Our seedlings will be used to reforest areas disturbed by timber harvesting and wildfire and will improve British Columbia's environment by creating natural forest habitats while fighting climate change through the capture and sequestration of carbon dioxide.

Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Cell Sorting Research Assistant will work as part of a team dedicated to characterizing cellular immune responses through flow cytometry on whole blood and bone marrow aspirates.
Responsibilities
More specifically, you will participate in the following:
- Perform methods according to approved procedures;
- Manage reagent orders and maintain inventory required for assay performance;
- Participate in the shared technical management of the laboratory;
- Adhere to current laboratory standards, follow quality system procedures, and contribute to the implementation and improvement of quality documentation.
- DEC or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Immunology, or a related field.
- 1 year of laboratory experience;
- 1+ years of hands-on flow cytometry experience, including multi-parameter panel analysis and data interpretation, is an asset;
- Experience in cell culture (sterility) and handling infectious materials in a BL2+ environment;
- Experience with clinical sample handling and chain of custody procedures is an asset;
- Experience troubleshooting flow cytometry equipment is an asset;
- Experience with flow cytometry software (FACSDiva, FACSuite, SpectroFlo) is an asset;
- Familiarity with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) is an asset;
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting assignments;
- Solid theoretical and practical knowledge of immunology-related techniques;
- Ability to work within a regulatory framework (GLP) and follow sound document management practices (SOP);
- Strong organizational skills;
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy;
- Adaptability to new technologies and methods;
- Motivated to actively participate in the implementation and continuous improvement of laboratory processes.
- 100% onsite;
- Tuesday - Saturday 3-11pm with one weekday shift during the week 5pm-1am. Note: A shift premium is applied;
- The role is predominantly conducted in a laboratory setting;
- Must be willing to perform duties or supervise activities in Bio Safety Level (BSL) 1 or 2 facilities where biological samples may be either naturally or experimentally infected with potentially hazardous viruses such as HIV, HCV, or CMV;
