To support our growth, were expanding our sales team with abilingual Business Development Representative (BDR). Reporting to the VP of Sales & Business Development, youll help drive outreach to new prospects within well-defined market segments. Youll work with modern go-to-market strategies and tools, in close collaboration with marketing and leadership.

Your Role

  • Identify, engage, and qualify prospects through email, LinkedIn, and other outreach strategies.
  • Build relationships with potential clients in key markets and segments (North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia).
  • Manage leads, contacts, and activities in our CRM.
  • Meet or exceed weekly and monthly outreach and conversion targets.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to improve messaging and outreach tactics.
  • Stay informed about trends in the event tech space and key segments like associations, congresses, trade events, and user conferences.
  • Focus on identifying and qualifying new leads. Once a lead is sales-ready, youll coordinate with the VP for a smooth handoff and follow-up no sales presentations required.


Your Qualifications and Skills

  • 3+ years of B2B sales experience in a relevant industry, with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is required, as most of our clients are based internationally.
  • Comfortable in French (conversational level or better).
  • Experience with GTM processes and tools we use HeyReach, LinkedIn Navigator, Clay, and Pipeliner.
  • High energy, curious mindset, and a proactive approach to sales.
  • Based in Greater Montreal and available to work from the office 12 times per week in a hybrid work environment.
  • Valid passport for occasional travel to the US.

Job Description

Business Development Representative “BDR” works on identifying opportunities at provided named accounts through outbound cold-calling, building relationships and qualifying leads for Account Executives. 

A successful BDR will engage with top compliance leaders and position Assent’s unique approach to solving the “compliance puzzle”. As a Business Development Representative, you’ll have a significant impact on the growth of our business through new customer acquisition, interaction with our leadership team and scaling pipelines to meet our growth plans.

Key Requirements & Responsibilities 

  • Leverage all available marketing resources and advanced sales development tactics in order to generate highly qualified meetings from target Accounts within relevant industries;

  • Drive pipeline growth by scheduling qualified appointments with Account Executives;

  • Qualify leads, as well as prospect into ideal prospective companies;

  • Engage with top compliance leaders to drive growth;

  • Manage and monitor your work using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool;

We are offering a highly attractive salary of $63,000-$68,000 commensurate with experience, as well as company vehicle. You’ll work out of our Bell Island facility once a week and spend the rest of your time on the road or working from your home office. Please note that relocation is a requirement if you currently live outside the province of Newfoundland. What Makes You an Ideal Candidate If you don’t have a ton of sales experience, that’s okay – what is absolutely essential for success in this role is experience working in the steel fabrication or coatings industry. We are recruiting for an energetic Business Development Representative to join our diverse client. The successful candidate will be responsible to generate and successfully convert sales into new accounts by demonstrating the value and benefits of the program to Alberta companies also to grow the business while providing first-class customer service.

Your success will be defined by your ability to:

  • Develop and qualify leads across Alberta to drive new business opportunities
  • Be able to properly identify the decision maker within different corporate structures
  • Asses prospective client work environments and assist in providing value by integrating products and service
  • Utilize CRM to document and report on account activities including business development, ongoing relationship management, and pipeline analysis
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with new and existing clients to ensure marketability
  • Participate in planning and attending events that promotes products and/or services (e.g., tradeshows, conferences, committee meetings)
  • Monitor progress against established schedules, including sales tracking and reporting

  • Possess strong customer service skills that include building rapport, identifying needs and problems and providing appropriate solutions
