Location: Kitimat, BC
Schedule: Monday to Friday (5/40)
Duration: 4-months contract
Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and experienced driver to join our team to transport people around our large industrial site, with occasional trip into town. The ideal candidate will have excellent driving skills and a thorough knowledge of industrial driving, as well as experience in maintaining vehicles and ensuring they are always clean and ready for use along with other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Safely transport personnel between various locations within the industrial site, community and region as tasks require.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles and ensure they are always in good working condition.
- Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure they are safe to drive.
- Ensure vehicles are clean, fuelled, and ready for use, including replenishing fluids.
- Follow all traffic and safety laws, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vehicle logs, including fuel and maintenance records.
- Communicate effectively with management and other team members to ensure that tasks are completed safely, efficiently and on time.
- Provide excellent customer service to all passengers and always maintain a professional demeanour.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Clean driving abstract.
- Attended or have the ability to attend an accredited defensive driving course
- At least 3 years of driving experience including winter (preference in Terrace/Kitimat area)
- Experience transporting people.
- Familiarity with the local area and knowledge of the best routes to take.
- Excellent driving skills and a strong commitment to safety.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and adapt to changing schedules.
- Must be physically fit and able to lift to 50 pounds.
- Experience in maintaining vehicles, conducting routine maintenance, and previous fleet experience a benefit.
- Ability to perform basic computer functions and operate IOS devices.
