We are currently seeking a Systems Engineering Specialist for our Waterloo location. This position is responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of system engineering activities within an integrated product/project team composed of customers, internal and subcontract members. The primary focus of this position is on system engineering related to design, development, integration, test and acceptance of new and existing technologies. This position will be responsible for applying specialized knowledge and expertise in preparing plans for the designs and specifications to meet specific operational requirements; participating in projects to procure and implement; and providing assistance for life cycle management of the systems and equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Manage system requirements for a given program - including development, validation, verification, and configuration management.
+ Manage and/or generate systems engineering related documentation of legacy and newly developed products (specifications, schematics, Interface Control Documents, test requirements/plans, ongoing maintenance) in support of projects.
+ Demonstrate technical leadership in engineering programs requiring coordination across multiple internal/external teams and/or disciplines
+ Lead technical risk management - including identification, qualification, mitigation, and resolution
+ Make informed technical decisions to drive project success and conduct various technical analyses (power budget, link budget, or similar) to support decision making process
+ Perform trade studies and make recommendations with respect to insertion of new technologies to meet required capability advances.
+ Planning, execution and documenting of formal qualification tests
+ Perform job analysis to estimate engineering effort required for specific tasks and projects.
+ Responsible for ensuring that systems engineering tasks are performed in accordance with Raytheon Canada Limited engineering policies and procedures.
+ Support manufacturing for transition of products from development to production.
+ Support business development regarding new system integration projects.
+ Support existing programs to meet other customer requirements including conduct of technical investigations, integration development, and program review meetings.
+ Support other engineering staff with system engineering related technical issues.
+ Support growth of the division with regard to expanding assigned projects and seizing the opportunities for additional work through development initiatives.

**Requirements**
+ Bachelor of Science or Engineering in Electrical, Computer, Systems Design, or equivalent.
+ 2 or more years of experience in a systems engineering, integration or development environment.
+ Experience with radar systems, Air Traffic Control (ATC) systems, RF communications and hardware and software integration programs would be an asset.
+ Experience with Modeling and Simulation applications and architecture would be an asset.
+ Experience as a system architect or project engineer would be an asset.
+ Eligibility for professional registration with PEO (Professional Engineers of Ontario)
+ Experience with IBM DOORS would be beneficial
+ Experience with Atlassian Jira/Confluence preferred

The Lead Systems Engineering (LSE) Specialist/Engineer is responsible for overseeing the system and subsystem-level requirements, design, integration, and compliance assessments of our products, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, safety, and operational requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of both mechanical, electrical, tactical and weapon systems, and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team through the entire product lifecycle from concept to technical data package release. The Systems Engineering Manager, under the direction Engineering Director, is primarily responsible for supporting the engineering systems integration, engineering process development, continuous improvement and management of the systemic technical disciplines. Other responsibilities include:

About your next Challenge as a Senior Specialist, Systems Engineering :
The ideal candidate will have a strong and practical understanding of the design, operation, and maintenance of naval communication and networking systems. + Experience reading electrical and mechanical drawings with the ability to produce technical documentation;

Primary Responsibilities
+ Perform system level software regression tests.
+ Create, update and manage software testing utilities to verify and validate systems level functions
+ Generate and revise Applied Systems documentation, such as systems specifications, interface control documents, schematics, test procedure documents, following Wescam change control process
+ Identify, troubleshoot, record and disposition software and hardware issues found in factory or reported by customers.
+ Write thorough reports documenting the results of those tests as well as those performed by others

**Key Responsibilities:**
**Facility Maintenance & Compliance:**
Oversee maintenance, housekeeping, and labor compliance across automated hub
Ensure adherence to UPS Hazardous Materials Procedures and international/national regulations for transporting regulated goods (e.g., hazardous materials, tobacco, alcohol)
Conduct audits, facilitate Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and deliver employee training on compliance requirements
Ensure regularly scheduled maintenance is completed timely and effectively, and ensure all deficiencies are corrected
Oversee invoicing and manage costs for planned and emergency maintenance
**Environmental & Safety Compliance:**
Monitor district-level environmental and safety compliance for the automated hub
Review facility regulations, perform audits, and analyze trends to address compliance issues
**Conveyor Reliability:**
Manage mechanic dispatch for scheduled maintenance as well as emergency repairs
Maintain an accurate record of the facilities inventory through CMMS
Provide hands-on and remote support for conveyor or equipment-related breakdowns and issues that arise during operations.
Generate reports outlining overall system effectiveness and reliability
**Technical Support:**
Provide guidance to Plant Engineering Information Systems (PEIS) personnel and users.
Maintain and update documentation for UPS building standards and specifications.
**Construction Project Management:**
Manage low to moderately complex construction projects, such as conveyor installations and facility modifications.
Ensure projects adhere to contract documentation, timelines, and cost control measures.
Provide drafting and web support services for construction documentation.
**Qualifications:**
Must possess a Bacheloru2019s degree in Engineering.
Knowledge of facility maintenance and conveyor systems.
Familiarity with hazardous materials procedures and regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in software and hardware development and deployment.
Experience managing construction projects and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Exposure to/Understanding of Automation in some regards, preferably in relation to conveyance, sortation, and building systems
