Your RoleAs Sr. System Support Analyst, the successful candidate will support critical operations and projects across P&H divisions by providing technical assistance and troubleshooting to end users of software applications and systems, both remotely and in person. They will ensure applications and systems run smoothly, process support tickets promptly, and assist with configuration and user maintenance.Day to Day
  • Respond to daily support tickets in JIRA quickly and efficiently.
  • Build positive relationships with end users by understanding their business and project needs.
  • Analyze and research issues/system errors, working with end users, IT, and support teams to troubleshoot problems.
  • Participate in analysis, documentation, and requirements gathering for software changes and new functionality.
  • Support evaluation of overall system functionality to identify improvements and anticipate future needs.
  • Assist with quality assurance testing for software updates and releases.
  • Support ERP system audits to ensure data integrity and resolve related issues.
  • Create and maintain defect reconciliation from data integrity investigations.
  • Review and resolve system integration errors with end users, IT, developers, and support teams.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree in accounting and/or 2–4 years of accounting experience
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics Finance & Operations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret conceptual situations
  • High attention to detail
  • Interest in leading and managing people
  • Willingness to travel within Canada

Monitors and ensures service restoration of infrastructure, applications (online and offline), and security, while meeting service level agreements. Provides the Help/Service Desk support, as well as coordinates and facilitates Incident Management, deploys changes to the production environment, and engages 3rd party providers contracted to the Bank during an incident. Provides immediate response to production program or system problems. Participates in testing cycles to ensure the ability to deploy and operability of infrastructure and applications. Deploys, implements, provisions applications and infrastructure per deployment plans and infrastructure build guides. Primary responsibility of the Mainframe System Support Specialist (mainframe systems and software) is for providing real time production support and incident analysis for large scale IBM Mainframe system and infrastructure platforms.

  • Provides technical expertise and oversight on the production floor, understanding the full process requirements (compliance, equipment, regulatory) in order to best understand and resolve production issues.
  • Manages complexity across business value, technology and interaction models.
  • Recommends and implements solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Establishes deep relationships at all levels within IT and business units, to effectively collaborate in business strategy.
  • Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Participates in both internal and external regulatory inspections.
  • Works with other operations personnel to develop and implement the counter-measures necessary to improve production and equipment reliability as well as the compliance posture of the team.
  • Provides end to end technology support including computer, applications, network and storage, and root-cause analysis etc.
  • Drives and/or promotes new processes, systems, technology, and operations and expanded capabilities for performance, with the flexibility to align to the unique requirements of the project teams and deliverables.
  • Proactively monitors system performance and identifies operational improvements, in ensuring smooth and consistent customer and business partner delivery.
  • Supports deployment activities, managing implementation issues to resolution.
  • Provides initial triage, investigation and ensures fast turnaround times on issue/incident resolution.
  • Monitors technical infrastructure, applications and/or business transactions through automated systems and instrumentation across the environment.
  • Provides inbound call assistance to end-users for application, technical, and IMACD needs leveraging the knowledge base and/or run books available.
  • Collaborates and engages with the appropriate areas across the bank.
  • Develops or helps to develop the knowledge assets required for the operation.
  • Promotes adherence to standards and industry best practices.

    Qualifications:

  • Possess in-depth knowledge of the following Mainframe technologies: (z/OS 2.5 or 3.1,  CICS, DB2, Websphere, z/OS Connect, GDPS)
  • Mainframe Support experience working in multi LPAR, multiple data centre large system architecture environments.
  • Knowledge or experience with some of the following:  RACF, SDSF,  MQ, FTP,  ConnectDirect, Mainframe Security (firewalls, VPNs)
  • Typically 4-7 years of work experience in IT or business environment and/or BS/BA or MBA/MS in computer science, engineering, information systems, math or business.
  • Understanding of Information Technology operating processes used for systems to ensure effective delivery including but not limited to IT Operations mandatory operating standards for monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Knowledge of support and operations practice, concepts, and technology obtained through formal training and/or work experience.
  • Technical and/or business functional knowledge of systems, tools, timing, and dependencies.
  • Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience.

What you’ll do
  • Provide second-level technical support for websites, applications, and email services
     
  • Handle occasional after-hours support (about 1–2 incidents per week)
     
  • Maintain and improve our hosting platforms: Plesk, Managed WordPress, Virtuozzo VPS, and more
     
  • Own and optimize our infrastructure stack—AWS, Ghost and others 
     
  • Support and streamline customer migrations
     
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and resolve them efficiently
     
  • Proactively track costs and propose ways to deliver more value with less spend
     
  • Administer Linux/Unix and Windows environments
     
  • Manage and tune database systems (MSSQL, MySQL)
     
  • Write and maintain scripts using Bash, Python, Perl, or JavaScript
     
  • Use infrastructure-as-code tools like AWS OpsWorks
     
  • Contribute to IT operations process improvement and documentation
     

What you bring
  • Strong systems administration skills and a love of clean, scalable infrastructure
     
  • Deep knowledge of core network protocols and services: TCP/IP, HTTP/S, DNS, SSL, firewalls, load balancers, etc.
     
  • 5+ years of DevOps or sysadmin experience in Linux and Windows environments
     
  • 5+ years working in AWS cloud environments (EC2, VPC, ELB, EBS, S3, RDS, Route53)
     
  • Hands-on experience with scripting and automation
     
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and modern CI/CD practices
