Compensation: Very competitive wages and benefits — let's talk!About the RoleThe MacQuarries Group of Pharmasave’s is looking to add a Pharmacy Operations Manager to our team. This position will provide operational leadership to our network of pharmacies locations across Nova Scotia. The position will report to our Director of Pharmacy Services.
The Pharmacy Operations Manager ensures the overall successful operations of these pharmacies as well as leading new initiatives while maximizing efficiency and patient care. This position may require working beyond a 40-hour work week when required.

- You will follow our ABC’s - You must have a great attitude , professional behavior and want to positively contribute to our team
- Works closely with the Dispensary Managers in all locations to achieve strategic and measurable goals and promote the vision of MacQuarries Pharmasave.
- Ensure successful implementation of a workflow, optimizing space and time to allow for greater efficiency and more consultation (i.e. expanded scope, med reviews)
- Work with the Dispensary Managers to ensure thorough training for all team members
- Coach and guide the Dispensary Managers ensuring there is regular employee coaching, progress reviews and consistent communication meetings where all areas for improving are discussed
- All insurance and third-party billing information is accurate, and maximized
- Work to increase our compounding profile in the Valley and other areas
- Help develop a plan to grow prescription count and customer count
- Work closely with the Director of Human Resources and the Dispensary Managers for recruitment and retention, staff development and continual improvement of the culture within the dispensary and entire store
- Work with managers to maximize scheduling
- Regularly check and approve ADP for the pharmacy team
- Ensure there are regular clinics addressing the health needs of the community
- Increase profit with new ideas and service, track productivity, optimize our inventory
- Active license as Pharmacist or Registered Technician for direct patient care in Nova Scotia
- Injection certification
- Management experience
- Proficient with Kroll is beneficial
- MS Office
- Familiarity with CPPCC sites

Job Outline:
The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for technical and clerical functions in the area assigned. Duties include unit-dose or traditional dispensing, medication order entry, medication cart refill, ward stock replenishment, inventory management, sterile products preparation, manufacturing and pre-packaging. All rotations include responsibility for continuous quality improvement and workload measurement
Education & Qualifications:
- Pharmacy Technician Diploma from a Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP) accredited college
- Registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacy (OCP)
- A minimum of 1 year related hospital experience is required, with 3 years’ experience preferred
- Sound working knowledge of computer applications such as Meditech is required
- Strong organization and problem solving skills.

Education/Experience:
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes using unit dose

- Check IVR voicemail messages and process all refill prescriptions electronically requested.
- Check emails regularly and respond accordingly.
- Process invoices received from the wholesaler and print them to be ready once the order is received.
- Respond professionally to inquiries and requests made by home operators, residents, and members of the care teams.
- Process weekly batching, printing hard copy reports, and new refill authorization.
- Enter new or changed prescriptions in blister packs and communicate the changes to homes to coordinate start dates and blister swapping.

- Coordinate and schedule delivery and shipping services via Canada Post and Purolator if needed.
- Contact prescribers verbally or via fax for clarifications and various functions.
- Manage inventory of injectables and products for regular delivery schedules.
- Managing Accounts Receivables and printing invoices and expense reports for the monthly period end.
- Work within the scope of practice as dictated by the provincial and federal laws.
- Respect all privacy laws as it pertains to patients’ medical and health information.
