**Job Summary**
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector will be responsible for Inspection of materials and assemblies in accordance with PPI and Customer quality standards. Day to day duties will consist of conducting inspections to ensure components, hardware and subassemblies are meeting quality standards. The position is on site at our location in Bedford, NS.
**As a Quality Inspector, your main responsibilities include (but are not limited to):**
+ Conducting inspection to ensure components, hardware and subassemblies are meeting quality standards.
+ Responding to inquiries on the quality of parts.
+ Making decisions based on documented accept/reject criteria.
+ Generating detailed nonconformance reports (NCRs) for rejected items.
+ Actively managing backlof of rejected items to achieve targeted cycle time.
+ Supporting Quality Assurance or Customer inspectors during Source and FAI Inspections.
+ Release of product to stores, verifying that all contractual requirements have been met.
+ Reviewing test data sheets for compliance to the test requirements, and ensuring all signoffs are complete and legible.
+ Performing assembly and other manufacturing functions as required when time allows.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**What you require to be successful in the role:**
+ 4-7 Years experience in Quality roles
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Certification and In-depth knowledge of relevant manufacturing standards (such as WHMA-A-620/J-Std-001/IPC-A-610) or common mechanical techniques (such as geometric dimensioning and tolerance practices) considered an asset
+ Fluent with quality standards, internal documentation and product lines
+ Ability to use various measurement devices (calipers, pin gauges, go/no-go gauges, etc) and microscope to verify mechanical part compliance
+ Experience reading drawings and able to verify part dimensions against drawing requirements
+ Proficient using Metric and US/Imperial measurement systems and doing measurement conversions
+ Ability to interpret contractual requirements and to execute them independently
+ Intermediate PC skills and experience using ERP systems
+ Knowledge to implement effective ESD and Moisture Sensitivity practices at all times
+ Knowledge of SPC is an asset
+ Understands the link between assembly, inspection and QA in customer satisfaction
+ Basic knowledge of ISO and AS Standards
+ Ability to understand military specifications and to read blue prints
+ Ability to define problems and drive to root cause and effective corrective action

JOB DESCRIPTION: QUALITY INSPECTOR

  • Read & Interpret drawings, 5 years (Preferred)
  • Ensure that existing standard operating procedures, quality programs and welding procedure specifications are being followed by company staff
  • Perform weld inspection as per Code
  • Supervise welding certification of new hires
  • Minimum Level 2 CWB certification
  • Review welding specifications and/or requirements for each project and work with team to solve fabrication challenges
  • Identify project quality control requirements and ensure they are always met
  • Review project drawings and specifications, developing inspection and test plans and implementing them
  • Inspect materials and finished goods to ensure they meet Code, customer requirements and/or contract specifications, including but not limited to checking welds, welding consumables, base material, cut & formed parts, layout work and coatings
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, above average level of expertise in business office applications are a must.
  • Working knowledge of welding, metal fabrication and machining processes.
  • Working knowledge of CWB W47.1, W47.2 and W59 and AWS D1.1 and D1.7standards.
  • Experience in development and implementation of QC programs, SOPs, PQRs and WPS.
  • Familiarity with requirements of the custom metal fabricating industries.
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
  • Perform source inspections, in-process inspections and final inspections
  • Communicating required adjustments to shop foreman and returning products for re-work, confirming re-work through proper system (both in ERP and procedurally)
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs, summarizing re-work and waste, inputting data into quality database
  • Perform all daily inspection and test of the scope and character necessary to achieve the quality required in the drawings and specifications for all works under the contract performed ON or OFF site.
  • Taking care of QA/QC documents of the entire project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports, materials delivered and other QA/QC documents.
  • Perform inspections, reports and archiving documentation and collecting and filing the required Quality Records.
  • Carry out inspection and checking for all quality related procedures in all Channel workshops and ensures activity at all shops are as per approved method statement and inspection test plan.
  • Evaluates the qualifications of welders and Non Destructive Test-NDT technicians with regard to the activities assigned.
  • Perform precision dimensional measurements
  • Review production documentation for compliance and adequacy of inspection and as necessary, develop required inspection criteria for the production of quality products
  • Analyze compliance with applicable quality elements, relevant standards and processes and initiate any required corrective and preventative actions; verify the response and effectiveness of the implementations
  • Ensure products meets or exceeds internal and customer requirements
  • Work with production, purchasing and engineering to ensure the quality requirements of production parts are met
  • Dealing with the Client for all the Quality matters and coordinates with client’s QA/QC departments for inspection and meeting about quality problems including the closure of Non-Compliance Report.
  • Required to participate and oversee all the internal/external audits.
  • Accomplish the Quality Control functions/activities of a project or its parts, including Quality Control inspection schedules and the collection of Quality Records.
  • Develop and Assesses the implementation of the Quality Plan and Quality Control Plans on shops

Required Abilities, Knowledge, Experience

  • Demonstrate understanding of parts drawings and GD&T.

POSITION SCOPE:

The IPQA Inspector performs in process manufacturing and packaging quality assurance checks to maintain process control, performs sampling, provides guidance/operational training as required & completes associated documentation to ensure that all quality standards & product specification requirements are satisfied.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Audit floor activities, e.g. manufacturing and packaging processes to ensure product specific requirements are met & completed. Record audit results on a timely basis.
Perform line clearance checks for manufacturing and filling processes in accordance with company SOPs.
Perform AQL activities for product in accordance with company SOPs.
Perform in-process quality checks for manufacturing and packaging processes in accordance with company SOPs.
Perform in-process quality checks for manufacturing and packaging documents in accordance with company SOPs.
Review Batching production documents & Fill Sheets.
Provide guidance including on-line training to maintain process control when required.
Review Statistical Process Control Charts (SPC) & production Fill Sheets.
Generate reports as required including Rework, On-Hold & Rejection reports.
Ensure all in process quality and product-sampling requirements are complete, documented, and transferred to its testing and/or storage location e.g. Legal Retain, Line Standard, Micro, Customer, PLMA etc are completed on a timely & orderly basis.
Maintain an orderly filing system.
Adhere to all Company policies and procedures for GMP, GDP and health and safety, including donning health and safety personal protective equipment as outlined in the health and safety manual.
Identify and report any hazard(s), accidents, and injuries requiring first aid, health care, lost-time injuries, occupational diseases or incidents in the workplace.
Use equipment, materials and machinery only as trained and authorized.
Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, rework /repair of non-conforming manufactured product to determine root cause.
Promote and support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement activities at Apollo.
Any other related duties as required.

DUTIES:

Reporting to the Manager of Inspections, this position will be responsible for the performance of site inspections for small building, houses and properties and HVAC and plumbing inspections of all buildings for which qualified for by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) to ensure compliance with the approved plans, the Ontario Building Code and reference standards and related legislation: Inspects and monitors construction and demolition for compliance with the approved plans, the Ontario Building Code, referenced standards applicable law and good construction practices, within ‘House’, ‘Plumbing House’, ‘HVAC House’, ‘Small Buildings’, ‘Plumbing All-Buildings’, ‘Building Services’. Inspects signs for compliance with the Ontario Building Code and Sign By-law(s) and issues orders for contraventions of the sign by-law; Organizes workload and documents inspection results, including collection and attachment of photographs, documents and reports in the computerized records management and tracking system; Provides instruction to contractors, architects, engineers and the public on the regulations and required construction practices and investigates complaints; Reviews plans and specifications from all disciplines to ensure overall compliance with the Ontario Building Code as required; Verifies existing site conditions on permit drawings and/or information on municipal addresses, Committee of Adjustment and LPAT decisions; Investigates complaints and applies enforcement regarding contraventions of statues, regulations and bylaws under the carriage of the CBO i.e. Property Standards, Fence, Swimming Pool, Zoning etc. Advises Ministry of Labour of unsafe working conditions or sites and participates in investigations; Inspects fire damaged or unsafe buildings to determine the extent of damage and need for repairs/replacement/demolition or unsafe orders; Inspects and prepares evidence for presentation before the courts. Represents the City in civil litigation; Responds to enquiries from the public concerning requirements of the Ontario Building Code and applicable law affecting new construction; Issues orders in response to Ontario Building Code deficiencies; Prepares detailed and accurate reports. Reviews consultants field reports for accuracy and completeness; Verifies that materials and methods of construction meet approved standards and construction practices; Issues Orders to Comply when infractions of regulations are found, files court charges and gives evidence in court when legal action is required to obtain compliance; Represents the Division at various committees and meetings; Will be required to travel to off-site locations.  Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program.  Will perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma plus (3) years of post-secondary education from a Community College or University in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalencies;
  • Must have over five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in building construction and a comprehensive knowledge of building design and construction;
  • Must have Provincial Qualifications from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs in:
    • General Legal/CBO
    • House
    • HVAC - House
    • Plumbing House
  • Must hold and maintain a current, valid and lawful Class ‘G’ Driver’s License in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, for the purposes of operating a City of Windsor vehicle and provide a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment. Access to a properly insured vehicle; 
  • Must have experience and education in the design and installation of building, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems;
  • Must have experience in a computerized office environment and be familiar with the Microsoft Office Suite of Products;
  • Must be capable of reading and interpreting construction drawings;
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and other related standards;
  • Must have effective oral and written communication skills in all mediums;

Job Summary:

We are urgently hiring an Electrical Quality Control Inspector for an upcoming assignment at Cigar Lake Mine in Saskatchewan. Youll be responsible for ensuring all electrical installations meet project specifications, code requirements, and client standards.

This is a fly-in fly-out (FIFO) role on a 14/14 schedule. Flights leave out of Saskatoon on Fridays at 7:00am. Candidates must have electrical inspection experience and hold a valid Red Seal Electrician certification .


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections on electrical systems and equipment to ensure compliance with CEC, CSA, SaskPower, and client standards
  • Identify deficiencies and follow up on corrective actions
  • Create and manage punch lists, inspection records, and quality reports
  • Support pre-commissioning and final acceptance testing
  • Track inspection progress, rework hours, and pass/fail rates
  • Liaise with site supervisors, electricians, and project management teams
  • Participate in client walkdowns and assist with turnover documentation
  • Promote and adhere to all site health, safety, and environmental policies

Requirements:
  • Red Seal Construction Electrician certification (mandatory)
  • Previous experience in quality control or electrical inspection
  • Strong knowledge of CEC, CSA, and SaskPower standards
