microservices.
