The QC Assistant documents inspections, identifies and communicates deficiencies, and collaborates with the production and engineering team to maintain consistent product quality. The primary objectives of the Quality Control Technician are to ensure that all chemical and physical testing of cement, intermediate products and raw materials and fuels are performed accurately and within all standards. The Quality Control Technician is an integral link in the Brookfield Plant Quality Control program.

Quality Control Technician
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
Amrize is seeking a **Quality Control Technician** to join our **Ready Mix Division** . This position is part of a **unionized** workforce. This candidate will work within the quality control team to provide timely and accurate process control information, ensure that all testing equipment is operating properly, perform pre-pour and post-pour checks, perform concrete testing and certify that completed products meet specifications. Daily adherence to Canadian Standards Association (CSA) is required, as well as ensuring all requirements are met to maintain certification to these standards. The successful candidate will report to the Quality Control Supervisor and work closely with other Quality Control (QC) Technicians.
**WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH**
+ Implement and follow the Quality Control (QC) program, including inspections, testing, and completing required documentation.
+ Test and verify concrete products during batching and on-site, ensuring compliance with CSA standards.
+ Conduct various concrete tests both in-plant and in the field, including aggregate sampling and burn-offs.
+ Operate, maintain, and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accurate performance.
+ Maintain detailed records of all testing procedures, results, and supporting documentation.
+ Work closely with ready-mix drivers to provide guidance on mix designs, slumps, air content, and related specifications.
+ Identify and report any deficiencies in product quality, and assist in developing corrective action plans.
+ Ensure all quality control procedures and documentation meet CSA standards and internal guidelines.
+ Provide ongoing technical support to production teams and complete all required paperwork (manual and digital).

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
**Education Required:** Bachelor's Degree in a related field of science or engineering
**Required Work Experience:** 2 years' experience working in quality control/construction field. Experience working in the concrete industry is preferred.
**Required Technical Skills:** Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and other basic operating programs.
**Required Training/Certifications:** ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade 1 certification (certification must be obtained within 3-months of start date) or CCIL Concrete Certification (preferred)
**Additional Requirements:**
+ Strong product and production knowledge
+ Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with attention to detail
+ Have a basic understanding of the chemistry of concrete and its ingredients
+ Good mechanical aptitude and able to interpret technical drawings
