As the Global Sourcing Specialist, your role will facilitate and coordinate the production of our garments with our Vendors. In other words, our buyers and designers will tell you what they need, but without your sourcing skills, fabric knowledge and amazing follow up skills, those designs will never make it to our stores! This role reports to the Global Sourcing Manager.
What you do:
Fabric
- Partners with Design on initial development to execute development packages with suppliers.
- Carries out raw material development to meet price, aesthetic, and quality needs in conjunction with Fabric Specialist.
- Allocates samples and source raw materials from appropriate vendors/factories/mills and determine raw material similarities in attempt to find economies of scale.
Product Development
- Partners with Design and Buying to drive trends/concepts to executable samples by working with the agent/vendor/factory.
- Obtains, reviews and assesses new cost quotes, analyze history and escalates costing challenges to supervisor for costing options/negotiations.
- Selects appropriate factories and mills.
- Works on alternative solutions so garments meet cost and quality requirements from initial through final costing and reviews options with Director.
Production
- Ensures T&A calendar is being met and escalates to supervisor as needed (PLM deadline, PO issuance, patterns and artwork send dates, etc.).
- Reviews outstanding issues on Production Status, takes action accordingly and escalates to Supervisor as needed.
- Works with Buying on garment costs, buys, production planning, liabilities and deliveries.
Who you are :
- College Degree
- 5 years + related experience in fashion retail or fashion wholesale
- Strong analytical skills.
- Detail oriented, solid knowledge of excel and able to multitask
- Bilingual

Weu2019re looking for a Strategic Sourcing IT Manager to lead sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management for a dynamic portfolio of IT services. This role is key to driving value, reducing total cost of ownership, and mitigating risk across Sobeysu2019 technology landscape. Youu2019ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver sourcing solutions that support business goals.
Hereu2019s where youu2019ll be focusing:
Develop and execute category strategies end-to-end
Strategically source a complex portfolio of services with emphasis in IT using tools, processes, and strategies
Set direction and priorities for team on projects
Lead and/or support multiple projects simultaneously
Achieve stakeholder business requirements, scope of work, and budget while effectively capturing spend and savings
Be a trusted advisor by developing and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, with forward-looking planning to anticipate and support business needs
Develop, lead, and maintain effective relationships with vendors
Demonstrate strong proficiency in 7-step sourcing processes
Train and coach team on sourcing best practices to achieve desired outcomes
Support consistency, transparency, alignment, and synergies among all Sourcing and Category Management teams, creating an environment to remove silos in sourcing execution
Build and maintain deep subject matter expertise and industry knowledge within the established portfolio of products and services
Drive sourcing best practices and enterprise value through cross-functional engagement including stakeholders, legal, and other key partners
Support communications with cross-functional areas in establishing and sustaining this centralized sourcing function, ensuring compliance in the use of sourcing services
Closely partner with the IT team to ensure a total sourcing solution is delivered
Support end-to-end source-to-pay process by driving purchases through the e-Procurement tool
What you have to offer:
Minimum 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or merchandisingu2014ideally within IT or retail environments
Proven expertise in sourcing IT services and navigating the Canadian vendor landscape
Strong strategic thinking and ability to articulate sourcing plans both verbally and in writing
Demonstrated success leading procurement initiatives and delivering cost savings
Deep understanding of cost structures, operating plans, and value creation in sourcing
Ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with functional leaders and external partners
Experience developing and mentoring talent within a sourcing or procurement team
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative and results-driven mindset
