Nous sommes à la recherche d’un(e) Conseiller(ère) principal(e) en fiscalité pour soutenir la fonction fiscale d’un conglomérat canadien ayant des filiales à l’échelle mondiale. Vous possédez une expérience pratique des obligations fiscales des sociétés d’un groupe multinational basé au Canada et êtes un membre d’équipe collaboratif, contribuant au succès de l’équipe fiscale et à la mise en œuvre des stratégies fiscales. Relevant du Directeur de la fiscalité, le/la Conseiller(ère) principal(e) en fiscalité aura la responsabilité de contribuer à l’évolution continue de la structure internationale de l’entreprise et devra veiller au respect des exigences fiscales directes et indirectes dans plusieurs pays, à l’aide de systèmes et de contrôles conçus pour assurer des déclarations exactes et en temps opportun. Vous êtes un joueur d’équipe, animé par un objectif clair : assurer la conformité fiscale. Vous atteignez cet objectif en optimisant les procédures de déclaration et en favorisant le bon fonctionnement de l’équipe fiscale.
Votre journée en un coup d'oeil :
- Développer et mettre en œuvre une planification fiscale stratégique pour le groupe d'entreprise
- Faciliter et gérer la préparation ainsi que la révision de toutes les obligations fiscales directes, en veillant à l'exactitude et à la ponctualité du dépôt de toutes les déclarations fiscales
- Identifier et mettre en œuvre des opportunités d'amélioration des procédures fiscales de l'entreprise
- Préparer les composantes de la déclaration de revenus de l'entreprise et d'autres documents fiscaux
- Maintenir des procédures de contrôle efficaces sur tous les aspects du processus fiscal
- Faciliter les audits fiscaux sur le revenu, y compris l’analyse de la documentation et la préparation de réponses aux demandes des autorités fiscales, la création de d'horaires, etc.
- Surveiller les évolutions législatives et réglementaires en matière de fiscalité, communiquer les effets de ces évolutions à la direction et à l'équipe fiscale, et élaborer des stratégies pour tirer parti des changements dans la législation fiscale
- Identifier et gérer les risques fiscaux
- Apporter un soutien à divers audits internes et projets fiscaux spéciaux
- Fournir un soutien et des conseils aux unités commerciales sur diverses questions fiscales

- Solide connaissance de la fiscalité des sociétés, y compris la fiscalité internationale

We are looking for a Senior Tax Advisor to support the tax function of a Canadian based conglomerate with subsidiaries worldwide. You will have has hands-on experience with the corporate taxation obligations of a Canadian-based multinational and must be a collaborative team member who supports the tax team's success and contributes to the execution of tax strategies. The Senior Tax Advisor, reporting to the Director of Tax, will have the responsibility to assist for the continued evolution of the company’s international structure and be tasked with ensuring compliance with all direct and indirect taxation requirements of multiple countries through a series of systems and system controls that are designed to ensure accurate, timely reporting. You are a team player and single minded in your pursuit of ensuring compliance and achieves this goal through optimizing reporting procedures and driving the successful function of the tax team.
Your day at a glance:
- Developing and implementing a strategic tax planning for the corporate group
- Facilitating and managing the preparation and review of all direct tax compliance, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of all tax forms
- Finding and implementing opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures
- Preparing components of the company's income tax return and other tax documents
- Maintaining effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
- Facilitating income tax audits, including analysis of documentation and preparation of responses to queries from tax authorities, creating schedules, etc.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation
- Identifying and managing tax risks
- Providing support with various internal audits and special tax related projects
- Providing support and advice to business units on various tax matters

Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Planning (70%)
- Act as the corporate reference for sales and use tax compliance across all jurisdictions where the corporation operates (Canada, USA, Belgium, UAE, Singapore).
- Develop and manage processes to ensure compliance in all jurisdictions, with deeper expertise in Canadian and U.S. regulations.
- Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax filings (GST/HST, U.S. sales tax, VAT), including payments and supporting documentation.
- Maintain proper registration in jurisdictions where applicable and ensure resale certificates are up to date.
- Conduct annual reviews of tax compliance requirements with external consultants and present findings to the Corporate Controller and CFO.
- Monitor evolving sales tax thresholds and regulations, and update processes to ensure compliance.
- Assess global tax compliance risks, recommend improvements to internal procedures, and support audit and financial reporting teams with tax-related disclosures.
- Oversee intercompany charges, ensuring compliance with transfer pricing regulations and agreements.
- Coordinate with external advisors for annual transfer pricing reports and ensure compliance with international standards.
- Collaborate with IT/ERP and accounting teams to ensure system data integrity and support automation of tax processes.
Accounting & Financial Reporting (30%)
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements (consolidated and standalone).
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Provide support in the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
- Assist in developing reports for management and regulatory bodies.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
- Participate in projects such as ERP implementations and process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- CPA designation (Canada, U.S., or equivalent) strongly preferred.
- 56 years of progressive hands-on experience in tax and accounting, with a specialization in indirect taxes.
- Strong working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. sales/use tax, including multi-state filings.
- Exposure to international tax compliance (Belgium, UAE, Singapore) and transfer pricing is an asset.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written) strongly preferred.

Your job
Represent the sector in large-scale projects related to regulatory initiatives and technology integration
Support business line partners and it teams in making decisions and deliverables
Define the scope of processes to be optimised and proactively take charge of planning activities for deliverables
Lead workshops with several stakeholders with leadership at various levels and expertise
Model current and target processes based on mapping practises in place at the Bank
Develop analysis methodologies and reliable performance and risk indicators
Perform detailed, high-level impact analyses on all angles the process
Apply best practises to identify and draught business requirements, understand their links and ensure their traceability
Define identify test scenarios and support users
Propose change management strategies to solution users and contribute to coaching and planning
Expert on U.S. taxation for business lines and advise management on complex issues
Lead Regulatory certification activities required by the IRS and support internal partners and external suppliers
