About the Role
This role supports the manager of Engineering IT for Canada by providing direct embedded support services within our Engineering department services at the WESCAM division. Primary Responsibilities

The Network Administrator, under the direction of the IT Infrastructure Manager, is primarily responsible for supporting our organizations by designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure. Network Administrators troubleshoot connectivity issues, optimize network performance, and manage upgrades and configurations to maintain stability, security, and scalability. What you’ll do
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in customer environments
• Provide thorough ticket updates and knowledge articles to guide future incidents and problems
• Coordinate with vendors to repair or replace hardware
• Monitor customer environments and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance
• Respond to alerts and action or escalate as required to vendors
• Maintain regular knowledge sessions for the operational teams
• Follow ITIL practices regarding incident, problem, and change management
• Participate in the weekly change process
• Perform network administration on firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, etc.
• Document and update technical procedures, administrative processes, configuration management database
• Work closely with internal partners and managers to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues
• Coordinate, document, and execute changes to meet the customers’ requirements
• Participate in knowledge transfers and onboarding of new clients to ensure a smooth transition to production
What you need to succeed
Must-have
• 5+ years of experience with infrastructure support including a focus on customer service and technical assistance
• 5+ years of experience with networking fundamentals and advanced troubleshooting
• Experience with ticketing and monitoring systems
• Thorough understanding of TCP/IP and network fundamentals
• Implementation experience configuring routers and switches (Cisco, Brocade)
• Hands-on experience with industry-leading firewall products (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco)
• Experienced with the following security technologies (IPSec/SSL VPN’s, IDS/IPS, UTM, WAF)
• F5 LTM / GTM / ASM experience
• Network Management experience (Nagios, Cacti, Syslog, SNMP, Network analyzers)
• Experience with SD-WAN technologies (Viptella, CloudGenix, Fortinet)
• Exceptional troubleshooting and analytics skills
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• After-hours and on-call rotation availability
Nice-to-have
• Bilingual – English and French
• Experience with Linux administration (RHEL or CentOS) and Windows administration (Server 2016 /2019)

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Network Administrator provides network, computer, storage, telephony, and end-user support using superior customer service in a corporate IT environment.
