Job Description

CAD Software Specialists are responsible for the implementation of any new drafting software, the day-to-day maintenance of the existing drafting software, and ensuring that all software updates are introduced seamlessly to the drafting team. These individuals must be knowledgeable with the software, excellent at problem solving, and willing and able to guide users to the correct usage of the software. This position interfaces with drafting personnel, drafting leads, design managers, project engineers, I.T. and shop personnel and provides progress updates to the senior drafting managers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations to determine root causes of software errors and implement strategies to correct the user’s workflow and/or the routines within the software
  • Maintains CADWorx PRJ and data files to company and project specs and standards
  • Conduct product reviews of new software releases for implementation decisions.
  • Collaborate with Piping Designers and Drafters, Engineering disciplines, and Fabrication staff
  • Liaise with the Computer Information Technology department
  • Assists design staff with software issues and training
  • Assists with standards development
  • Develop procedures and processes to streamline the design environment
  • Maintain and enhance existing developed procedures and processes and ensure that those practices are compatible with the latest design software

Prerequisites

Education

  • Computer Programming certificate; Applied Programming diploma; and/or Software Engineering degree would be beneficial
  • Completion of advanced AutoCAD courses
  • Diploma in Engineering Design Drafting Technology (EDDT) or recognized equivalent in piping design would be considered an asset


Experience

  • Piping design experience at a senior level would be a bonus
  • Shop fabrication experience would be a bonus
  • Strong design skills in piping systems, and structural supports
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD / CADWorx / IsoGen / Navisworks 2020 and higher
  • 5 years minimum experience within 3D design environments

Other

  • Solid understanding of design and drafting practices of piping components for process piping, structural, and equipment
  • Skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Developer
  • Solid understanding of high-level languages such as LISP, C, C+, C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, SQL, TypeScript and VBA
  • Web Development: NodeJS and JSON
  • Solid understanding of Visual Studio v17 and higher
  • AI Development: OpenAI API would be a bonus
  • An understanding of ObjectARX and its usage is a bonus

Job Summary

  • Execute and lead technical tasks including:
    • Create software/digital solutions for current and new SCADA/MES clients

    • Execute preliminary visual samples for quoting and concept purposes

The Solution Advisory team plays a key role in executing Nakisa's Go-To-Market strategy. What you'll do

  • Develop and share lease accounting best practices;
  • Support sales and implementation projects as a subject-matter expert, ensuring alignment with accounting best practices;

  • Familiarity with lease accounting software and ERP systems.

  • Willingness to stay updated with the latest developments in lease accounting standards, AI technologies, and industry trends.

The successful candidate will be working within the Secusmart organization to help deliver high quality software releases in regular cadences to our customers. As a member of the testing team, you will be a staunch advocate for software quality who actively participates in new feature testing activities across both Android and iOS and PC platforms. In addition, you'll also participate in cross-team initiatives to help improve testing processes and deliver value and innovation throughout BlackBerry.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Actively participate in all aspects of our Agile SCRUM software development process, collaborating with testers, developers, UX/doc writers, product management, and other project stakeholders.
* Perform hands-on in-sprint QA activities to ensure production grade quality that meets internal/external customer specifications and expectations.
* Analyze and reproduce complex problems within our test environments based off of test results and reported customer inquiries.
* Design and implement manual and automated test cases and scripts for our applications under test.
* Depending on your specific skills, talents and areas of interest, we also encourage each of our team members take on special projects to improve process, testing methodologies and/or knowledge sharing activities.
**QUALIFICATIONS:**
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related sciences.
* 7-10 years experience in software verification and validation (SV&V) activities using Android and iOS mobile apps in Agile environments.
* Good working knowledge of different types of software testing and it's applicability to SV&V
* Capable of comprehensive analysis of technical issues, such as: system performance analysis, client-server issues, and root-cause analysis of issues regardless of source (hardware, system, or software)
* Familiarity with the agile SCRUM methodology and continuous integration (i.e. nightly builds and releases).
* Strong skills in innovative thinking, initiative and collaboration will be used regularly.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, including strengths in meeting objectives through influence, facilitation and team building.
* Comfortable in a geographically dispersed, fast-paced and fun work environment.
* Demonstrated team player committed to product quality and customer satisfaction.
**ADDITIONAL ASSETS:**
* Familiarity using the following software: Test Rail, Jira and VMWare
* Familiarity with Java, Junit, Swift, Appium, Shell Script, Android OS (ADB, Gradle), and Gerrit/Git
