Job Summary
Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will be responsible for the training and the communication of expectations, standards, results and feedback for the employees in their department. The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor will also be responsible for identifying and solving problems with not only employees, but parties including carriers, suppliers and other Olymel plants. The Shipping & Receiving Supervisor also manages quality by ensuring compliance with HACCP/SQF and applies hygiene regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices.
Major Responsibilities:
- Assign work with instruction and objectives during start-up and throughout the shift;
- Communicate expectations/operational objectives/standards to employees;
- Follow-up on work assignments;
- Quantify variances regarding manpower needs;
- Communicate efficiency & quality results to employees;
- Identify and solve problems with employees, carriers, suppliers, and other Olymel plants;
- Implement method changes/conduct tasks analysis;
- Provide feedback (positive & constructive) to employees;
- Hold shift start meetings with employees;
- Confirm overtime availability with employees;
- Follow-up on company policies (discipline, Health & Safety, HACCP/SQF); participate in and adhere to all Health & Safety policies and regulations;

- Participate in and adhere to all Health & Safety policies and regulations;

- High school diploma;

The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily operations of the warehouse to ensure accurate and timely receiving processes as well as inventory and stock control with maximum efficiency. The Team lead must also strive to meet all set KPI’s for the Operations of the warehouse.
**Responsibilities:**
- Oversee the preparation, loading, and dispatch of finished bottled water products to meet customer delivery schedules.
- Ensure all shipments comply with quality and safety standards.

- 1+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong understanding of logistics, shipping regulations, and transportation requirements.

The Opportunity
We are seeking Shipping Supervisor to support our Brampton facility. Reporting to the Warehouse and Shipping Manager, the successful candidate is responsible for leading and developing a high-performance team of unionized workers to optimize safety, product quality and productivity to achieve on-time delivery and total customer satisfaction.

What you'll do
· Direct receiving, warehousing and distribution services to meet customer delivery requirements
· Ensure enough equipment is available for the operation, ensure the operation has enough drivers to deliver all orders as requested by customers
· Able to find quick resolution to any issue that would negatively impact deliveries or the general operation in the Warehouse
· Responsible for all shipping staff which includes determining training needs, conducting performance reviews, participation in the recruiting of new staff, completing all necessary reporting for health and safety and WSIB issues, and the ability to resolve employee concerns
· Monitor general activities in the shipping department
· Continuously look for opportunities to improve the operation with the ultimate goal of reducing cost while maintaining an excellent level of service
· As a priority in the department, ensure that stock is moving expeditiously and always cleared from the production lines
· Able to conduct crew meetings monthly – both safety and quality/production and minutes completed in a timely manner
· Ensure all inspections/checklists are completed on a daily basis

· Develop weekly crew schedules
· Monitor and report overtime

Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, this is a hands on role to manage, prepare, maximize and track all plant inventory, shipping and receiving functions. This position has direct influence on company revenue and profitability. The S/R Supervisor will be accountable for assigning shipping schedules, maximizing shipping density, on time departures, accurate paperwork, and transport of dangerous goods, inventory control, managing shipping and receiving functions along with triaging of received material. Shift – 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 pm RESPONSIBILITIES: * Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments * Coordinates with the production planner, production supervisors and other shop personnel to meet plant objectives * Fosters positive working relationships. Responds proactively to performance concerns, discipline, employee complaints, and other employee relations matters * Plans, organizes, and supervises the shipping function, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of finished goods to the end customer * Provides supervision, training in SOP’s, scheduling, and guidance to shipping/ receiving employees * Create and reconcile all receiving and delivery transactions in SAP and all required documents associated with each shipment to required standards * Determines method of shipment and books appointments within a defined list of carriers, prepares bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents. Creates and hands off complete and appropriate documentation to all parties including drivers * Ensures that the team complies with plant health and safety requirements and ensures proper methods and standard operating procedures are followed to meet quality, safety, environment standards * Conducts inventory counts as required and be responsible for accuracy of inventory and security of it * Supervises, trains and reviews performance of shipping/receiving and inventory staff (approx 7 people) * Ensures compliance with regulatory programs and customers regarding the classification of incoming material, standard tare weights, scale calibration and verification, the use of proper codes and ERP system to track and confirm weights, etc. * Recommends measures to improve quality of service, increasing efficiency of department and work crew and equipment performance. * Manage shipping/receiving requirement in the afternoon shift * Drive forklift when required * Other duties as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum 3-5 years experience in Shipping & Receiving and inventory control, ideally in a distribution centre and/or manufacturing environment of which at least 2 years spent supervising a team * Ability to work in a fast paced environment with frequent deadlines * Strong team player and works in unison with the other operations team members to achieve corporate goals * Experience using SAP and MS Office * Highly detail oriented and ensures accuracy of data and shipping paperwork * Demonstrated aptitude and ability to understand and comply with Transport of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements and documentation regulations incl. intraprovincial, interprovincial and international shipments * Must be a self-starter with effective planning and organizing skills to manage priorities and complete tasks efficiently and effectively * Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others and communicate clearly (verbal and written) * Should have a valid forklift license (1-2 years of Forklift experience)

DAY IN THE LIFE
- Works with the production department to organize and plan the shipping and receiving of goods andmaterials.
- Manages and assigns daily tasks for a team of 8 -10 shipping & receiving personnel.

- Works with HR to select, interview, and hire new employee.
- Schedules crew and equipment to facilitate the movement of materials out of the fabrication shop to theblast and paint bays.

- Forklift certification is an asset.
- Experienced with proper rigging and overhead crane is an asset.
