PeaceHealth is seeking a Security Officer for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable position.
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $22.10 - $33.12.
The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
The Security Officer is responsible for providing safety and security services which requires regular interactions with patients, visitors, caregivers and clinicians in highly diverse and complex situations. Interacts with local law enforcement to provide information, clarification of events and coordinate emergency protocols. Performs internal and external security patrol of assigned hospitals and/or clinics; dispatch; and access control as assigned.
**Details of the position:**
+ Provides safety and security services which includes; patrolling grounds, parking lots, buildings, securing entryways and exits, etc. to effectively address potential conduct issues, violations of policy, check for property damage, inspect safety issues, inspect certain safety features such as fire extinguishers or water valves, respond to all codes, address trespassing concerns, provides assistance with out of control patients, and utilizes electronic checkpoints.
+ Provides stand-by service or escort services for protection of caregivers or patients as needed.
+ Provides courtesy services such as providing directions, locksmith functions, jump-starts, changing flat tires, reporting vehicles with lights on, and assisting families in times of crisis.
+ Provides non-violent physical crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to neutralize extreme situations and mitigate negative outcomes.
+ Provides crowd control during events resulting in an influx of patients and/or visitors.
+ Coordinates information, clarification of events and emergency protocols which may require collaboration with external safety and law enforcement agencies.
+ Responds to all emergency situations and applies appropriate protocols for the Code, Disaster (command center), ETO Exposure, Fire, Flood, Hazardous spills, and all code situations.
+ May assist flight crew and ground crew with Life Flight/Airlift NW transports and securing landing the pad.
+ Ensures adherence to protocols; completing, filing and maintaining correct documentation, filing reports, monitoring visitor permits, and assists with maintaining building access control by utilizing the computerized badge/door system.
**What you bring:**
+ Minimum of 2 years Required: Military or civilian security or law enforcement experience and
+ Preferred: Healthcare facility security experience and
+ Required: Complete CPI/De-escalation training within 180 days of employment
+ Required: within 180 days IAHSS - Basic and
+ Required: Drivers License and
+ Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Required)
+ Ability to formulate a plan of action, carry it out with control and apply crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. (Required)
+ Ability to perform data entry as necessary. (Required)

PeaceHealth is seeking a Security Officer for a Per Diem/Relief, Variable position.
The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $22.10 - $33.12.
The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
The Security Officer is responsible for providing safety and security services which requires regular interactions with patients, visitors, caregivers and clinicians in highly diverse and complex situations. Interacts with local law enforcement to provide information, clarification of events and coordinate emergency protocols. Performs internal and external security patrol of assigned hospitals and/or clinics; dispatch; and access control as assigned.
**Details of the position:**
+ Provides safety and security services which includes; patrolling grounds, parking lots, buildings, securing entryways and exits, etc. to effectively address potential conduct issues, violations of policy, check for property damage, inspect safety issues, inspect certain safety features such as fire extinguishers or water valves, respond to all codes, address trespassing concerns, provides assistance with out of control patients, and utilizes electronic checkpoints.
+ Provides stand-by service or escort services for protection of caregivers or patients as needed.
+ Provides courtesy services such as providing directions, locksmith functions, jump-starts, changing flat tires, reporting vehicles with lights on, and assisting families in times of crisis.
+ Provides non-violent physical crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques to neutralize extreme situations and mitigate negative outcomes.
+ Provides crowd control during events resulting in an influx of patients and/or visitors.
+ Coordinates information, clarification of events and emergency protocols which may require collaboration with external safety and law enforcement agencies.
+ Responds to all emergency situations and applies appropriate protocols for the Code, Disaster (command center), ETO Exposure, Fire, Flood, Hazardous spills, and all code situations.
+ May assist flight crew and ground crew with Life Flight/Airlift NW transports and securing landing the pad.
+ Ensures adherence to protocols; completing, filing and maintaining correct documentation, filing reports, monitoring visitor permits, and assists with maintaining building access control by utilizing the computerized badge/door system.
**What you bring:**
+ Minimum of 2 years Required: Military or civilian security or law enforcement experience and
+ Preferred: Healthcare facility security experience and
+ Required: Complete CPI/De-escalation training within 180 days of employment
+ Required: within 180 days IAHSS - Basic and
+ Required: Drivers License and
+ Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Required)
+ Ability to formulate a plan of action, carry it out with control and apply crisis intervention and de-escalation skills. (Required)
+ Ability to perform data entry as necessary. (Required)
+ Good physical condition to walk, run and lift as needed. (Required)
+ Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. (Required)
+ Acceptable driving record in accordance with the PeaceHealth Motor Vehicle Safety Policy. (Required)

The Information Security Officer is a senior level professional position responsible for driving efforts to prevent, monitor and respond to information/data breaches and cyber-attacks. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the execution of Information Security directives and activities in alignment with Citi's data security policy.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Perform security reviews on SaaS and PaaS products
+ Performing security assessment on Saas & Paas
+ Ability to engage in deep technical discussions with other Engineering groups, as well as ability to convey the same concepts and issues at an elevated level to senior leadership.
+ Ability to execute technical responsibilities, including, Design / Architecture reviews, Code / Configuration reviews and vulnerability assessment.
+ Develops security architecture, strategy, planning, and problem-solving solutions on an enterprise level.
+ Identify opportunities to automate and standardize information security controls and for the supported groups
+ Resolve any vulnerabilities or issues detected in an application or infrastructure
+ Analyze source code to mitigate identified weaknesses and vulnerabilities within the system
+ Review and validate automated testing results and prioritize actions that resolve issues based on overall risk
+ Scan and analyze applications with automated tools, and perform manual testing if necessary
+ Reduce risk by analyzing the root cause of issues, their impact, and required corrective actions
+ Direct the development and delivery of secure solutions by coordinating with business and technical contacts
+ Recommend security solutions according to Security Policy and Practices established by Citigroup.
+ Establish and maintain relationships with domain architects, project managers, and others within the technology development unit.
+ Maintains continuous awareness of business, technical, and infrastructure issues and acts as a sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative GCP security architecture solutions.
+ Interfaces with vendors to security assess their technology and to guide their product roadmap based on Citi's security requirements.
**Qualifications:**
+ 6-10 years of relevant experience as an ISO officer
+ Proficiency in application, architecture, information, and cyber security
+ Proficiency in one or more: GCP, AWS and Azure
+ Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and software
+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
+ 5-10 years of experience in Application Security and/or Security Architecture
+ 5-10 years of experience Public & Private Cloud Security
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree/University degree in Information Security/Computer Science/Electrical, Mechanical Engineering /Information Technology or equivalent experience
+ Master's degree preferred
+ Professional certifications, such as CISSP and CSSLP, or willingness to obtain certification within 12-18 months of start date.

About the Role

Paladin Security is hiring a dedicated Healthcare Security Officer to join our team at Digby General Hospital. You’ll play a vital role in protecting patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring a safe and secure healthcare environment for the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patrol Hospital Grounds: Conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure the safety and security of the site.
  • Monitor Surveillance Systems: Operate security cameras and alarm systems, ensuring any suspicious activity is reported immediately to the appropriate authorities.
  • Access Control : Monitor and control entry points to the hospital, ensuring that only authorized individuals are allowed access to restricted areas.
  • Respond to Emergencies: Act quickly in emergency situations, such as medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats. Assist hospital staff as needed during crises and evacuations.
  • Provide Customer Service: Greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff. Provide directions and ensure that guests adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Conflict Resolution: De-escalate tense situations, resolve conflicts, and ensure that all interactions are handled calmly and professionally.
  • Report Writing: Document daily activities, incidents, or accidents accurately. Complete reports on incidents, breaches, and security concerns.
  • Collaboration with Hospital Staff : Work closely with hospital staff and local law enforcement to provide a coordinated security effort and ensure the safety of all parties involved.
  • Enforce Hospital Policies: Ensure that hospital policies, including visitor and patient protocols, are followed. Address any violations in a manner that upholds hospital safety standards

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Must reside near Digby, Nova Scotia
  • Eligible to obtain a Nova Scotia Security License
  • Valid Standard First Aid & CPR – Level C (CSA-approved)
  • Covid-19 vaccination (two doses)
  • Immunization records : Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)
  • Physical ability to perform patrols and emergency response
  • UoF and MOAB certifications (or willingness to complete Paladin’s training program prior to onboarding with a 6-month commitment)
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
  • Customer service experience
  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience working in healthcare or high-stress environments
