**ROLE TITLE: QUALITY CONTROL LAB ANALYST (CHROMATOGRAPHY)**

Reporting to the Quality Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for performing Quality Control testing of Pharmaceutical and Natural Health products.
**Responsibilities:**
Participating in various testing on raw materials, in-process and finished products using established analytical procedures and compendia methods.
Provide support on equipment cleaning verification in manufacturing area.
Operating HPLC/UPLC instruments.
Preparing various reagents (buffer solutions, standard, mobile phase)
Recognizing out-of-specification or out-of-trend results and assisting in the completion of lab investigation.
Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices (cGMP) and regulatory requirements in manufacturing of pharmaceutical products.
Participate in the area of occupational health, safety, and wellness.
**Education and Experience:**
Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Chemistry or related studies and/or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Strong knowledge of HPLC techniques (min 5 years of experience)
Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge in Microsoft Office with a proficiency in Word and Excel.
Knowledge of the US or European Pharmacopoeia will assist

When you join our team as a **Quality Control Supervisor** , you will plan, coordinate, and direct quality control and process
improvement programs designed to ensure that quality of product and continuous
production are consistent with established standards.
**What You'll Do**
+ Oversee QC process for the entire mill and act a resource person within the plant in relation to wood quality.
+ Maintain a permanent quality assurance file for each product produced
+ Receive all quality complaints and determine appropriate actions
+ Inspect as required incoming materials for compliance with the quality assurance specifications and determine corrections required
+ Routinely inspect each manufacturing process operation and note any and all discrepancies from specifications, procedures and corrections required.
+ Perform internal and external audits to ensure quality control requirements are implemented and maintained.
+ Maintain calibrations of process equipment.
+ Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on key performance metrics.
**What You Offer**
+ College diploma or bachelor's degree in forest products processing or forest engineering, or other relevant discipline.
+ Experience in managing quality aspects related to wood processing. Experience in the sawmill industry would be an asset.
+ A working knowledge of quality control program requirements and techniques.
+ Knowledge of computers systems.
+ Knowledge of the NLGA classification standards considered an asset.
+ Valid driving license.
+ Good organizational skills and results oriented.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The primary objectives of the Quality Control Technician are to ensure that all chemical and physical testing of cement, intermediate products and raw materials and fuels are performed accurately and within all standards. The Quality Control Technician is an integral link in the Brookfield Plant Quality Control program.

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**
+ **Education** : Technical diploma or equivalent experience. A two-year chemical technology course is preferred or equivalent experience.
+ **Required Work Experience** : Previous experience in quality control or a laboratory setting is preferred.
+ **Required Training/Certifications** : Experience in a mortar/concrete testing lab considered an asset.
+ **Required Technical Skills** : Basic computer skills.
+ Ability to work independently with minimal instruction
+ Good troubleshooting, problem solving and analytical skills.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
**Additional Requirements:**
+ Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

**The Opportunity -**
Reporting to the Director of Technical Services, this position will be responsible to perform site reviews of single family and/or multi-family projects enrolled for home warranty while they are being constructed. You will provide construction reviews, assessments, and inspections on potential new projects to assist with assessing risk and to provide technical construction expertise during the claims process. This position does require travel within the regional area and would be considered a "remote worker" role, with visits to the branch location when required. Additionally, this position would be provided with a **company vehicle** due to the required regional travel.
**A day in the life -**
+ Responsible for site reviews of new homes and buildings during construction to ensure compliance with quality construction standards and building codes.
+ Escalation of high-risk reports to Senior Manager, Technical Services.
+ Assist in identifying solutions to bring a project onside with acceptable standards.
+ Advise builder of deficiencies in building code, methods, materials, and workmanship.
+ Perform technical construction reviews for the claims department in respect of home warranty.
+ Provide guidance and advice on technical construction matters to the underwriting and claims departments.
+ Maintain strong working relationships with builders, their trades, project consultants and other industry stakeholders.
+ Daily travel to construction sites in your company supplied vehicle, with occasional travel out of the geographical region.
**What you will bring to the team -**
+ 5 years' experience in residential construction industry.
+ 1-3 years of home warranty related experience would be an asset, but is not required.
+ Canadian Home Inspector certificate from an accredited institution would be an asset, but is not required.
+ Strong knowledge of residential construction procedures, methods, techniques and building codes.
+ Tech savvy - ability to learn inspection related software, use of a company phone and the use of Microsoft office products.
+ A strong knowledge of provincial work safe requirements.
+ The ability to drive and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing is mandatory.
+ Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Construction Science would be an asset, but is not required.
+ Red Seal Carpenter certificate or a Journeyperson trade would be an asset, but is not required.
**Salary Expectations -**
