WTW is looking for an experienced P&C data scientist in the North American market with predictive modeling and advanced analytics experience to join as a Property & Casualty (P&C) Associate Director in our Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) practice. In this role, you will collaborate with our team of pricing, portfolio management, underwriting, finance and claims experts to design and implement cutting-edge solutions to challenges faced by the top insurers.
ICT provides a powerful combination of advisory services for insurance companies, integrated with leading-edge technology solutions and software, all underpinned by unparalleled analytical capability. WTW has ambitious growth plans for our North America P&C propositions. Our goal is to substantially increase our footprint as we advise our insurance clients, with analytics and data science being a clear enabler of transformation throughout their organizations.
This position can be based in a major North American market and is open to remote/virtual work.

**The Responsibilities**
+ Develop integrated consulting and technology solutions for our clients
+ Combine extensive knowledge of data science market practice in an insurance context and innovation to build robust analytics processes that deliver insights to decision makers at the point of decision making
+ Develop and implement data strategies for clients
+ Design, build, test and run data science processes for clients
+ Design data science technology infrastructures for clients' analytical and operational functions
+ Build effective predictive models, analytical tools and processes using a wide range of analytical and data science techniques
+ Meet billable hour target and revenue goals, operating as a highly respected and effective consultant
+ Prepare proposals and presentations leveraging marketing resources, practice groups, subject matter experts and client relationship managers for existing clients
+ Serve as a mentor and project manager to more junior colleagues, training them on both the technical and theoretical aspects of insurance as well as project delivery methods
+ Contribute to the development of WTW's intellectual capital and future proposition development, including go-to-market strategy
**Qualifications**
**The Requirements**
+ At least 5 years P&C insurance experience
+ At least 3 years predictive modeling experience
+ Experience working on a data science or analytics team at an insurance company or consulting firm
+ Strong analytical skills including ability to draw conclusions and identify trends from data in a logical, systematic way
+ Solid experience with data manipulation
+ An understanding of machine learning and statistical theory
+ An understanding of how to utilize technology to optimize outcomes within an organization
+ Awareness of main data enrichment sources and open source data assets most valuable to insurance companies
+ Awareness of Insurtech activities in this space
+ Capable of leveraging past experience and expertise to adapt to current projects and challenges outside of core skill set
+ Comfortable navigating ambiguity and developing innovative solutions
+ Committed to training and mentoring less experienced colleagues
+ Practiced in managing complex projects and delegating work to senior and junior colleagues
+ Available to travel as needed
**Nice to Haves**
+ Experience with Radar software
+ Experience leading or participating on actuarial or underwriting transformation projects
+ Knowledge of North American insurance marketplace and carriers
+ Professional designation such as CSPA or ACAS

**Compensation and Benefits**
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience, performance in the role and potential for revenue generation (Producer roles only).
**Compensation**
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $150,000 - $230,000 USD per year. This role is also eligible for an annual short-term incentive bonus.

Our Team
Our Data Analysts utilize 3D data visualization software and human-in-the-loop machine learning processes to meticulously analyze ultrasound datasets. What You Will Do
- Learn the delivery standards and workflow processes for your assigned ILI product line
- Regularly check in with team members to assess capacity and remove roadblocks or inefficiencies
- Through frequent 1:1 meetings, track team members' progression in their role, deliver constructive feedback, and ensure they receive proper recognition for their work while building a roadmap for their career development
- Facilitate communication between your team and other teams and upper management
- Ensure employees are aligned with the company vision, and that the goals and direction of the team help drive achievement of the vision
- Facilitate the improvement of workflow procedures and best practices; seek out new solutions, seek feedback, and investigate and implement improvement opportunities
- Review projects assigned to Analysts on your team; you are responsible for the content and delivery of projects
- Partner with Recruiting and other Team Leads to recruit and evaluate candidates; a high volume of growth and hiring is expected
- Make informed recommendations for hiring, raises/promotions, performance management, and further training
- Develop new and improve existing processes and standards

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Experience managing a team producing client deliverables (e.g. reports, analysis)
- Experience managing early to mid-career individuals
- Experience leading process improvement initiatives
What Will Put You Ahead
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry (e.g. ILI, pipeline or piping integrity, NDE/NDT, well integrity, well logging) or industrial asset inspection services
- Experience managing teams with at least 5 team members
- Experience in rapidly scaling an operation or team
- Able to disseminate complex information and generate pragmatic solutions
- Able to assess and adjust work processes to meet scaling requirements; delegate and prioritize work effectively among the team
For this role, we anticipate paying $85,000 - $110,000 CAD per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
