FOREMAN JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a foreman in a drywall company, all operations revolve around you. A foreman is the leading force behind a successful project. He must supervise all workers overseeing every stage of the job from layout to framing to drywall to finishing. Other duties include ensuring all materials are available for laborers to complete tasks in acceptable quality.
FOREMAN OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinating with the PM office for day-by-day activities and tasks.
- Develop a schedule for workers and assign tasks to construction workers.
- Supervise all workers and oversee quality of the work/site. Establish, and maintain quality control measures on-site.
- Ensure that a project is adequately staffed based on workload and schedule needs. If more manpower is required, it needs to be communicated to Andre to make arrangements. We do not need any head counts. If workers are not performing talk with Andre and replace them.
- Oversee and manage site from initial to handover and ensure that the project is staying on schedule.
- Send an email with progress/schedule updates and all issues for the week to the PM office end of day every Friday and take photographs for work progress.
- Attend the site meetings and inform the PM of any discrepancies with schedule and any cost related issues.
- Verify all layouts before walls are framed.
- Ensure inspections are completed before closing and rectify any deficiencies noted by the city inspector.
- Verify all onsite safety training for all new hires, including workers, trades, and subcontractors as well as all union and safety cards.
- Update tools inventory and lift log every month and send it to Domenico.
- Make sure all safety requirements are being met on site.
- Make sure all material required for the next weeks work is on site. All material orders are to be sent to the Purchaser and released by the PM before orders are placed. Book delivery with UBP.
- All subcontractor invoices to be verified by 12pm Monday. Invoices to be thoroughly looked at and approved only if the work on site is complete and quality requirements are met. If work is not of adequate quality, invoices are not to be approved, and the subcontractor needs to be informed.
- Engineered shop drawings are to be followed to the dot. If any modification needs to be done, the PM will have to be informed and will be reviewed by the Engineer. Any engineered item cannot be closed before being approved by the Engineer. Photographs to be taken and sent to the PM at all stages of this process for documentation.
- Make sure foreman log sheets are filled every day. They must be sent to the office no later than Friday every week.
- Every delivery received on site needs to be cross checked with the order sheet. Delivery slip to be sent to the Purchaser for tracking.
- All site instructions need to be reviewed by the Foreman. If any changes, the PM needs to be informed to be able to price. All changes discussed on site also needs to be communicated to the PM before any actual work takes place. No extra work can start before receiving an approval from the office.
- No work to be done on T&M until approved by the PMs. T&Ms need to be signed by the GC site super ever day end of day and submitted to the PMs.
- Document everything regarding the job by emails. If other trades are delaying send an email. If the GC is asking for extra work send an email. If there is damage to work send an email. If work is being performed out of sequence, email etc.

The Renovations Foreman will lead and oversee a team of labourers, ensuring the successful execution of projects involving interior renovations (e.g., bathrooms, basements, and kitchens) and outdoor hardscaping (e.g., interlock patios, driveways, fence and deck installations, and full design-build jobs). Supervise, motivate, and manage a team of labourers and subcontractors to ensure project efficiency and quality, complete the work as well.

Project Execution
Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate execution.
Coordinate daily activities to meet project timelines and budgets.
Oversee and perform tasks in interior renovations such as framing, drywall, tiling, flooring, and cabinetry installation. As well as demolition of walls when necessary, expertise in beam work and partition walls.
Lead hardscaping projects, including the installation of interlock patios, driveways, fences, decks, and landscaping features. Excacuting full design-build jobs for exterior and interior projects.
Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Communication
Act as the main point of contact on-site, effectively communicating with clients, project managers, and suppliers.
Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
Quality Control & Problem Solving
Inspect work regularly to maintain high-quality standards.
Troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions to overcome project obstacles.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Qualifications:
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of experience in renovations and construction, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
Expertise in interior renovation tasks such as carpentry, tiling, demolition, flooring, painting and finishing.
Proven experience in outdoor hardscaping and landscaping projects.
Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and tools.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
