The People and Culture Administrator will assist the People and Culture associate in supporting various People and Culture functions and contributing to the positive employee experience across the organization. This role involves helping with recruitment, onboarding, employee support, and People and Culture administration, while learning about the breadth of People and Culture activities. The Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience People and Culture processes and support the team in creating an engaging and compliant workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment, Selection, and Onboarding

  • Assist in the recruitment process by helping with job postings, coordinating job fairs, shortlisting candidates, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Support the People and Culture Associate and Payroll/Benefits Administrator in onboarding new employees, including processing offer letters and providing information on salary and benefits.
  • Participate in the orientation and training of new hires to ensure a smooth and positive onboarding experience.
  • Help manage staff and student training records to ensure compliance with internal training requirements, including AODA, WHMIS, and Health and Safety.
  • Aid in the offboarding process, including handling exit interviews and employment verification.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of People and Culture policies and procedures to ensure legislative compliance.
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of job descriptions, job postings, and the staff intranet.
  • Maintain employee records and assist with data entry in the People and Culture database.
  • Help troubleshoot People and Culture system issues and ensure all required documentation is collected and filed.

  • Act as a liaison between staff and management to ensure effective communication and support.

Education/Experience/Licenses/Certification Required:

  • Enrolled in post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Current vulnerable sector screening (criminal background check).
  • WSIB provide by College/University.
  • Strong office administration skills include accuracy, organization, ability to multi task, and computer knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of Employment Standards, Human Rights, and other employment-related legislation.
  • Ability to make decisions and work independently, strong personal ethics, integrity, reliability, time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent relationship building, communication and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently in a dynamic, complex environment and organize time and workload effectively.

The placements are unpaid and will be up to 4 months long and for students looking to complete preferably 300 or more placement hours, beginning in Winter 2026. This placement has alternating shifts between 8:30AM to 7:00PM.

What You Will Do:


  • Support internal teams by gathering requirements for process improvements and potential cross-functional solutions.
  • Assist with the creation of an environmental stewardship program for the agency.
  • Complete regular access card audits and assist in maintaining up-to-date records of staff access and office security protocols.
  • Create and update internal signage, ensuring that important health, safety, and operational notices are clearly displayed throughout agency facilities
  • Help coordinate internal and external meetings, including room bookings, setup.
  • Support small/ ongoing projects and tasks, including follow-ups and tracking action items for internal process initiatives.

As an Engineering Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
**Responsibilities**
+ Conducting trade quote reviews - verifying material quantities, hours, and rates.
+ Conducting deficiency walks.
+ Inputting/Updating deficiency logs.
+ Issuing warranties.
+ Taking/Coordinating progress photos.
+ Updating, coordinating, and producing drawings.
+ Performing quantity takeoffs.
+ Coordinating and supervising sub-trade work.
+ Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings.
+ Setting-up/Maintaining record keeping.
+ Updating project schedules.
+ Obtaining scheduling information from sub-trades.
**Qualifications**
+ Working towards a degree or diploma in civil engineering or a related field preferred.
+ A passion for working in a construction environment.
+ Experience with the application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
+ Self-motivated with a hands-on approach.
+ Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.

As an **Engineering Student** and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
**Responsibilities**
+ Coordinating drawings, work specific scope / trades, trade quote reviews - verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates, deficiency walks etc
+ Participating in project meetings,
+ Inputting / Updating deficiency logs and issuing warranties
+ Taking / Coordinating progress photos, and updating field drawings
+ Producing as-built drawings
+ Performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating and supervising sub-trade work and
+ Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings
+ Setting-up / Maintaining record keeping
+ Layout site lines and grades using total station
+ Creating manual schedules, updating schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software, maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD.
+ Obtaining scheduling information from sub-trades and updating project schedules
+ Monitoring workforce productivity
**Qualifications**
+ Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
