Get in, We’re Going to School! Voyago is Hiring School Bus Drivers in St. Thomas and Elgin County for the 2025–2026 School Year!
Do you have a passion for safety and love being behind the wheel? We want drivers who do more than drive, we want local heroes who take pride in getting people where they need to go, safely and reliably.
Your role:
- Safely transport "the most precious cargo" — students — to and from school
- Ensure the safety of students while they board and exit the bus
- Conduct thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to guarantee the bus is in safe operating condition
- Assist in fueling and maintaining the bus's cleanliness to ensure a well-kept and reliable vehicle
- Participate in ongoing training and development
Requirements
Your profile
- You are safety-focused. You’re focused, alert, and make smart decisions on the road.
- You hold a valid minimum full G class drivers license, preference will be given to E and B class drivers
- You are 21 years of age or over
- You are a safe driver with a clean driving record.
- You can obtain a clean criminal record search and vulnerable sector screening. The ability to pass a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check are must-haves
- You have intermediate to advanced English language skills (B1 to C2)
- You have a sound knowledge of St. Thomas Region and surrounding areas. You know your way around St. Thomas and surrounding areas like the back of your hand!
- You are comfortable working in a union
- You have the ability to work independently. You show up, step up, and get the job done!
- You are comfortable driving medium and large large vehicles. You’re comfortable driving more than just mini-vans. Wheel chair and mini yellow buses are fun to drive to!
(drivers must be comfortable driving more than just the mini-vans) - You can commit to split shifts: Monday to Friday , typically from 6:00 AM to 9:15 AM and 12:30 PM to 4:30 PM (exact times vary by route)

- Big Yellow, Mini-Yellow, or Wheelchair-Accessible Routes – $21.00/hour
- Minivan Routes – $0.15/hour
- Base Rate (for time spent working but not driving a route) – $1 .00/hour
- Got a driveway with some extra space? You might be able to take your bus home!
- No space? No problem. We have multiple park-out locations so your ride is never too far away!

As a Para Transit Driver, you're the friendly face behind the wheel, making sure seniors and individuals with special needs can get to medical appointments, groceries, social outings, basically all the important stuff.
Your Role
- You are responsible for delivering exceptional door-to-door customer service
- You are required to provide proactive assistance to passengers in boarding vehicles, maneuvering wheelchairs, securing belts, lifting portable assistive devices, and offering necessary aid throughout the journey
- Additionally, providing WOW! Customer service to all passengers and assisting with information on fares, schedules, and stops is a crucial aspect of this role
- You are responsible for performing basic vehicle inspection to ensure the vehicle is in good working order at the start of your shift
- Your rate for this position will be $ 19.21/hour
Requirements
Your Profile
- You are a safe driver with a clean driving record
- You can obtain a clean criminal record search and/or vulnerable sector screening
- You are a professional driver with a class license of G, B, C or F
- You have excellent customer service skills
- You are able to work with individuals who have special needs in a compassionate and patient manner
- You are comfortable working around any type of service animal
- You are capable of working at a fast pace and keeping up with the physically demanding requirements (wheelchairs, ramps, and a bit of squatting and twisting)
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- You have intermediate to advanced verbal and written language skills (equivalent to B2 to C1 levels)
- Your prior experience in a similar role would be preferred
- You have a sound knowledge of the St. Thomas region
- You are comfortable working within a Union
- You are comfortable with an on-call position with no set schedule each week

What you will be doing:
- Change your clients’ lives in the comfort of their homes. You will assess and build an accurate therapy care plan based on the real environment of our client. No more second-guessing on what’s best for them. This includes but is not limited to developing health promotion programs, prescribing equipment and supplies, promoting client safety.
- Creativity and Adaptability. You will exert critical thinking to provide complex preventative or corrective actions for a variety of clients with diverse needs. You will solve problems that interfere with their ability to do things that are important to them.
- Partner with our client’s family members, caregivers, and other health care professionals regarding their treatment goals and service plans.
- Because we use a hybrid model of care, including face-to-face and virtual, you can build a schedule that works for you and your client.
