**Responsibilities**
+ Works with project manager to ensure implementation of PCL's safety program, including integrating PCL's safety program into all site plans and procedures and adhering to all safety and record keeping requirements.

**Qualifications**
+ Journeyman certificate or undergraduate/engineering degree in a related discipline. NCSO designation required (IND); enrollment in the Gold Seal program (CDN) preferred.
+ 10 years of progressive field supervision experience preferred.
+ Successfully supervised a construction workforce.
+ In-depth knowledge of and experience in construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, and methods and procedures.
+ Understanding of project scope and ability to apply intermediate-complex engineering principles and embed solutions in construction plans and schedules.
+ Proficient understanding of and ability to apply logic to the schedule to build a plan using scheduling software.
+ Ability to coordinate multiple scopes of a construction project, including scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating own forces work (OFW) and trade contractors with three-week lookahead schedules.
+ Thorough understanding of productivity rates or own forces work (OFW), Labor Cost Reports (LCRs), and ability to interpret cost reports.

We are seeking an experienced Superintendent. Reporting to the VP of Construction, the Superintendent is responsible for all field operations required to construct the project which includes overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring that project plans and schedules are followed, and that the project is executed effectively and within budget.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Help create, maintain, and execute project plan and schedule and ensure compliance with budget
- Supervise and coordinate all construction activities
- Work with Senior Superintendents, Coordinators, Field Engineers, Surveyors, Students, hourly Foremen and hourly staff assigned to a project
- Create site-specific plans and procedures; ensure the implementation of Westviews Safety Program to create a safe work environment throughout the jobsite; adhere to safety and record-keeping requirements.
- Ensure project materials and workmanship meets project quality standards and design requirements
- Assist with obtaining necessary information from engineers, designers, inspectors, municipal/provincial authorities and owners
- Resolve and advise senior management of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts; anticipate and resolve project issues and schedule difficulties.
- Lead Sub-Trade meetings and update meetings for clear communication
- Maintain the projects Daily Job Diary; maintain a 3-week look ahead schedule
- Take on management of projects, become acquainted with the project cycle and build project management skills:
- Monitor project financial performances, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, equipment maintenance, safety of environment and quality control
- Build project schedule to align with the critical path
- Complete material take-offs and get required estimates for procurement
- Other duties as required
Qualifications:
- Journeyman certificate or post-secondary diploma/degree in related field
- Minimum 5 years progressive construction-related experience.
- High-rise residential construction experience considered an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry operations, construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures
- Ability to lead and assess trade performance on the job through productivity tracking and clear communication
- Ability to visualize and create the project schedules critical path
- Ability to lead and run effective site meetings with consultants, trades, and internal employees

Role Summary
As a Superintendent, you will oversee field operations for the upgrade, repair, and replacement of underground utilities on complex rehabilitation projects. This position serves as a critical link between field and office teams, ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, and to specification. You will be responsible for the following:
- Deep Utility Rehabilitation Oversight Oversee the installation, upgrade, and replacement of underground water and sewer utilities. Ensure proper construction methods and the safe use of trench boxes, slide rails, and other shoring systems.
- Field Leadership Provide on-site leadership by directing and supporting the Foreman in managing daily crew operations. Ensure the team is properly resourced, aligned with project goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
- Safety & Compliance Promote and enforce HSE standards with a focus on confined space entry, fall protection, traffic control, and trench safety systems. Consult with the Safety Advisor to conduct regular inspections, ensure compliance, and address any safety concerns promptly.
- Traffic & Site Management Coordinate with traffic control providers to ensure safe work in active roadways and oversee adherence to traffic accommodation plans and public safety requirements.
- Project Communication & Coordination Serve as the primary connection between project management and field teams, ensuring clear communication of project plans, timelines, and objectives.
- Scheduling & Milestone Tracking Monitor project progress and adjust schedules, resources, or plans as needed to meet deadlines and stay within budget.

Reporting to the Construction Director, the Superintendent provides leadership in organizing, coordinating, and monitoring all worksite functions and activities necessary to meet project objectives. Your role includes bidding, planning, and directing daily operations on site. Along with your project team, you will be given control of your project to deliver it on time while keeping your client engaged and informed throughout.

Position Responsibilities
Heres what your day-to-day looks like:
- Actively manage the day-to-day onsite operations of your project
- Use your planning skills to map out the work ahead, organize the delivery of materials and strategize the work of onsite subcontractors
- Stay on top of your project by completing your daily logs. Capture critical items such as work being completed and onsite progress photos
- Ensure site safety meets Lindsay Construction policy and legislated requirements
- Preserve client satisfaction through regular communication and timely responses to inquiries
- Provide leadership to the project team on all aspects of the project
- Work cooperatively with other project team members, trades workers and subcontractors
Job Requirements
Our ideal candidate has the following:
- 5 years or more in a field supervisory role of medium-sized commercial construction projects
- Proficient in coordinating on-site operations, including interpretation and implementation of drawings and specifications
- Ability to work with Lindsay Construction trades employees and subcontractors
- Able to communicate in an effective way to all stakeholders
- Experience with design-build, tilt-up, and wood framing is an asset
- Journeymans classification in a skilled trade is an asset
- Must have a valid drivers license

You’ll lead day-to-day site operations, direct production, and collaborate closely with project managers and subcontractors to deliver safe, high-quality projects that have a lasting impact on the communities we serve.
- Continuously monitor project budget and forecasting to the individual phase code level and cost type for potential gains and losses
- Provide leadership and direction for all project activities and tasks, ensuring project outcomes are delivered successfully and in compliance with all contracts and client needs
- Ensure clear communication of project-specific roles and responsibilities for all site personnel. Provide regular and respectful feedback for all under your direction
- Monitor company equipment and supplies to ensure the needed equipment is where it’s required.
- Inspect tools and equipment and notify the Tools and Equipment Manager for service and repair as needed

- 5+ years’ experience as a Superintendent for a large general contractor
- Background in Critical Infastructure (water, wastewater, bridge, etc.) projects considered a strong asset.
- Journeyman trade certification or equivalent field experience
- Willingness to be hands-on in the field and to work occasional night shifts
- Able and willing to travel and work across the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities
