Architectural Design Technologist will help to drive the innovative and efficient design of UnitiWall curtain wall systems, leveraging advanced modeling software to ensure designs meet industry standards and client expectations.
The Architectural Design Technologist will also take the lead in creating project details, Bim models, shop drawings (submittals), installation drawings and required coordination drawings. Additionally, the role will contribute to the development of design processes and software utilization, ultimately enhancing productivity and ensuring project success.

What you'll be doing
Design Excellence and Efficiency:
- Design and model UnitiWall curtain wall systems accurately and within project timelines, adhering to established design standards.
- Manage client BIM models with precision, ensuring all designs are revised, accurate, and ready for shop and manufacturing drawing preparation and detail development.
Advanced Drawing and Modeling:
- Generate 3D CAD models and 2D CAD layouts, details, and shop drawings as well as prepare manufacturing models for client approval, and on-site installation.
- Leverage Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp to support the design process, ensuring a model-based approach for manufacturing, assembly, and construction.
Software and Standards Development:
- Assist in sourcing and implementing design software, setting up standards, libraries, templates, and databases to streamline the design process and improve efficiency.
Client and Project Coordination:
- Review and analyze client architectural and shop drawings for inconsistencies and conflicts, resolving discrepancies through detailed information collection and analysis.
- Coordinate closely with clients, vendors, and project teams, ensuring that designs align with architectural visions while adhering to UnitiWall's standards.
Quality and Compliance:
- Conduct thorough reviews of fabrication releases and project drawings, identifying and resolving any drawing issues or contractual discrepancies.
- Support and ensure designs comply with all architectural and structural requirements, maintaining the company's integrity and quality standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster strong professional relationships with clients and internal teams, articulating design concepts clearly and effectively.
- Participate in factory and job site visits as required, offering technical support and ensuring design fidelity throughout the manufacturing and installation process.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications, but even if you don't meet all the criteria, we still encourage you to apply
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, with significant experience in design technology and BIM management.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following: prefabrication, modular construction, custom manufacturing design of exterior and interior components, CFS (Cold-Formed Steel) design, structural steel design, and/or detailed engineering.
- Extensive experience with 3D and 2D CAD software, particularly Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD
- Ability to analyze design documents and resolve discrepancies or conflicts efficiently.
- Strong understanding of parametric design and modelling technology, design automation, and integration.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of SolidWorks as asset.

Job Summary
Our Environmental / Industrial Wastewater Engineers aid in the design and implementation of wastewater systems and strategies as part of a broad engineering and architectural team as we design and build food and beverage processing facilities. Other capabilities that Dennis Group’s environmental engineering perform are Air Emission Control, Water Reuse Systems, and Environmental Permitting, all surrounding food industry projects. Furthermore, our environmental engineers are responsible for developing and executing comprehensive permitting and compliance plans for our projects. They also aid Dennis Group with interpreting and implementing state and federal regulations. Our environmental engineers are a key part of providing environmental solutions and expertise throughout the design and construction of our projects. Typical responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Responsibilities
- Water & Mass balances
- PFDs, PIDs, equipment layouts, piping and sewer design, equipment lists
- Equipment specification, RFQ development, and procurement.
- Develop, execute on, a comprehensive permitting and compliance plans for projects
- Construction over site and system startup
- Estimating
- Permit acquisition
- Industrial-user wastewater discharge permits
- Air permits
- SPCC permits
- Assist in hazard analysis of plant locations and develop of actions plans for environmental performances.
- Monitor site environmental resources
- Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, air compressor
- Responsible for identifying applicable environmental regulations and risks while interacting with operations, different engineering disciplines, legal, and other internal and external entities
- Interpret and implement state and federal regulation as well as complains programs
- Prepare environmental complains plans
- Serve as a liaison with community and local and state agencies
- Communicate and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure all are aware for compliance requirements
- Support onsite construction and commissioning efforts by working with field personnel and train client personnel on permit and regulatory requirements
- Create and maintain monitoring, reporting, and auditing programs
- Researching environmental engineering materials and best practices
- Supporting talent growth within our organization
Required Education Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical engineering
- 6+ years of experience in Industrial wastewater system design, including sewer and pump station design
- 6+ years of experience in wastewater characterization and data analysis
- 6+ years of experience in environmental permit acquisition (wastewater, air, SPCC)
- Experience with sanitary environments, the food industry or industrial design is a plus
- Past work experience in an industrial manufacturing setting is strongly preferred
- Strong technical writing skills
- Requisite proficiency with MS Office Suite, AutoCAD
- Successful candidates will be professional, self-motivated, energetic and enthusiastic with excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Travel requirement – willing and ability to travel to project sites as needed – approximately 25% out of the year.
