**Responsibilities:**
+ Design, develop, and implement complex Spark applications for processing large datasets, leveraging your expertise in distributed computing and data manipulation techniques.
+ Partner with management teams to integrate Spark-based solutions into existing data infrastructure, ensuring seamless data flow and optimal performance.
+ Resolve critical data processing challenges by evaluating complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards, applying your deep understanding of Spark's capabilities.
+ Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers, guiding them on Spark best practices and promoting efficient development strategies.
+ Develop and maintain coding standards, testing procedures, and debugging techniques specifically for Spark applications.
+ Contribute to the overall data architecture, ensuring that Spark solutions align with business goals and integrate effectively with other data technologies.

+ Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to company policies and demonstrating sound ethical judgment.
**Qualifications:**
+ 6+ years of application development experience, with a significant focus on Java/J2EE and Apache Spark.
+ Strong command of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and design patterns in Java.
+ Excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms, and their application in Spark development.
+ Proven experience developing complex Java/J2EE applications, encompassing all areas of the technology stack.
+ Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience with Hadoop, MapReduce, YARN, Sqoop, Pig, Hue, Unix, Impala, and Cassandra on Mesos.
+ Extensive experience designing, developing, and deploying Spark applications in a production environment, handling large volumes of data.
+ Deep understanding of Spark architecture, including Spark SQL, Spark Streaming, RDDs, and DataFrames.
+ Experience with ETL and BI tools is a plus.
+ Experience working in an agile environment using Scrum methodologies.
+ Expertise in designing and optimizing software solutions for performance and stability, particularly in the context of Spark.
+ Expertise in troubleshooting and problem-solving complex technical issues.
+ Experience with test-driven development (TDD).
+ Cloudera certification (CCDH) is an added advantage.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Experience with cloud-based Spark platforms (e.g., Databricks, AWS EMR, Azure HDInsight).
+ Experience with other big data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Hive, HBase).
+ Experience with data visualization tools and techniques.
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Job Description:
The Job Developer is responsible for delivering a holistic approach to employment services by building strong partnerships with community businesses and guiding job seekers through the full continuum of career exploration, job matching, and retention support. This role emphasizes collaboration and engagement with local employers to create meaningful employment opportunities for clients while fostering supportive workplace environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct active outreach to employers to identify and promote job opportunities, job matching, and employment services.
- Ensure employers meet eligibility criteria and conduct site visits to verify compliance with Ministry & Employment Standard guidelines.
- Match clients with employment opportunities aligned with their skills, interests, and career goals.
- Assist employers with recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
- Facilitate work opportunities and negotiate placement agreements, including training objectives, commitments, and financial incentives.
- Provide coaching and ongoing support during placements, address workplace issues and fostering client success.
- Conduct placement monitoring and ensure timely processing of required documentation for financial incentives.
- Deliver community presentations to raise awareness of programs and services.
- Provide resources and guidance to employers to help them build supportive workplace environments.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree/ diploma in a related field (e.g., Human Resources, Social Work, Business Administration) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years of experience in employment services, job development, or a related field.
- Proficiency in both official languages is required
- Strong understanding of labor market trends and employer needs.
- Must have a class G license, access to a reliable insured vehicle and have a good driving record
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Certification in Career Development or Employment Counselling.
- Experience working with diverse and marginalized populations.
- Knowledge of Ministry guidelines and funding programs related to employment services.
- Training in conflict resolution or workplace mediation.

- Maintaining proper coordination and cooperation with other members of the site team, so that site activity is not disrupted.
- Ability to work in adherence to safe practices, worksite and traffic laws.
- May perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY. Mandatory in-house training will be provided.
- Steel-toe boots are required.
- Available to attend an all-day training session.
- Available for approximately 2 weeks of work starting September 8, 2025.
